Dorothy Timm (simbasmom) | 1 comments I'm looking for cozies that are especially funny, with quirky, funny characters. I've enjoyed Donna Andrews (when her parents are featured), Elaine Viets, and Rita Lakin to give you a few examples. Any more?

The Flavia de Luce series by Alan Bradley is great fun. Flavia is a young (ten or eleven) girl who likes chemistry, especially poisons. I listened to the books and the narrator did a great job bring Flavia to life. The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie is the first book in the series.

Also,
Jana Deleon's Ghost-in-Law series
Laura DiSilverio - Charlie Swift Mysteries

I just read A Dyeing Shame in the Myrtle Clover series by Elizabeth Spann Craig. It was LOL funny! The MC is a wily 80 year old whose son is chief of police. She used her cane to bash a suspect!

A Dyeing Shame (Myrtle Clover Mystery #3) by Elizabeth Spann Craig

I'm a fan of Donna Andrews' series too.

L J | 715 comments Miranda James author of Cat in the Stacks series and the related Southern Ladies Mystery series as Dean A. James writes the Simon Kirby-Jones Mysteries about a gay American writer who became a vampire in Houston and now lives in Snupperton Mumsley, a small village in England. Simon is known in academic circles for his non-fiction but writes fiction under pen name.
My favorite of the series is Decorated To Death (Simon Kirby-Jones Mystery #3) by Dean A. James Decorated To Death.
James also writes non-fiction such as By a Woman's Hand A Guide to Mystery Fiction by Women by Dean A. James By a Woman's Hand: A Guide to Mystery Fiction by Women.

I agree with others on books by Donna Andrews, Laura Levine, Janet Evanovich etc. I was happy to see some authors I wasn’t familiar with to add to my over flowing list of books to read.
