You'll love it :) This month I've just finished reading Red Country, before starting [book:Prince of Fo..."

I did! I was pretty worried at first, Riyria's a tough act to follow. He pulled it off, though, no worries on that front.

Just finished Hollow World, one of my top reads for the year! Here's my review

Next up:
The Leopard (Marakand, #1) by K.V. Johansen

message 53: by Christine (new)

Christine (inhalesbookslikepopcorn) I finished The Assassin's Curse and look forward to The Pirate's Wish in July, I am currently reading Island of the Blue Dolphins and about to start The Amulet of Samarkand.

Andreas Just got my copy of cross-genre anthology Rogues. First story by Joe Abercrombie was awesome and so many are waiting!
Expect me to continuously editing my review.

Bev (greenginger) | 744 comments Blood song and Maze runner next will be The art of racing in the rain.

message 56: by Sam (new)

Sam | 14 comments Oh boy, where to start. Read The Thousand Names, King of Thorns and Emperor of Thorns. Just started The Red Knight...is it just me or does this book hop around like a tweaking meth addict? I'm trying to like the story but sometime I am more confused than a homeless man on house arrest. Based on the size of this book I seriously doubt I will have a chance to start another title this month.

Kelila Sam wrote: "Oh boy, where to start. Read The Thousand Names, King of Thorns and Emperor of Thorns. Just started The Red Knight...is it just me ..."

The Red Night took me forever to read! Because it jumped around so much, I couldn't tell what was really going on until a few hundred pages into the book. Some parts are completely unnecessary, and drag on a bit. But some of it is really intriguing! I think it should have been edited down way more than it was.

message 59: by Joseph (new)

Joseph | 1651 comments Finished The King in Yellow and Other Horror Stories and started The Tower Broken, the third in Mazarkis Williams' Tower and Knife trilogy.

message 61: by [deleted user] (new)

I'm pretty much done with The Leopard; it's a good book, but not one for me. Here's my review

Traitor's Blade (Greatcoats, #1) by Sebastien de Castell

message 62: by Ashley (new)

Ashley (emerald_kelp_cat) I am reading "Sekret" by Lindsay Smith ~ & ~ so far I really am enjoying it! I'm only 44% done....won't finish it today but hope to very soon! Have a book club tonight on this book. ;-)

message 63: by [deleted user] (new)

I finished Traitor's Blade, that book is incredibly fun. One of the best debuts of the year, no doubt about it. It has a lot of hype to it and I can see why. Here's my review

L.G. Estrella | 138 comments I'm looking forward to some history-related material. I'm already familiar with Imperial Rome, so I was thinking of looking at some of the successors to the Roman Empire in the west.

The easy half! Manage through the slog and A Memory of Light will be worth it :D

The Easy Half?!?!?!?
LOL!
Sometimes I think Wow! This is the best series, then a few 100 pages I'll want to slam my head into the wall trying to keep up with all the characters!
To committed now to quit though so back thru the slog I go!

Mike Wilson Bev wrote: "Blood song and Maze runner next will be The art of racing in the rain."
I thought Maze Runner was just so-so. Great idea just not well executed.

message 73: by Andreas (new)

Andreas Just finished Rogues. Read my review for (nearly) all of the stories in it :)

message 74: by Andrew✌️ (new)

Andrew✌️ (andrew619) | 58 comments I finished The Drawing of the Three and today I started The Number of the Beast.

message 75: by Michele (new)

Michele Michael, I have read the full Memory, Sorrow and Thorn trilogy and while I really liked it, I understand that many people can't get into it. I'll just say, it doesn't get any different if you don't like The Dragonbone Chair. This isn't like some new author's first book, where people say it gets better in book three or whatever.

Tad Williams tends to use a lot of words :) Also, this trilogy has a...melancholy feel throughout, kind of haunting. It is very Tolkien flavored also. Anyways, it's basically a coming of age story - awkward boy becomes something more in the midst of war and questing and so on. It's his writing that I like here, the details and descriptions and character thoughts and such, but I know many find them boring so YMMV.

message 76: by Marcus (new)

Marcus I am reading the hobbit now.

Easily one of my favorite series ever. Considering reading it again soon. Nearly finished with The Red Night, good book but so hard to keep up with. I may read something else and come back to book 2 later.

message 80: by Dameon (new)

Dameon Cox I read it some years ago and remember enjoying it.

It's definitely worth it! Was so for me :D

message 83: by Amy (new)

Amy Keeley (safire_blue) Finished Thoroughly Kissed. I'm hoping to finish Daughter of the Forest, and get started on The Fire Lord's Lover.

message 84: by [deleted user] (new)

Finished reading The City and the City. Excellent stuff. I get the buzz behind Mieville now; definitely looking forward to Perdido Street Station even more! Here's my review

message 85: by Elise (new)

Elise (ghostgurl) | 1028 comments Finished The Empire of the Stars. So far this trilogy is good, but not great. Jumping into Prince of Fools now before I finish off The Dragon Throne trilogy.

message 86: by Joseph (last edited Jun 26, 2014 04:35PM) (new)

Joseph | 1651 comments Finished The Tower Broken, a fine end to the trilogy, and started Baptism of Fire, the most recently translated Witcher novel by Andrzej Sapkowski.

message 87: by Lee (new)

Lee McAulay (lee_mcaulay) About halfway through Titus Groan - the second of the Gormenghast books. I hoped to finish it by the end of the month but it doesn't look likely...

message 88: by [deleted user] (new)

I just finished Night Terrors. Have you read The Nekropolis Archives? In that case you're probably going to want to avoid that. If you haven't, it's a fun read. Here's my review

I'm gonna continue reading Perdido Street Station, really interested in where it's headed so far. When I'm done that, depending on how much I enjoyed it I'll probably go straight into The Scar, or I'll dig into my ARC of The Mirror Empire whiles I wait on Half a King to hatch.

message 89: by [deleted user] (new)

Lee wrote: "About halfway through Titus Groan - the second of the Gormenghast books. I hoped to finish it by the end of the month but it doesn't look likely..."

I keep hearing amazing things about that, what do you think of it?

message 90: by Joseph (new)

Joseph | 1651 comments Finished Baptism of Fire, the latest (translated) Witcher novel -- quite good although very much a section of a larger story -- and am starting The Horror Stories of Robert E. Howard by, well ...

message 92: by Sam (new)

Sam | 14 comments Just finished The Dragon's Path. Odd and somewhat slow book but interesting for the court intrigue. Guess that closes out June reading.

message 93: by Rovin (new)

Rovin Desai I just finished 'the blade itself', and now on to 'Before they are hanged'.

message 94: by [deleted user] (new)

Finished Perdido Street Station! Interesting read. Here's my review

I didn't realize Tower Lord was coming out so early in July, that pretty much threw my reading plans out the window! No complaints. Starting it now.
