Mainly world building, but dangers out to get the female character are violent for YA. Questions still in my mind about what kind of beings this book is about. I would read book 2 out of curiosity to see where this goes if the price is right for book 2.

I just finished and it might be one of my very favorite of the Mercy Thompson series. The history and folklore was just so intriguing I could hardly put it down.

I am now reading ,Book 1. This is a YA book and at 30 percent, it is slow moving. Maybe this appeals to YA, but the day-to-day school and classes are not doing it for me. I don't see any action. (This is a freebie, rated 4 stars.)

I am embarking on the Vampire Chronicles by Anne Rice, starting with Interview with the Vampire. Can't believe that this was first published in 1976! It's still so amazing!!

Good to see there are some other Anne Rice fans out there, I don't see her books mentioned much in the various groups I'm a part of. I didn't think the books after the original 5 were as good. I absolutely loved the first 5 (The Vampire Lestat is one of my all time favorite books), but I did purchase the new book, , and have hopes I will enjoy it.

It's a funny story actually. You see I read the first 4 books back when they were first published (I know how old that makes me) and for some reason I can't remember, I stopped. Then, a couple weeks ago, I get this surprise package from amazon and it was Prince Lestat from a very old friend who remembered I liked Anne Rice. So I'm going back to re-read/read them all now. I'll have to see what I think of books #5-10. My favorites were The Vampire Lestat and The Queen of the Damned.
