Not sure..Is Lafayette a town? If so I think that would be the setting. If it is more vague, I guess we could use Indiana...

I had to add it to my TBR!

How did you like it?

I remember this one being hard to get into - I had to keep rewinding a re-listening to it a few times but then it picked up and was a decent entertaining read.

I am in the car and just lost my post with books finished and what they worked for. Grrrr

So now I'll post them one at a time.

Audible is having one of their big sales so was able to snag a few that worked for some of our open spots. :)

Yeah it was ok but i also had to keep rewinding it a few times, it was quite good but i had worked out the "twist" quite early in so it was just witing for the other charcters to catch on lol

Apparently it is an old children's classic from 1975, but I'd never heard of it. I found it as audio as well, so it might go quicker when I can do both:P It is a follow-up book as well, with rabbits on the cover, but I haven't checked if that one is available on my regular sites and I'm not sure if there's time enough to read both...

Andrea (dreakay) | 192 comments Hey guys so sorry for being mia this month. Combo of real life business (surprise week long visit from out of town family and an upcoming choir concert to stress about and practice for non stop) and also not really getting into my first choice book. Sucks because I'm the type of person who hatesss quitting books so I kept trying to get into it. I'm going to pause it for now and try to read a book to help with the mini.

I'm thinking Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy because it's shortish and works for the listopia question (best books ever list). So if someone could mark me down for that I'm going to try and do some serious reading of it this week. (On mobile so can't link anything)

Thanks and good job all of you!!

message 1289: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer J. | 561 comments I completely understand and I hate that I'm that way!!! I don't know why I make myself suffer through them but I think I'm afraid it's going to turn around "any minute" and it might just be the most AMAZING book I've ever read so I'm scared to quit on them. Or maybe I just like torturing myself....

Same for me! It's paid off so very rarely... I'm not sure why I still do it but for some reason I still do.

Happy you found something to fit that best books task, Andrea!

Jennifer J. | 561 comments Hahahaha!!! Yes I do that too....I haven't "given" up on them as long as they are laying on my endtable or night stand :-p

I finished Darkness of Light for the mini "fire" task....MC starts all of Seattle on fire so I'm pretty sure it qualifies :-D

Silje (sikna) | 908 comments We are currently ranked #6, but given that we don't have plotted in our points from the mini that might not be correct. It is app. 170 points to the top (17 books) at the moment, but only 70 to second place! (hmm, competitive me??) Luckily we still have five days left:P I think the teams in top 9 right now all have a good shot at a medal:P

*fingers crossed*

message 1300: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer J. | 561 comments If your number book doesn't fit in any of the open spots let me know and I can move mine to a different spot.

Also, I noticed on the spreadsheet someone made a note on the "MC is an animal" task. Can this be a shifter? This exact question was previously asked and the MODs stated that no it has to be an animal 100% of the time.
