Jennifer J. | 561 comments YAY!!

I'm hoping to finish a couple books today and hopefully another one tomorrow but after that I don't think I will have much of a chance to read because I have family coming to town for the weekend. If it was once of my "free" weekends I know I would have spent the whole things trying to complete as many eggs as possible....competitive nature coming out :)

I'd rather recommend Princess of the Midnight Ball (Princess, #1) by Jessica Day George and the two other books in the series, I remember I liked them a bit more than the one I read now.

Silje (sikna) | 908 comments I'm actually quite proud of myself, I've managed to finish four books in stead of the two I thought I could manage!=) But I'm glad I can have a few days break from reading now, before Tower Teams starts=)

Jennifer J. | 561 comments Awesome job everyone!! I've finished Will & Patrick Meet the Mob and The Tenth Man. I have less than an hour on the audiobook Presidential Shift. But I still have two ebooks left and not positive I'll be able to get them done but they are both less than 200 pages so I'm trying!!

Jennifer J. | 561 comments We still have one task left "Australian native animal on cover" if anyone is interested. If not I completely understand! Everyone did amazing this month and hopefully we didn't burn ourselves out on reading!!

message 1331: by K~Terror (new)

K~Terror (k-terror) | 506 comments GREAT READING EVERYONE!!!
Very exciting!!!
Same here Jennifer! Trying to get in a couple more books today after the one I'm close to finishing -- The Secret Wife.

I'll be able to post when I get home. Not as friendly posting on phone app.

My daughter and I have been watching 13 Reasons too! We're on episode 6 I think. Agree it's really close to following the book. Our school system sent out an email about the show & warning parents that it may be harmful for "at risk" kids to watch it so be sure for parents to watch it with them. My daughter and I read the book so we were wanting to watch it before this email came out but - whereas the school thought some kids may think it's promoting or making suicide look like a glorified option - my daughter just thinks it's stupid someone would kill themselves in high school when this stuff probably won't even matter after you graduate.

I'm interested to see how this show ends.. it's been awhile since I'd read it.

I would take that one if I could but am barely gonna make what I have.

You and Silje have really out-done yourselves reading atleast 3-5x more than you typically read in a month!!! (It may be even more because mine says I'm like 6 under my monthly books when I'm actually 12 books over what I usually read.)

message 1333: by K~Terror (last edited Apr 30, 2017 12:59PM) (new)

K~Terror (k-terror) | 506 comments This weekend I've finished -
----------------------------------
In the House of Mirrors | "I";
Seduction and Snacks | chocolate on cover;
Slaughterhouse-Five | Book set in Germany;
The Secret Wife | "Easter" in text;

Hopefully should finish these before the day ends:
Lion by Saroo Brierley | "egg" in text | this one will definitely be done...
Snowblind by Christopher Golden | MC owns a restaurant | this one should likely get completed
A Dog's Purpose (A Dog's Purpose, #1) by W. Bruce Cameron | MC is an animal | this one may be a bit iffy

Do we have a countdown anywhere?

I'm not sure if the books only used for mini challenged are being tracked, so the numbers might be inaccurate=)

message 1341: by V_Nerdbooks (new)

V_Nerdbooks | 396 comments I finished tape (episode) 13 today K and it is quite harrowing, the last 3 episodes give a warning at the beginning as it shows quite graphic scenes (2 rape and the actual suicide) it did make me quite upset watching it as it reminded me how cruel kids actually are.

It was the last 3 tapes that will ring the warning bells as even though the rapes (plural!) are not violent it is quite harrowing.

I'm also up to episode 5 of Big Little Lies and I'm really enjoying that too, I remember loving the book but some of the stuff in it I can't remember at all lol

I think I can!

message 1343: by K~Terror (new)

K~Terror (k-terror) | 506 comments Oh man... V - I need to re read the book again. I remembered it was dark and understood the tapes... but they think I've blocked out the more harrowing parts...
