Nichole | 620 comments I can do Romance or Fantasy! Those are my 2 favorites. But I'm a little slower, reading 2 maybe 3 books a week if they're not too long.

Does anyone have a starter plan for February? I have some books that have been picked for me in another group that I was going to try to whittle down. Let me see if i can link it from my tablet...

https://www.goodreads.com/review/list...

I'm open to suggestions though!

Ghost in the Stacks The Bird and The Sword is the only one I have on my TBR list.

..and dang Nichole. you should have a parent advisory sticker on that shelf of yours

Berit☀️✨ (berittalksbooks) I'm good with whatever, what if we start the book on the same day but one of us finishes the day before? Would that count as reverse or does it need to be finished before we can reverse it?
I'm also always game to read a thriller , well I'll read anything but probably romance and thriller are my favorites, although I have read a lot of fantasy this month....

message 54: by Nichole (new)

Nichole | 620 comments Haha, it's only half full of naked man chests! The other half is Urban Fantasy so there's a few weapons :)

Ghost in the Stacks I will ask the mods to verify, as I think the first book would need to be done before the reserve can be read, since a Reverse is a book another member has read.

message 56: by Nichole (new)

Nichole | 620 comments Good news! From the Q & A

Q: Just to clarify....a Reverse is a book a teammate has read at any time or during the challenge?

A:
No, it can be any book they've read at any time and not necessarily during the challenge.

Aricia (autumnaleaves) | 104 comments Hey everybody! Sorry I'm a bit late to the game, but this is my first time doing any sort of challenges, so I have to say that by reading your comments have intimidated me thoroughly. ;)
By the way, thanks for the heads-up, Joe. This would have totally escaped my notice had I done it myself. (To be honest, when I saw the notification for your message, I was slightly confused and concerned for my safety- not anymore though! I hope... O_O)
So, if may I ask, can anyone catch me up to date on the progress? I'm still slightly confused about it all. Thanks much!

message 59: by Aricia (new)

Berit☀️✨ (berittalksbooks) Welcome! No need to be intimidated, this is a pretty easy game, and I think you will completely understand it after we have played it for a few days :-)
And good news about being able to read any book on another players shelf, I don't mind doing that if you all want me to :-)

message 61: by Nichole (new)

Nichole | 620 comments Hi Aricia! Welcome aboard:)

About that reverse card... where are we right now? Are we still on 6, or have we moved on to reverse or whatnot?

message 63: by Jose (new)

Jose (josemagical) | 23 comments The challenge starts in February 1

message 64: by Aricia (new)

Aricia (autumnaleaves) | 104 comments OHHHHHHHHHHH
*facepalms*
Thanks so much!

message 65: by Nichole (new)

Nichole | 620 comments We were just trying to plan a little with the reverse, but it turns out that it's easier than we thought!

Berit☀️✨ (berittalksbooks) Yes, the first hand might require a little more planning , but all we really need to do is read the book and then post what cards it will work for, the captains have to do the harder work, trying to figure out what to put where :-)

message 67: by Jose (new)

Jose (josemagical) | 23 comments Yeah lol :P

Popping in to say hi!!!!

Hey Abbie - that's a great book - but there is some (furtively looking over my shoulder - leaning over and whispering) ROMANCE in it!!!

LOL LOL LOL!!!

Berit☀️✨ (berittalksbooks) Hey Sally, it is a good book, but I'm not sure if it is your thing Abbie, I have quite a few books on Nicole's shelves that I've been meaning to read, so if you need me to I will do that task...

These challenges aren't new to you, so I would assume you have FIRST HAND experience with helping out?
(Prepare for the onslaught that are my puns. Y'all only have to deal with it for a little less than a year. ;D)

Berit☀️✨ (berittalksbooks) :-)

Ghost in the Stacks Welcome Aricia, no worries, once you get going it will all fall into place.

Its all yours Berit....plus I had one of those Aussie birds whispering in my ear.

Haha, its not a requirement to read the team book, but if you are in the mood, feel free Carrie!

Ghost in the Stacks I meant to stop in yesterday, but it was my anniversary, so I promised my husband no goodreads for the night.

message 76: by Ghost in the Stacks (last edited Jan 25, 2017 02:41AM) (new)

Ghost in the Stacks Okay, I have just added all the group shelves to message 5 at the top.

The only one I am missing is Joe's.

For those of you who have never played, you will only add COMPLETED books to these shelves. Do not add books you want to read. Joe and I have to go through them for verification, and its easier if only completed books are on there.

Also dont forget to add your completed books to your shelf, or we cant count them.

message 77: by Nichole (new)

Nichole | 620 comments So will we be posting our completed books here? And is there a certain format to use? Or will we be adding our own books to a copy of the Spreadsheet and you guys use that to transfer to the Original?

I am yours to command!

Ghost in the Stacks Lol, I am looking into what is going to be easier, as you all know me and spreadsheet hate each other....or at least my kindle does...

Berit☀️✨ (berittalksbooks) I have that same hate of spreadsheets, so I will have to post my books here, it is really hard to edit those spreadsheets on my phone :-)

message 80: by Nichole (new)

Nichole | 620 comments Okay, I get it! I would hate to do it on a tablet or God forbid, a phone *shudders*. I guess I'm just getting antsy :) I'm ready to see this in action!

Jennifer | 92 comments Nichole wrote: "So will we be posting our completed books here? And is there a certain format to use? Or will we be adding our own books to a copy of the Spreadsheet and you guys use that to transfer to the Origin..."

Also, I've lurked on a couple other teams threads and some teams are claiming cards to read and others are just listing a bunch of their possible TBR's and which cards they work for and the captains are putting them in wherever they fit once they are marked as read. Anyone who played this before have a suggestion of which works best?

Jennifer | 92 comments Abbie wrote: "I meant to stop in yesterday, but it was my anniversary, so I promise my husband no goodreads gor the night."

Happy anniversary Abbie and Mr. Abbie!!

Berit☀️✨ (berittalksbooks) I think it is easiest just to read and post what your book will work for, unless you have a reverse, and I've offered to do that card, that way it kind of is first come first serve and you get the hand done quicker....
I believe after we get this firsthand, we will get several hands, so things will probably get moved around throughout the month, so maybe towards the end of the month there might be something you need to read specifically :-) I hope I am making sense

message 84: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer | 92 comments Total sense! Thanks Berit!!

message 85: by Nichole (new)

Nichole | 620 comments Sounds good to me!

Yeah, Happy Belated Anniversary!

Joe and I are discussing this at the moment. I had a thought today, but I wanted to run it through him first, since he is the boss!

Hkpefully he will be around to night, so maybe we can get started with some planning tonight....February is right around the corner.

message 89: by Nichole (new)

Nichole | 620 comments You are old, Abbie! Lol, just kidding :) That's great though! We are coming up on our 16th in March. It makes me feel proud and grateful that we still like each other. Lord knows it isn't always easy :)

Men never make things easy.

Berit☀️✨ (berittalksbooks) Don't get me started on men! LOL, and you both are much younger than me, I have a 20-year-old, if I was still married I would have been married 17 years? Although we would have been together for 23 years maybe? I can't even remember anymore, although I do know I've been divorced for four years, for glorious years!!!

message 92: by Jose (new)

Jose (josemagical) | 23 comments I am not married and I'm 24 years old heheheeh

Ghost in the Stacks I think t might make you the baby of the group...but no worries, every team has one.

message 94: by Nichole (new)

Nichole | 620 comments Berit, you are a young spring chicken! I'm not sure what that means exactly but I've heard it before. Don't judge me. I love the 4 glorious years part *snickers*

Nichole | 620 comments Joe wrote: "I am not married and I'm 24 years old heheheeh"

Hey, no need to get married right out of high school or even college for that matter! Wait for the right person. I didn't get married until I was 25 and I don't regret it one bit. I doubt that I could have made it if I was any younger. Boy, was I stupid back then, LOL!

message 96: by Jose (new)

Jose (josemagical) | 23 comments Hello team.

We should start with hand one.

Please each one of you pick a card you want

message 97: by Nichole (new)

Nichole | 620 comments I honestly have no preference. I'll read whatever! So, I'll let you guys choose first and I'll take the scraps. Or, if I must pick something I'll come up with something.

I went to university and I have a Master Degree in Education. I don't want to get married just yet :D

Ghost in the Stacks Mine marriage kind of just happened on accident....I was 20, enjoying life, then bam...bun in the oven. We were not going to get married, but he talked me into it when I was 8 months pregnant. We went to the court house, spent 75$ and has been married ever since. We got married Jan 24th, and I had my daughter Feb 18th. We took our honeymoon when she was three months...and yes, she went with us.
