I started The Hound of the Baskervilles prior to the 14th so it won't be usable for the mini-challenge. :(

Not a problem. I have had a rough start this month at getting as much reading in as quickly as I should. That took me all week and it shouldn't have!

Right?! Lol! Too bad it's so long, there's one more in the series but will have to save it for the next month :)
If no one wants it I can read Wonder for 'published on the 14th of February' bonus. And we can use it for reverse as Apoorv and Babitix have read it :)

Thanks for tackling. I was looking yesterday for something I wouldn't mind reading that would work for this. But hasn't decided anything. So go ahead.

I didn't see it on any of our Valentine's shelves but it looks like it might work for 'young woman as a main character' task and possibly few others for part 2. Just list as many as you find when you're done, Rachel, that way we'll have some flexibility to move it around if needed. Thank you! :)

I read

From Elena's shelf (Feb 2015). I loved the descriptions of Paris and the first part of the book, but I felt it got a bit lacklustre by the end and the ending which was no ending at all was annoying! 3.5 stars
I also read

From Apoorv's shelf (read Feb 2014). I have avoided Murakami for a long time and so I thought this challenge was a good reason to finally crack one open. I have to say I'm left a little confused after finishing it. I didn't dislike it, but I also didn't love it. This is a love story, but more it is a story about life. Or perhaps death.
I can see why his books elicit such strong responses in people. 3stars
And finally this week I read

From Rachel's shelf
Holly Golightly was quite different to the character in the film, and I'm not sure if the book would have survived into a 'classic' without the film. 3 stars

Thanks for the assist Elena.

Not overstepping at all!!!!
I forgot to come back and let everyone know that I got that much done. It includes all the books from Asheligh that were read or published in Feb, I didn't find any added in Feb for her.

Weird, that GoodReads didn't update the day I updated.
But thanks for catching that. Hopefully, all good now!
Also, just a qui..."

Carmen and Sassafrass, wonderful to see you both back! Hope you ladies had a great time away! :) We have a Valentine mini challenge going on from 2/14 till the end of February. Details are here, and just ask if you have any questions. There's been a mini challenge tab added to our tracking spreadsheet and plenty of spots are still available! :D

Naah! It seems like she started it earlier than that! :'(
Damn, this challenge!
Why do we have to work or study or both?
Why can't we just sit and read and read and read and read?
Ugh!

I started The End and it will fits in:
8. ❤ Read a book first published on the 7th of any month

Sorry, was checking if any of our valentine members had read it / added it etc. in a February....no luck. Put does work for a task (see above post).

Total Books Read: 36

Feb Challenge - Valentine's Points : 40
TOTAL POINTS: 980 + 40 = 1020

The Mystery of the Blue Train (Hercule Poirot, #6) by Agatha Christie
Read: 2/19/17
Cards: 0 - char. Zia Papopolous, 2 - title, 3 and Skip - Char. Hercule Poirot, 4 - char. Hyppolyte Flavelle, 6 - 6th in series, 7 - char. Rufus Van Aldin, 8 -char. Charles Evans.
Valentine - Part 1/Task 2 - read by Pigletto on 2/19/15 and possibly Part 1/Task 1 - Kirsten currently reading.

To get in as many hands completed before the end of the month, I am going to start shuffling books around in our spreadsheet to have the most points accounted for.
But, it seems clear that we need a lot of Reverses to finish off the hands we are close on.
So, please do start suggesting books that you absolutely loved which others can read and get those Reverses sorted out!

I am in the middle of The End, too.

0 - 0
1 - 3
2 - 4
3 - 3
4 - 2
5 - 4
6 - 3
7 - 4
8 - 2
9 - 2
Reverse - 6
Wild - 1
Skip - 1

I think it was trying to tell me that someone else had read The Hound of the Baskervilles, but when I actually look at their shelf and searched for the book so I could say when they read it for the spreadsheet the book didn't show up. ??? So not sure.

Carmen read:
Gone Girl - 12/24/15
Matched - 06/11/13
Eleanor & Park - 09/06/14
I will let her look, but knowing what she reads it is possible she has read a bunch of what Sassafrass has read.

On the planning you list a Captain Underpants - this won't meet the requirements for the challenge. Word count is too low.
I did check that The End will work. It does, word count at arbookfind is 51747.

Books must be more than 100 pages in length and Children's books and Graphic Novels can not be used unless by word count they can be verified as more than 25,000 words using arbookfind.com

I have read Murder on the Orient Express, so that can work for the other Reverse!
... and I am planning on reading Blockade Billy that you read this month!
Great!

Wonder (Wonder, #1) by R.J. Palacio

I'm so sorry I've not been here much. The last few weeks have been crazy. I won't be much help for the month of February... other than finishing the book I'm currently reading I wont be able to do much else... I'm so so so sorry... I'll have more time for reading March and April.... I hope you are all well.... I'll have time tonight to catch up on conversations....
Best Regards,
Denise

But thanks for catching that. Hopefully, all good now!
Also, just a quick request to everyone, please do double-check if the books that you finish reading apply for any of our Valentine's Day task, especially don't miss Part 2 of the challenge.
Babitix and Plethora, can you check if The Last Kingdom and The Hound of the Baskervilles apply to any of those?
