Challenge 1 of 2017: New, New and New!

I don't know if I'll try another round or not. I started a couple series that the second book is available now. I may see what comes up.
Updated post #4.

This was such a different book compared to what I usually read. I think I liked it... but it was definitely harder to finish since it didn't quite hold my attention like my usual picks. I didn't realize until after I had borrowed it that the library shelved it in the YA fiction section but the sticker said "historical fiction," which would explain a lot.

Finished a round! I think I'll have to go read some sequels now, I'm dying to know what happens in all these other books!

Congratulations are overdue for oh! Lainey, Christie, Heather, Barb, Kdbrand, and Candice for completing the challenge.
And extra congratulations are in order for Jennifer - our first member to complete both rounds!

I'm unsure if I'll be able to complete a full second round, but I think I'll keep reading in the challenge parameters through the end of March and see what I can get to :)

This book broke through my slump (put upon me mostly by Red Queen) & it has Noah effing Shaw! 4 stars from me ;)

For anyone who doesn't know what to read, I definitely recommend this interesting twist on a dystopian world.

All New Authors and Series

Updated post #15

Next up (for Round 2!) is Shadow of the Mark and Book 2 in the Starters Series Enders.

Up next would be

The books I have read for this challenge so far this year are:

Hopefully I can get 2 more in before the end of the month
The last 2:

All books were new authors

It was better than I thought it'd be after I realized it was based on the movie, not vice versa. The art was oddly beautiful.

Finished #4 of round 2.

Complete: 4 of 6

Finished

That would be books 2 & 3 of my second round. Both are new authors.
I loved Sachiko. It was very educational and an incredibly eye-opening read! I was ready to re-read to soak up information I didn't the first read through.
Hidden Figures was not my cup of tea. I would much rather have watched the movie again. Too much background that I felt was unnecessary pulled my attention away from a story I was incredibly interested in reading.

Post #20 is updated. Whew. I didn't think I'd finish this challenge. School and work are kicking my ass big time.

I really enjoyed this book, and am excited to see what else this author writes.

I'm so keen to read some of the second in the series books that I'm going to leave it there for a bit. Another month to go though so who knows.
