No, I am not counting children's books. There is a limit to what I count. I have been marking as "read" some books I read long ago that others review but I don't count those either. I just wish I had a total for my life time. Wouldn't it be interesting to know how many books you read in your lifetime? I know during college I read all the James Bond books and I know I have read all or most of the classic children's books. Then there are hundreds of historical romance books and series i.e., Twilight, Ender's Game, Hunger Games, etc.
Wow! Wouldn't we all be amazed at the number we've read. My mind cannot encompass all the various styles, types, genres, and series. Blows my mind.

Made me tear up in places.

I will agree to that my friend. Looking forward to it. Save me a comfy seat and make sure they have southern tea ready and not that Yankee stuff they try to pass off as tea.No offense to those in the north... it's just that in the south, we have our standards where tea is concerned. Sheila, since you are formally from the south... you know what I'm talking about.
J.W., sorry, but I am a Yankee...even dubbed by a co-worker in Texas as the nicest damn Yankee she knew. My mother and her family (Covington) are from Mississippi and Alabama and I spent a lot of my youth visiting there, even spending an entire summer in Meridian MS whilst my mother had her lying in period with her fourth. So I do have fond memories and know what sweet tea is all about, as well as grits, catfish, cornbread and black-eyed peas. Bless you for the thoughts and we are still friends. My grandfather introduced me to coffee (with chicory) as my first taste of coffee and that put me off coffee for much of my youth, until college days and the necessity for caffeine and lots of it. ; )
I remember you talking about being in MS when we were on another site ... and forgot that you were only visiting. I do draw the line regarding coffee with chicory [nasty]. I suppose I have my standards after all. But, sweet tea is where I draw the line. You have made me hungry with the mention of the other foods. Yep, I may have to go and see what I have in the old cabinet. Cornbread is as much a staple around here as light bread. Thanks for the memories. :-)
We used to crumble cornbread in a tall glass of sweet milk and eat it with a spoon along side a bowl of black-eyed peas with a little catsup.
My ex-husband was from Mississippi. The family's next door neighbor had been stationed in Japan and married a Japanese girl.When Saumi met her MS in-laws, they served cornbread. She took a big bite, thinking it was cake. She choked on it and grabbed a glass of milk but it was buttermilk.
She was convinced they were trying to poison her.
Bless her heart. My father always had his cornbread in a glass of buttermilk. I preferred bean soup with my cornbread, or cabbage.
