Lou Sylvre | 360 comments Hey, I just saw a brand new Dresden Files from Jim Butcher! Wow! Interestingly I never finished the last one yet, but I'm still excited about this. What's everybody's fave series--not just MM but all time?

Well, I hope there would be exotic animal vets in London. Certainly I think parrots and the like are fairly traditional British pets. Anybody here from the UK? But I'm thinking Jackie would want something fuzzier... Hmmm. If the rats don't work out I could always afflict them with my cat...

Ooh,what about a pair of ferrets! They're sweet and energetic, and curious!

And they can be trained to use a litterbox *grins*

Lou Sylvre | 360 comments Roger wrote: "How did you start writing? and how did you get interested in writing M/M? and thank you for the code."

Sorry, Roger! I don't know how I missed this! (Well, yes I do...) Nevertheless, I did answer the 1st question in an earlier comment, but I'll answer the second here. (Then I'll find the earlier one and tell you what number message it was, okay?)

So, as I mentioned, I never wrote fanfic or anything like that, and in fact never read it either. Luki and Sonny evolved out of characters in an earlier YA book I wrote, who had just insisted they needed a hot romance. I wrote a couple of shorts for different incarnations of them, but they just stayed with me. They are the reason I started writing in the genre, per se, although I did have earlier gay male stories, some romance-ish, some not, published on line and in print. So, when I had a novel done with Luki and Sonny, I went looking for a market. I found the genre when I found Dreamspinner!

The earlier message with the answer (or an answer) to your first question is 26. :) Thank you, very good questions!

Cut & Run by Abi Roux. Anything by SE Jakes. Shelly Laurenston's shifter books. The list is growing too.

Either sex for rats, but it's been my experience that the girls are just as affectionate, but more active. The boys are generally more laid back and will cuddle more.

Paul For some reason I think of a very haughty cat for Jackie :)

message 119: by Lou (new)

Lou Sylvre | 360 comments We've only got about 15 official minutes of chat time left so I'm throwing this out there now. I'm offering free books for honest reviews to the first five people who ask--reviews on good reads or Amazon unless you have a blog. The offer doesn't include the latest book, Because of Jade, but any of the earlier suspense books, or the novella Jade. I also won't take 2 people for the same book. You can PM me on Goodreads if you're interested, or email me at lou.sylvre@gmail.com. Any takers?

Series order for story chronology is:

Loving Luki Vasquez
Delsyn's Blues
Finding Jackie
Saving Sonny James
Yes
(Because of Jade)

Mtsnow13 | 88 comments Okay... Been thinking about other pet choices..as far as cats, there are some breeds that might fir them..I recall the main coons in another series.. Also, there are hybid cat breeds, but didn't know how you feel about them: http://www.cat-breed-info.com/hybrid-...

Makes me think how breeders raise wolf hybrids also.

Siamese have always seemed like the 'kings' of the domestic cats. Their piercing blue eyes give them an otherworld feel.

Maine Coon cats are fabulous! As soon as you said something about breeds, I thought of that. Nice idea--on the list of possibles. I may do a poll or something like I did to name Bear (Luki and Sonny's dog), make it a contest at some future time.

Not a bad idea--I used to think ferrets weren't good pets, but Lena has changed my mind. I don't know if they're best in pairs, though, or single. Lena?

Lou Sylvre | 360 comments Mtsnow13 wrote: "Lou, is the YA book available? I enjoy YA, too."

It's currently in the process of being re-published by Harmony Ink. The story is somewhat revised so I think it's worth the wait. Should be out in the fall. My penname for that is Lou Hoffmann. As a point of interest, for the first time I created a concept image as an example for the art department. This is it. It'll give you an idea of what kind of book it is!
