Trying to find out what pets are legal there! I had a truly goofy goldfish, but those don't lend themselves to fiction. Maybe a small bird or something...

Maybe a small terrier for a pet. Something small and queit, but affectionate.

They're pretty wrapped up in each other, almost but not quite too much so. I know one or two couples like that in real life, or almost, but it's rare. I'm glad I got to write it for them!
How did you start writing? and how did you get interested in writing M/M? and thank you for the code.
I can't read anything that mentions Brian and Jackie as I haven't read those yet... But so glad to hear they all are still talking to you!

I think a parrot is a cool pet (have an African grey) except you have to be VERY careful what they overhear.., had mine for 23 years, and he's supposed to live for 80! Having to make sure all comments are PG has been a challenge with my kids...wonder what the bird would overhear at Brian and Jackie's?

I love feeling like we get to grow along with them, and that the trials they go thru seem very realistic..but still being able to see a way out of a misunderstanding saves it.

Well, it's looking like there will not be a video excerpt during the chat! I'll post it here later though, if you care to come back. Meantime, first another regular old excerpt, this one from Finding Jackie, since we were talking about the WIP with Brian and Jackie, and it's pretty PG. :) This is Luki interacting with the much younger Brian, a brand new agent in Luki's security company.LUKI pushed up on Sonny’s ass to help him get out of the tub, which apparently tickled or something because Sonny giggled and moved a little quicker. Just as Luki started to rise out of the water himself, his cell phone buzzed.
“Sonny,” he said, “I really, really hate that damn buzz. You’ve got to help me get a ringtone.” While making this complaint, he was also trying to hurry, only to discover his legs had turned to rubber during their extended bath-related activities. He did get out of the tub okay, but tripped and staggered as if he were drunk, picked up his phone, and did a face-plant.
“Damn, Luki. You’re lucky that bed was there.” Sonny picked up Luki’s phone—which had stopped buzzing—off the floor where it had fallen, and handed it to him.
Once Luki was seated upright, he discovered Brian Harrison had called him. He hit the button to call back, and waited only seconds.
“Mr. Vasquez. Thanks for calling me back.”
“What’s up, Brian?”
“Well, um… Kim, you know?”
Luki sighed and rolled his eyes, wondering first if he’d hired the youngest agent in the history of the security business, and second if he himself had ever been that young. “Yes, I know, of course I know. What about her?”
“She went to the hospital… to have the baby I mean… she’s not hurt or anything.”
“Is there news?”
“No.” Brian cleared his throat, then said, “Um… I’ll tell you when I hear more.”
“Don’t worry about it, Brian. Kim and I are more or less friends. She’ll probably call.”
“Oh. Okay, sorry.”
Luki tried to catch Sonny’s attention to thank him for
the ice water he’d poured and set on Luki’s bedside table. Failing to do that, he returned his attention to Brian. “Don’t be sorry,” he said. “What else?”
“Rita’s settled at the hotel, and I gave her your instructions. I made sure she has everything she needs and I’ll patrol around there. Seems pretty safe, though.”
“Should be. It’s only one night, then she’ll be moving into the hostel. Thanks for taking care of the whole process on short notice.”
“No problem, boss. Thanks for trusting me to do it.”
“Speaking of such, Brian. You know Kim is usually my go-to agent. I generally keep her close to me and keep her in the loop about anything that’s going down so she can be ready to help if I need her. I guess… you’re a little too green to fill her shoes entirely, Brian, but she trusts you. Kim sings your praise. So while she’s out, I want you to be ready to go anywhere I tell you to go and get whatever job it is done, with a minimum of screwin’ around. That means knowing where I’m at. You’ll have to keep your cell charged. Check in with me, or if you can’t reach me, get in touch with Jude. And don’t be drunk, high, or hung over at any time. Can you manage? It’s actually more responsibility than it sounds like.”
“Sure! I mean, thanks, Mr. Vasquez. I’ll do my best…. Um, can I ask a question?”
“Questions are a good way to get information, so yeah, if there’s something you need to know, ask.”
“Where will you be?”
“Here for a couple days—staying at the Monaco—then Nebraska. Oak Flats. My uncle’s house.”
“Oh. Kaholo. Jackie lives there.”
“Right. Josh, too.”
“And the dog?”
“No, Bear lives with Sonny and me.”
“Oh. Was that nosy?”
“No.”
“Oh.”
Brian stopped there, so Luki rolled his eyes again.
Apparently the young man wanted a pat on the back,
Luki thought. He said, “No, that wasn’t nosy. I told you to know where I was at, right? So you took steps to get that information—maybe a little extra. That’s fine.” Unwilling to hear another “Oh,” Luki continued without pause. “Good night, Brian. Let me know about Rita, tomorrow.” He pushed End Call before he could be sure Brian was talking.
He rolled his eyes one more time for good measure, guzzled his water. Kissed Sonny quick, hard, wet, and sweet. He said, “Thanks, baby,” and fell back on the bed. Sleep was crowding all around, and he let it take him, barely aware enough to feel Sonny cover him with a soft blanket and hear him whisper, “Sweet dreams.”
