Finished The Late Show and Past Crimes . Both are first books (figured I'd get in on the ground floor with a Connelly series) and introduce two likable protagonists in Renee Ballard and Van Shaw, respectively. I enjoyed both and plan to continue with both series.

I've read good things about that series.

I really have enjoyed it. Another series to read in order, the main character is an eccentric archaeologist who teaches somewhere in Norwich, England. There's a whole cast that reappears, including most of the local police department, when Ruth is involved in helpng (unwittingly) to solve cases.

The books are so short (usually right at or just under 300 pages) that I can read one in a day. I've already finished Veiled and am now on book seven, Burned .
