Watcha Doin' - 2017.1 edition

So sorry for all the doctors needed in this thread! Hope everyone can get and stay healthy.

That had to have hurt Kimey!
Speaking of doctors, I was watching America Has Talent last night. The last performer was a young doctor - 29 years old, family medicine. He had a beautiful voice and the judges gave him a standing ovation. When they rolled the credits, they had a tribute to him. I googled and learned that shortly after the auditions, he was killed in a car accident. So very sad.

And there we were thinking we would be home early today.. at least it happened now and not on our way to Norway!

I hope you make it home safely!

Good for you Peggy.
I hope your help arrives soon... It's been 31 mins since you wrote the 90 mins message, so that's under an hour left ; )

We've had trips start out bad twice. Once, we had to catch a flight and had a flat tire. We got there just in time. The second time we picked up debris from the road, gouging a hole in the gas tank. We were about 6 hours late getting to our destination. You don't want something like that to happen on a deserted road on a Sunday when repair shops in a small town are shut down and no cities for hundreds of miles.

I'm leaving in an hour or so to go spend the weekend with my husband. I am taking two of our nieces with me for a little mini vacation for them. They are 12 and 14 (15 next week). Hopefully no car problems for us and that the weather stays good so we can go to the beach one day! I'm looking forward to the trip and wishing the clock would stop moving so slowly!

Our car broke when we were starting a trip, only 50 km into the trip, 300 km to go. We had 5 kids at the time. My mom lent us her so we didn't have to cancel everything. Our car needed to be at the shop for more than a week.

Kimey, what book did you end up going with for your trip with your nieces?

We had to wait 2 hours for the tow truck, but we're finally home!
Enjoy your trip KimeyDian!

Good luck Lisa
Hope everything went well with your uncle Margo.

Lisa fingers crossed you'll get good news.

How was the surgery Margo?"
It went OK. He's in ICU now on a ventilator which is as expected. All looking good so far but god knows when we'll get to talk to a doctor. He himself will not be speak for some time as he is breathing through a tube in his throat which will stay in for at least a week and then speech therapy will begin. The enforced silence will be very hard on him as that man does love to talk! Thanks for asking Sarah :-)

That's good to hear Margo. Yes I bet it will be frustrating not being able to speak as much as he would like. You'll all get a break though ;-)

Glad to hear your uncle's surgery went okay, Margo. You should make the most of the enforced silence ;)

I'm glad there is no sign of MS but I'm sure ME is not fun. I know what it's like to battle cronic tiredness and general malaise. It's no picnic ;-)

I'm glad there is no..."
Thanks, Margo. No, ME is no fun at all. The chronic tiredness is awful but it also causes me a lot of pain all over my body, as well as a number of secondary symptoms which come and go. At least I have a chance of recovering from it, whereas you have next to no chance of recovering from MS. I'm sorry to hear you also suffer from chronic tiredness and malaise. Are you able to control it with medication or treatment?

Margo, glad to hear your uncle is on the healing side of the surgery. I'm sure it will be frustrating for him to be silent.

Lisa, knowledge is power. In case at some point it has any consequence in your health, you will be a step ahead knowing about the issue.

Yeah I know a bit about neurologists! 12 years ago I had a stroke-like incident which left me with moderate brain damage, a right-side weakness and a host of other symptoms. As for meds, you name it, I probably take it :(

Sorry to hear that, Margo. It's not fun being on loads of medication is it? I take a number of different ones too. Most of them cause side effects as well :(

I've decided today is a mental health day and I'm going to play on the computer and read. I have lots of snacks and wine and good books to keep me satisfied. Tomorrow I'll update my list of all the crap I need to do and then start tackling it on Monday. I hope everyone is making time to relax for a while this weekend!

Good for you! I was going to sew for a while, but I've decided to read instead. I can sew tomorrow.

My parents came to visit earlier and we went out for a nice meal. I think we might have finished all the sanding in the bathroom and bedroom now. What a crap job. Luckily it's my partner who has been doing it and not me but the dust gets everywhere. Tomorrow we can start painting. It's going to look so different once it's done.

After getting stuck in a 2 hour tail back on the was home yesterday I'm in the mood for some action today! Choices are swimming of dejunking my bedroom drawers.
What's the betting I end up slumped in front of the TV for the day??

Travis your family is certainly going through the mill right now. I am very proud of my uncle (the one with cancer is the only one that I have left) as he is an alcoholic who has been dry for 12 years and counting! He had the will power to pull himself up from rock bottom. That takes great courage.
