Heather LiteratureChick (literaturechick) DHASG 2017 Dangerous Hero Create your own Reading Adventure Yearly Challenge
Timeline: January 1, 2017 to December 31, 2017.

Cross-reads from other challenges are allowed (I.e. Books you are already using in other challenges). You are allowed to use other elements other than those listed below in my examples. Those are just suggestions to get you started. The element can be something from the book summary you learn (such as the person/character being afraid), it doesn't have to be demonstrated on the cover necessarily.

For this challenge, start off with a book in which the cover or title represents your favourite Dangerous Hero. From there, choose an element from the previous book (the cover, the author's name, or a word in the title) and choose a book that represents that element in the cover or a word in the title and so on for all your book selections.

Example: One of my favourite Dangerous Heroes is Rhage from BDB series so I will use his book as my starting point with The Beast (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #14) by J.R. Ward . Then I will choose my second book as Her Every Fear by Peter Swanson because there is blue in the cover. My third book could be a book that features a character named "Peter" after the author, a book in which a character is afraid, or a book with black in the cover, or a book with black or blue in the title.

Just explain what element each book meets from your previous book selection. For the first book you can explain why the Dangerous Hero you chose is your favorite.

Reading Levels:
1. Extreme Adventure: 20-30 books.
2. All Inclusive Adventure: 10-20 books.
3. Staycation Adventure: 0-10 books.

1) I don't see a length here and
2) The example and instructions don't match. The example shows an characteristic that could be the same but the instructions don't allow that. Which is correct.

I'm asking before I commit

The first book (The Beast) is for my favourite dangerous hero. Book 2 (Her Every Fear) is a book cover that features the colour blue, which I took from my first book selection (The Beast). I hope this makes sense. It was not easy to find an easy way to explain the idea. Hope this helps.

didn't help. The issue is in the example you used a character trait but you didn't say character trait was allowed. So if it's an option you need to say a character trait can be included. If it's not where the example says he was afraid was common needs to be taken out.

also you didn't say how long the challenge is. is it a 12month, open ended, etc?

There are no limits to your first book selected other than it should represent your favorite dangerous hero. The timeline is now posted at the top (Sorry, this is the first time I have posted a challenge). Each book you choose does not have to link with ALL your selected books. Check out my post. Don't know what else I can add. The characteristic of being afraid can be something you gather from the book plot summary, it doesn't have to be proven by the book cover or the title.

Netanella | 195 comments I love this challenge! I need to find my first "intro" dangerous hero book, then I will post my books as the themes (cover, color, name, topic, item) lead me. I will try to limit my selections to books with dangerous heroes in them, although they may not always be a romantic lead!

Welcome Netanella! Hope you have fun choosing your books and enjoy the challenge. I tried to make most of my books involve a dangerous hero as well.
