Jean | 359 comments Just finished Sue Grafton's twenty-fifthKinsey Milhone novel, Y is for Yesterday Y is for Yesterday (Kinsey Millhone, #25) by Sue Grafton . This series is always fun and a bit nostalgic for those of us who actually lived in those decades (even if the author does confuse things a bit in this one).

Barbara (cinnabarb) | 10022 comments Beartown Beartown by Fredrik Backman by Fredrik Backman

Beartown is a Swedish village that's down on its luck but sees possible redemption with the success of it's junior ice hockey team. When the squad's star player is accused of assault, Beartown becomes a 'house divided.' Good story, well-written - but the premise is disturbing to me.....so 3 stars.

Well, I finally finished the last books I'm reading for the 1860s segment of my book challenge, Revelations of a Lady Detective, by William Stephens Hayward and The Female Detective, by Andrew Forrester. Hayward's book is much, much better but I'm glad I read both of them.

Autumn (autumnmemory80) | 374 comments I just finished Little Monsters by Kara Thomas and it will be one of my favorite books of the year. Some compare it to PLL, and that is an insult in my opinion. I think this is worthy of the comparison of Gone Girl, an exception to the rule. This may be YA, but anyone would love it. Highly recommended!

Sean Peters | 155 comments Finding Gobi The true story of a little dog and an incredible journey by Dion Leonard

What Can I say.... I missed this story and the internet chaos the first time around...

But I am so happy with this book I know the story thankfully!

This his an incredible heart warming, touching, fantastic story, with warmth, humble that touches your heart, more so if like me you are an animal lover....

I understand fully how the love of an animal can touch your heart, so much and would have done exactly the same as Dion....

This is not only a story of an incredible dog, but of an incredible couple, who changed their lives for six months to bring back the lovely dog Gobi...

Dion writes this book from the heart, and his story explains his character, a story that shows the man he is, a man that I admire and respect for his heart and courage to battle through some hard times.

A story that touches you, how good mankind can be, how a story touches many people all around the world, especially one lady who followed the story from the start everyday...

The heartache and worry, I felt it so much, just loosing my cat from the garden for a couple of hours and I think my heart will break !

Loved this book, loved the story of greatness, support and touching humanity. Dion tells this story so well...

Dion thanks, and keep hold of that great wife that supported you 100% and a firm that you worked for that gave you such great support...

Lizzie and Diesel have to retrieve a cache of 'special stones' (with supernatural powers) before the bad guys get them. Some funny characters in this book, but it's not as good as Evanovich's 'Stephanie Plum' series. 2.5 stars

I love that book. My advice to anyone thinking of reading it is the same as yours -- get the movie out of your head before reading the novel.

Amateur sleuth Gemma Doyle runs the "Sherlock Holmes Bookstore and Emporium." When someone hides a VERY valuable collectible in Gemma's store - then gets murdered - Gemma uses her Sherlockian skills to find the killer. Good story but somewhat of an unlikely plot. However, I loved the homages to Holmes. 3 stars
