Yes. There wasn't any further character development, a few parts dragged and there were far too many flashbacks.

I'm additionally going to move Throne of Glass to the abandoned pile. I read the first two books with my tween and I didn't hate it like some people do. However since she's sprinted ahead and finished the series I have no reason to continue and haven't in over a year. With so much else to read I'm happy to let it go.

Thus 5 open series down from 30 something when I started.

Only 4 open series left. This will be my low water mark. I'm pretty content and this challenge has been a success. As long as I stay below ten I'm good.

Working on Malazan and Broken Earth but have not tried the other 3 yet. I started trying to wait until a series was finished or almost finished before starting just in case the author takes so long I forget the books.

26th completed series. This series had been up to date with the last book just coming out.

The Empty Grave 5/5 Lockwood.

Very good middle school UF series done on audio. Highly recommended as a family read for young kids. Nothing too scary with our ghost hunting agency. Lots of cheeky humor.

Holy cow Scott. You've read 149 books this year and it's only October. I just can't read that fast. Great job on completing so many series. I believe my next years challenges will concentrate on series. You inspired me. : )

Well to be fair a third of my books are audio but thanks for the compliment. I went from 35-ish open series all the way down to a low of 4 so this has definitely been successful. I've started some new ones but I'll never let it get out of control again. I expect I'll have a continuous rotation of been 5-15 open which is fine.

A couple of borderline books I went onto book two and then quit because it hadn't progressed. However a lot of borderline series I went on to finish because they got better. I don't consider abandoned open because I'm never giving them another shot. I have roughly 20 abandoned.

I have a list of all my abandoned series but didn't bother posting them. Likewise I have a list of up to date but series isn't published to it's conclusion as of now.
