I do want to see the words "verified purchase". I did some checking. Some of your reviews do say "verified purchase" on them.

All righty Dwayne. Thanks!Me: Jessica Jesinghaus, Amazon link https://www.amazon.com/Jessica-Jesing...
My first indie suggestion is
https://www.amazon.com/Temptation-Dra... Loved its quirky humor & fantasy. Second indie suggestion

Hi Dwayne. My reviews are on Amazon UK but I've put the link for my .com author page.
Here goes:

I would have been screaming at you to read EM Swift Hook but the Zon won't let me review her stuff because the girl is my bud, just one link anyway.
Dues of Blood
Sure--I have some suggestions:First, my page: https://www.amazon.com/William-C-Trac...
My Suggestions:
The Deadliest Echo:
a great WWII/Sci Fi story with some mystery involved.https://www.amazon.com/Deadliest-Echo...
Paternus:
a hard to describe book, but lots of mythology and fantasy involved. I guess an urban fantasy?https://www.amazon.com/Paternus-Dyrk-...
Gearspire:
This is the first book in a dark steampunk fantasy.https://www.amazon.com/Gearspire-Adve...
Mine is Tillie Madison vs. RealityFor swords-and-sorcery epic fantasy, try: Heir of Iron
A surprisingly-good (to me) more personal fantasy novel: Thief Who Pulled on Trouble's Braids
Finally, a very-meta look at what some people might do to achieve indie success: Status Quo
All indies. Long live indies!
Hmm... Well, judging from this first day it looks like I will not need to be drawing names from the hat and I will get to keep part of that fifty dollars. Good news for Jessica, Jane, William and P.L.

Hey Dwayne, I'll join in. Here is my Amazon page:https://www.amazon.com/Nat-Kennedy/e/...
My reviews on Amazon are under another name... oh well.
Here are some Indy Books I've read and enjoyed. (most of the Indy books I read are gay romance. ;) )
Damian's Workshop: https://www.amazon.com/Damians-Worksh...
It's historical/time travel fiction with a hint of romance.
Breaker's of the Code:
https://www.amazon.com/Breakers-Code-...
Porny computer game fantasy. I'm sure you know all about this.
Open Minds:
https://www.amazon.com/Open-Minds-Min...
YA Distopia
I have a pile more to read on my kindle, but those I've read recently and enjoyed.
Hey Dwayne, I'm still enjoying that shot glass, I just have to drink ten times as many coffee shots is all, lol. Here's me page: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01IMX...
Here's some recommendations. Does it count if one of them belongs to the great writer running this show?
(currently reading, so no review)
I've read tons of great indies. To my shame, I've reviewed like 15% of them. I don't like to write reviews.Anyways, I THINK (emphasis on think) you'd enjoy this one.
https://www.amazon.com/Divine-Impulse...
Oh, Nathan, Nathan, Nathan. *hands over two gallon sized coffee mug* Flattery will get you everywhere.
One clarification guys. The recommendations do not have to be books that I might like. They should be books you liked (or didn't). Really, this is all about encouraging Indies to read Indie work.

Ooh, ooh.
*eagerly snatches mug*
Now I'll only have to refill every 20 minutes instead of two. What else can flattery get me?
Did I mention that Miss Addy is one of my favorite people?
Nathan wrote: "Did I mention that Miss Addy is one of my favorite people? "
That's funny. Addy says the same thing about you.

Curious. Just curious here.
Has anyone heard that there was a suicide on the set of The Wizard of Oz? And, yes, this is in relation to one of the hundreds of projects I'm working on.

Okay. What I know is that there is a a popular belief that one of the munchkins hung himself on set. Might be true. Might be an urban myth. There's even a school of thought that suggests you can see the hanging figure in some frames of the film.
I'd hesitate to say yes or no, because it could be true and if it was the studios wielded enough power to have it hushed up. Equally it could be bollocks.
Dunno if that helps. J
I've heard of this and I've also heard that you can see the hanging body, but that, like Jane said, this is an urban legend.
I can't recall the last time I was dead serious about anything. How dare you!
*smirk* Hmmph! *grin*
*smirk* Hmmph! *grin*
You mean tge guy who hung himself on the forest set? He's in the backdrop of one of the tree shots. Well, paper trees anyways.

Total urban myth, but a highly infectious one!
Jessica wrote: "...but a highly infectious one! "
Indeed. I've been a bit obsessed with the legend for some time. I'm about to publish an essay on it and see how it flies.

Dwayne wrote: "Curious. Just curious here.Has anyone heard that there was a suicide on the set of The Wizard of Oz? And, yes, this is in relation to one of the hundreds of projects I'm working on."
Yes. It's a half-urban legend. Only half as there is actually a manipulated version, where the original bird was replaced by a hanging figure.
Here is one of the videos showing it.
It doesn't make any sense anyway... Those trees wouldn't be able to hold someone jumping full weight on them. Also, the figure is still hanging. With a set full of people, it would be interesting if nobody noticed someone prepping the rope, climb and jump with everyone looking in that direction.
Oh. I just noticed one of the main topics is about book suggestions in the hope of cookies :)Me'own Amazon. I mean page: https://www.amazon.com/Zolt%C3%A1n-P%...
A suggestion:
Rayne: Luminescence (reviewed)
Heard about that one when I was a teenager. I remember pausing the movie every 5 min with my friends while we squinted to see if there was anything to see :D more than anything, I noticed Dorothy's hair would randomly change lengths throughout the film haha.
Sorry might be out of subject but what Marie says about Dorothy's hair...I so love watching a show or a movie and seeing things change from scene to scene: Costumes, hair, etc. Yesterday I was watching a tv show and the guy held a lit light bulb in his right hand and told Tesla, "Oh that is how the light is on when I hold it in my LEFT hand."
Fun fun fun!
Fun fun fun!
Okay, eff it! I wanna play too!!Here's my Amazon Page: http://amazon.com/author/anniearcane
And some of my absolute fave indie reads, most of which aren't even romance haha!

Oh, and I heard about the suicide-on-set ages ago. Think I was still in highschool? Maybe?
And to continue the derail train with Misses Marie and GG, I think it's hilarious when stuff changes. In "A Walk to Remember", there's a spot when he's walking to the library wearing a long-sleeve t-shirt, then it shows him entering the library in a short-sleeve button down. Oh, and some weird wind in the hair scenes too. Like, windy one second, then not, then totes windy again LOL
Dwayne wrote: "I am setting aside fifty dollars to buy your Kindle ebooks! Now, I know some of you publish other ways, but Kindle is my preferred way of reading these days, so I am only interested in buying your ..."Hi Dwayne. Thanks for doing this.
Since you're obviously into humor, I'd like to submit my just released novella titled "Women 101: A Father's Guide To His Son" (Link: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06XJ6HZWK/...) for your consideration. I'm currently selling the eBook version for 99 cents USD for a limited time (at least until April 15th).
I have a few Indie publications that I'd recommend. The first is a novel titled "The Secrets Jar". (Link: https://www.amazon.ca/Secrets-Jar-Pen...)
The second is "Deep Six" (Link: https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B01BGHUTBK/r...)
And the third is "The Woman" (Link: https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B005VIR5IQ/r...)
Note that my reviews of these books appear on the Amazon.ca website since I'm north of the 49th parallel.
Guys. I don't have a lot of rules in my thread here, but one is this - there is no such thing as a derailed topic. I love it when topics go in new and interesting directions. As long as y'all be nice to each other, I'm cool.
I'm at work right now and really "busy" *rolls eyes*, but I will comment further when I get home.

Yes! There's a lot of fun little things you'll notice when you watch the film close a time or two. Did you ever notice when the balloon takes off at the end... The Tin Man is the one who untied it! I don't think it was supposed to be caught on film.

One of my favorite mistakes in a film is in Pee Wee's Big Adventure. Pee Wee is driving a car at night and there are some shots from his point of view, showing what is supposed to be the car approaching signs, but if you look close you can see that the car is stationary and the signs are on a dolly track being pulled toward the car. Seems like it was more obvious in the theater (I saw it four times) than on TV or video.
I found it on YouTube, but there is a thing that pops up, pointing it out which actually makes it harder to see.

I am giving two of my ghost stories a much needed facelift. These are two of my best sellers. Maybe having decent covers for a change will help them take off a bit more?
Christina wrote: "I like! The font works well for Tink. Definitely a retro Vegas vibe."
Thank you! This is the fifth cover for Tink and the first I truly like.

Thank you, Jane!
India, the original cover is much like it, soft and no color, just a lot of grays and it's always been one of my favorites, but it was a drawing. I'm learning Gimp, little by little, and finally learning how to layer photos and merge them to get the effects I needed. So, I'm excited to see my old cover come to "life" as a photo, now.
M.L., if you want to know the story, well... There's this man named Charlie who goes off to Las Vegas and... nah. I can't tell the story here! I do offer the book for free fairly often, though.
Marie, The second is my favorite, too. BUT! This if the fifth time I've done a cover for Tink and finally have one I actually like!

I really like both! Tink was initially eye-catching, and Summerwind took me a moment to appreciate, but I may like that one just as well if not better...especially because it appears to be a wintry scene with a warm title and I like the juxtaposition.

Hey, everyone. If you have ever wondered why the mean mod is so mean, this is why. I'm forever creating more work for her.
According to emails and my bookshelf, they are both live now. When I do the Look Inside feature, I can see the new covers. But, when browsing Amazon, the old covers are still showing. It always takes a long time for that to catch up.

Thanks! I was going for cold and ghosty. Also, calm. I know that's odd for a ghost story, but the it is an eerily calm story at first.

When I decided to call the mansion in the story Summerwind, I knew that should be the title of the story and then set it in winter, just for that reason. (Also, that way I could snow the victims characters in, making escape much harder once things go all haywire.
I swear, when I chose the name and chose to set the story in Wisconsin, I did not know that there really is a mansion in Wisconsin called Summerwind and said mansion is also allegedly haunted.
