Well, Dan, considering Ambrosia wrote this between 2004 and 2015... yes. She was drunk. She was only drunk once in her life and it was during those years.
She won't ask you anything, Christina. She's dead.
Jane... all I can say is, when it is done, it will be just like and nothing like any writing guide you've ever seen.

Last week I offered two books for free, the fifth and sixth personal least favorites of the stories I have published thus far. This week we go to number three and number four. Now, I do not hate any of the things I have published. If I did, I would not have published them. It’s just that compared to my other works, these are the weakest.
First is my zombie story, Z.I.T.S. The problem I had was – I wanted to write a zombie story that was not like any other zombie story ever. I worked and worked and worked this thing and finally just turned it into a comedy, since nothing else I tried was working. And, so, it works pretty well as a comedy, but it falls flat as a zombie story. Without the humor, you’re left with a pretty generic tale of zombies.

My third least favorite of my books is Sarah with the Black Hoodie. This is a compilation of some stuff I wrote back in the 1990s. Some of it I really love. There’s a poem in there that is, I think, one of the best things I’ve ever written. There’s also a bittersweet story that is a near replication of a story I wrote back when I was in college. There are some lower forms of literature, though. Little Slaughterhouse In the Big Woods is not terribly great. I’m not sure if it’s a good idea poorly done or just a poor idea. The title story... I still think it’s hilarious. But, I believe I’m the only one. It’s pretty much all an inside joke, one of those “you had to be there” kind of things. Oh. And there are two versions of that story, a “clean” version and a “dirty” one.

These are both free on Jan. 14th and 15th.

Thanks, Jane. I grabbed your mystery book yesterday, too. I thought I already had it, but found out I didn't. Now I do!
If you have been paying attention, you know that I have been giving away my worst books this month. I'll repeat that I do not think these books are terrible. I like them all, but something has to be the worst, right? Nothing I have published has been perfect. These are the ones I find the most problematic in retrospect.
This week I'm only giving away one book, my second least favorite in all of my stories. It's called Rachel, Roswell & The Alien.
In everything I do, I challenge myself to attempt something new. In this one, I challenged myself to have two main characters that were almost identical in every way. Hindsight tells me that wasn't such a great idea. It's a little tough to tell the difference between Rachel and Roswell as they are equally clueless and talk much like one another. I also had this idea of having Rachel (or is it Roswell?) speak "British" off and on through the story. I'm not sure it comes across as funny to the reader as it sounds in my head.
What do I like about it? Several things. I do like the scenes with the Senior citizens. The alien is a fun character, too. And Rachel and Roswell actually served as early prototypes for Del and Lamar in my novel Rave On, only Del and Lamar are about ten times smarter and are not that hard to tell apart. It actually has one of my favorite covers, too.
Love it or hate it, it's free on Jan. 21 and 22.

That's exactly what I'm not doing. Or am I?
I just figured that since December was spent on the books of which I'm proudest, why not admit the ones I am least proud? January tends to be a slow month for me, anyway. Might as well do something silly for promos.

Oh, wow, guys. I forgot to set up my least favorite book published (so far) to be free for this weekend. So, I have it set up to be free on Monday the 30th and Tuesday the 31st.
So, what is it? It's a horror comedy thing called "Cliché".
https://goo.gl/z2LYYH
I do like the concept of it, still. I tried to come up with every ridiculous horror story cliché and turn it into a story.
Some parts are enjoyable. I like the first half or so. But, the pacing is way off on the second half, I see now. I think I was afraid that it was coming across as a one-joke story and I was attempting to keep it as short as possible and ended up making it too short. I do like the ending, though.

Tuesdays in February will feature my love stories.
Feb. 7th, I will be giving away Ladybug Boy.
https://goo.gl/KxHYvQ
Thirteen-year-old Lola Grimes is about to have her home invaded by her twin brother's annoying friends. She's not pleased, until she learns that one of the boys coming is Claude, The Ladybug Boy, whom she has had a crush on for almost two full weeks! Will Lola's attempts to get Claude to notice her work, or will she end the weekend miserable and alone as always?

Come hell or high water, Ambrosia Corazon-Reine's Writing It Right For Writers will be published on Feb. 20th.
What is this? It's a parody of all the rotten, ill-conceived, poorly written, pretentious and smug writer's guides out there. I'm sure you've all read a few.
I am putting a price of 99 cents on it until March 1st, then it goes up to 2.99. Aside from Rave On, I have never been this excited about one of my works. I think all writers who can have a sense of humor about our art, about our books and about ourselves will get a kick out of it.

I've been pretty quiet with my marketing myself for the last couple of months. Winter is always slow for me, so why bother? But, I do plan to hit this one hard. I do think most writers would enjoy it.

I'm honored, Dan. I hope it's worth the wait.

I will be picking it up as well, with gloves on of course

The Six People You Meet In Creative Writing Workshop is on Listopia, which is cool in itself (thank you, you overly supportive fans), but the placement is interesting. It is right below a book called Bandersnatch and two places above Breakfast of Champions.
The main character of The Six People You Meet In Creative Writing Workshop is named Ben Chad Starn, an anagram for Bandersnatch, and not only is Breakfast of Champions one of my favorite novels, I nearly published with the pen name Dwayne Hoover, after the main character of that novel.

Oh frabjous day, caloo, callay
Every time I fall asleep with socks on, I wake up feeling like Kilgore Trout after trying to cross the polluted creek.
This week's Cupid Tuesday deal is the price of Rave On, my romantic comedy novel, has been dropped to $2.99 for one day only.

Thanks Dan!
And thank you, Jane! I'm away for the weekend. I may not be able to be on much, so I won't be doing any mad promoting myself for a few days. But, I intend to hit it hard when I can.

Oh! I lied! See, I'm on a weekend with the wife... since we both had to work Valentines day. The last time we stayed at this hotel I could not get onto wifi, but it's working this time!

*grin* I hope you guys like it as much as I do. This is one of my favorites. I thought it would be just another silly book like Tempest Moody and Addy Vice, but this one has some deep subtext that came out in the last rewrite. (Well, deeper than Tempest or Addy, anyway).

haha I like Addy Vice for a name! Maybe you mentioned it before but I just caught it now. *blush*

Miss Addy Vice, none the less.
Well, I'm in the lobby again. The internet in this joint is about as spotty as a Dalmatian.

As some of you know, I don't like to talk about my numbers, but I will say this... Ambrosia had the third best release day of all my books. So, thank you to all who bought the book and helped promote!
If you're still considering it, it is only 99 cents until the first of March, then it inflates to 2.99.

Parts of her are laugh-out-loud funny and parts are sort of cringeworthy. I love it. And I wonder where it is going....
