The Foxhole Court just so fucking gooD mmhhm 10/10, more like 100000/10. Too good for words, incredible. Thanku jesus mary and joseph for bringing it into my life

"The Chilbury Ladies' Choir" by Jennifer Ryan (ARC ... due for release in February, I believe)
"Lillian Boxfish Takes a Walk" by Kathleen Rooney (ARC ... coming in January)
"The Silver Star" by Jeannette Walls

I also really liked reading Ink, The Moon in the Palace, Stars Above, Silver in the Blood, and Salt to the Sea, even though two of those didn't come out this year.

The mortal instrument series
Off-Campus series
A court of roses and thornes
The lunar chronicles series

Oh and A Monster Calls was amazing.

But these are so close for the first place:
Illuminae
The Maze Runner
Doctor Sleep

We Were Liars - E. Lockhart (this book broke me)
Me Before You - Jojo Moyes (naturally)
The Kill Order - James Dashner (it was nice revisiting one of my favourite series, even if it was a prequel)
Execution - Alexander Gordon Smith (glad to be done with this series but really enjoyed how it ended)

Macbeth - it's my favourite Shakespeare thus far
Voices from Chernobyl - this book made me cry, no, bawl - when I finished it my boyfriend held me. If you love history and you love humanism-type books, read it. You won't be disappointed.
A Nightmare at 20 000 feet - by Richard Matheson. This book is fantastic and suitably scary.
My Grandmother sends Her Regards and Apologises - This is probably the big that hit me the hardest this year, since my grandmother died last year and was not unlike the granny in the book. the Prose is beautiful.
The Lathe of Heaven - Ursula K leGuin - she is my favourite female author, other than Mary Shelley. This book is a wonderful dystopian/utopian outlook on dreams, love, the future and the past.
A Scanner Darkly - I love this book. This book is trippy with the best book ending since the Wizard of Earthsea, which I also read this year.

Awesome! Thanks!

I've been meaning to read The Haunting of Hill House.

The first 3 Harry Potter books ( haven't finished the series yet)
Red Queen
Glass Sword
Rule of Thoughts
Game of Lives

I really enjoyed The Perks of Being a Wallflower; The Merciless 1 & 2; The 5th Wave; The Prodigal Son; The Caster Chronicles; and the Empress Sisi books. There are a ton more but those are the ones that really stood out for me. They are all on my favorites shelves if any of you wanna check them out! :D

I hope you read the rest of the series. It's really good!
