Hey, Amanda! You could use Xanth, from the Xanth series by Piers Anthony. The first book is A Spell for Chameleon.
Also, Xanadu from Coleridge's Kubla Khan.
Aww, I hate when there's no specified location. The info on the Thirteen Reasons Why page says that the setting is San Luis Obispo, California. I haven't read the book though, so I don't know if this is stated outright in the story or not.
I hope something here helps! :D

Should I f..."
Try finding a book that has locations in China. Several of the locations in China start with an X.
But if you can't, Brave New World will defiantly count. Did you enjoy the book. I didn't like it when I read it, but I think that's because I was forced to read it for school. Now I look back and realize how great that book really is.

If you truly get stuck, in the past we have given a little leeway.
Example:

Thank you for letting it count :-) I will take your advise and look for some books located in China - as well as checking EVERY book I read for X-locations, haha...
About the book - it wasn't really my cup of tea, to be honest... I would have thought reading it at a younger age would be more fun, but perhaps not if you are forced to in school :-)

I- Island Books bookstore - Grāmatnieks, kurš atrada dzīvi /Gabrielle Zevin

This was so fun, and I loved to see the books and locations that everyone else used (especially for the harder letters, such as X).
Here's my finished list.
A- Ararat from Gears of the City by Felix Gilman
B- Belle River, New Hampshire from It's Always the Husband by Michelle Campbell
C- Casterbridge from The Mayor of Casterbridge by Thomas Hardy
D- Datil, New Mexico from Eleventh Grave in Moonlight by Darynda Jones
E-Eastern Commonwealth from Scarlet by Marissa Meyer

J- Jurisfiction fromLost in a Good Book by Jasper Fforde
K- Kerrith from Rebecca by Daphne duMaurier
L- Luna from Cress by Marissa Meyer
M- Malawi from The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind: Creating Currents of Electricity and Hope by William Kamkwamba
N- New Beijing from Cinder by Marissa Meyer
O- Olympus from The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan
P- Paris from The Hunchback of Notre-Dame by Victor Hugo
Q- Quebec from The Bond: Our Kinship with Animals, Our Call to Defend Them by Wayne Pacelle
R- Red Sea from Around the World in Eighty Days by Jules Verne

U- Ukraine from Chernobyl 01:23:40: The Incredible True Story of the World's Worst Nuclear Disaster by Andrew Leatherbarrow

W- Wales from The White Queen by Philippa Gregory
X- Xampenet Tavern from The Shadow of the Wind by Carlos Ruiz Zafon
Y- Yorkshire from Dracula by Bram Stoker
Z- Zimbabwe from We Need New Names by NoViolet Bulawayo

X is tricky! I got mine while reading The Shadow of the Wind. Xampenet Tavern was not a major setting, but it worked for me!
The book I had planned to read for X was The Dream of Perpetual Motion which takes place in Xeroville. I've read it before, and I loved it, but I'll admit that it is not for everyone.
Good luck finding a book!

Hey Amanda, I tried to find books by looking for 'books set in places that start with an X' on the internet and didn't find many. However, one that obviously is set in Xenia, Ohio is called Ohio Town: A Portrait of Xenia, Ohio.
That's the one I plan on reading for the challenge, another one I just found by browsing here and saw that obviously Rebel of the Sands is set ( at least partly) in Xicha.

Congrats! I still have a few more to go! Good job!"
Thank you!
Now on 21/20 (post #60)

Did you perhaps miss my last post completing this challenge? It was post 846 from 26/5... Or are you leaving my creative X-location open after all, haha :-D
