J L's Bibliomania (jlsbibliomania) I'm currently working on 3 from the library (The two audiobooks are re-reads started in the waning days of 2016)

Audiobook of Wild Magic through Overdrive
Audiobook of Beggars in Spain through Hoopla

Print copy of Ancillary Justice

Do you want us to limit our posts to when we finish a book, or is it OK to also post reading updates?

J

P.S. I have been boycotting "want to read" and "currently reading" since the changes to the GR home page, so will shelve these books as read once I finish them.

It's whatever you would like to do. I'm going to share after I read the book, not before.

Carianne Carleo-Evangelist | 10 comments Just finished my first book of the year, counts for all three challenges I'm doing, Stephen Fry's America. Interesting look at the US from the eyes and taxi of a Brit. Look forward to hearing about what you're all reading. Unless that auto links, no idea how to do on app but my shelf should be public.

⚜️XAR the Bookwyrm (xar-the-bookwyrm) | 16 comments I've already gotten 2 under my belt for the challenge: Reaper's Fire (Reapers MC, #6) by Joanna Wylde Reaper's Fire by Joanna Wylde, which was a surprisingly decent installment to the series, and Treachery in Death (In Death, #32) by J.D. Robb Treachery in Death by J.D. Robb, which I loved!

I've got two more out this month, and have already started one!

My local library just got the e-copy within the past month...I know because I've been obsessively checking it! I was surprised at how fast it went, after the disasters of some of the other books in the series for me!

Carianne Carleo-Evangelist | 10 comments After reading a few non library books that had been on my backlist, I'm into the revised and expanded edition of Dan Ariely's Predictably Irrational. I've heard good things.

J L's Bibliomania (jlsbibliomania) Finished Ancillary Justice late on Sunday night, and wanted a change of pace before I went back to gather my thoughts for a review.

So I picked up my older son's non-fiction book A Storm Too Soon: A Remarkable True Survival Story in 80 Foot Seas and finished it in just a few hours. Review here https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

Under-rated series, IMHO. The spin-off series is as good -- maybe better.

I found the begging a little slow. It had it's ups and downs but most first books in a series do for me. I found several things intriguing and am waiting on book 2 to be available at the library. Can't say yet if it's a series that's going to stick with me or be one I read again. It's my first time reading Faith Hunter too.
