I'm kicking off 2017 with a bang. I've picked up and read my first book from the library for 2017. I've got a few more books on my request list.

Do you want us to limit our posts to when we finish a book, or is it OK to also post reading updates?
J
P.S. I have been boycotting "want to read" and "currently reading" since the changes to the GR home page, so will shelve these books as read once I finish them.

It's whatever you would like to do. I'm going to share after I read the book, not before.

That's great to find a book that works for your challenges. Look forward to more of what you pick up at the library!

My local library just got the e-copy within the past month...I know because I've been obsessively checking it! I was surprised at how fast it went, after the disasters of some of the other books in the series for me!

So I picked up my older son's non-fiction book A Storm Too Soon: A Remarkable True Survival Story in 80 Foot Seas and finished it in just a few hours. Review here https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Finished Skinwalker (Jane Yellowrock, #1) by Faith Hunter.
I've been wanting to start this series for sometime. It's been recommend too me by several book lovers.

Under-rated series, IMHO. The spin-off series is as good -- maybe better.

I found the begging a little slow. It had it's ups and downs but most first books in a series do for me. I found several things intriguing and am waiting on book 2 to be available at the library. Can't say yet if it's a series that's going to stick with me or be one I read again. It's my first time reading Faith Hunter too.

What did you think of My Lady Jane? When I read it I didn't realize Cynthia Hand wrote it. I liked her Unearthly series but My Lady Jane was fantastic! Did you think so?

The Assassin's Blade
Missing Pieces
Kim (_booksarelove) wrote: "The Assassin's Blade" I've see the Throne of Glass series and a few reviews from blogs I follow. The series sounds intestine. I kinda drifted away from YA, but I'm thinking I might give this a try. It's been a while since I read a YA.
