I wasn't approved for Laini's book. Oh well, guess I'll wait till it's published :/

Hahah, totally worth it Nancy! I took the hit also ;)Yeah, Kristie, I undid the standing hold I had on the book as soon as it was approved for me. Didn't want to clog anyone else in the line waiting for it.
Kristie wrote: "Has anyone outside of Australia been approved for Laini's book? I may request it anyway. I do have a hold for it at my library, if I don't get it, but why wait for it to be released if I don't have..."Have to admit I haven't tried but I don't tend to have a lot of luck with Australian publishers. If it's any consolation Graeme Simsion's (author of The Rosie Project) latest book
is available for request here. I was approved and I also managed to get
by Jen Williams. I've heard a lot of good things about her Copper Cat Trilogy so really looking forward to it.
Thanks, Alison. I think I'll skip it and just get it from the library when it is published. I have plenty to read right now anyway. Thanks for the link. I'll check it out.
Kristie wrote: "I just got approved for

I'm looking forward to your review on it.
I'm sure I won't get to it by the February release date either, but it looks interesting. I've never read any of her books, but have a couple of dusty paper copies sitting on my shelf somewhere. I always think they look good, but never seem to get to them. I figure this way I'm more likely to actually read it. I'm glad to see you like her writing, Cathie.
Thanks, Cathie! She's another author that I keep planning to read, but have never gotten around to. I'm hoping it's funny.
Kristie wrote: "Thanks, Cathie! She's another author that I keep planning to read, but have never gotten around to. I'm hoping it's funny."I've never read her either, but I know a lot of people that have and they all have glowing reviews of her writing. Looking forward to seeing what you think :-)
Finally finished my second Netgalley book of the month and really enjoyed it!
My review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
I didn't realize it was the second book in a series when I requested it, so I had to get the first book and read it before I could get to the Netgalley book. But I managed to get to it the day after pub day, which isn't too bad!
Finished a first quick review for this month for the book
. I found the writing very powerful for so little words it contains. Amber Lovelace wrote it over the course of at least 3 very hard, painful years in her life. My small review is here: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
(They are re-releasing/re-publishing it on February 14th)
As the people I work beside are less than excited about my news I thought I'd come share here :)I just had a wish granted on Netgalley so have a copy of Traitor to the Throne follow up to Rebel of the Sands. Don't think I've ever had a wish granted before.
Thanks Kristie. On a previous occasion I thought a wish had been granted when a physical book appeared on my doorstep. Turned out I'd actually won a GoodReads giveaway but didn't get the notification.
Yay! Read / reviewed all my NetGalley books....even though I only had 6 pending. ☺Completion Post ~ Message #85

That's amazing! Congratulations!! I'm so happy for you (98% happy, 2% jealous). Ugh, now you're gonna have to request more, oh how I hate that part. . .

Congrats! That's so awesome!

Wow! I'm very impressed Angie :-)
Oooh, I just saw that
is available on Netgalley and requested. I'm very curious with what I've heard about this one.

Oooh, I got At Attention as well and cannot wait to read it! I loved the first one in the series, and all of Annabeth's novels are fantastic.

The first one is my absolute favorite in Annabeth Albert books.

I still have two January books (1/10 & 1/31) I want to try and finish this month. And maybe get to the two 2/7 ones.
Who am I kidding, that's a bit too optimistic.
I was drinking water when I saw this in my profile, and the water almost burst out from my mouth because of my smiling excitement!

Ahh so shhiny *grabby hands*

Eeeee congrats!!!My reviews from netgalley have earned me a look from a review blog who have asked if I'd like to join them. And I said yes more books please!
Thanks Karen and Kristie! This thread has been really motivation for me these past months :)
I've just started Strange the Dreamer and it's really long, so I'm not expecting to get it done before the end of this month so I'm gonna write up my monthly sum up now. Ratio 69% I've gone up 2% this month! I did really good at finishing up the old book requests from months ago, but now there are a whole lot of new ones and I need to stop requesting (I won't though)
To read:
A couple of new reviews this week. The good news is, these two are my 7th and 8th review of the month. The bad news is I've added 9 books to my shelf this month, so, I'm not moving much in my ratio. I' hope to get another few done this month so I can move up some more. LOL

This has been my best month so far! My ratio went up by 13% & I just added this book
and I'm veeryyyy excited to read it! Has anyone read it?
I finished
. I thought it was ok. There were parts that I really liked and others that were not as interesting.
Every Body Yoga review
Also, in the message to the publisher part, I requested that they note when books are available only as protected pdf and not on Kindle. I'm not sure if that was a jerk thing to do (Does it come across as ungrateful for the opportunity to review the book??), but I thought if enough people comment on it, maybe they will start putting it out there so reviewers know before requesting.

The conversion is usually awful on those when they are sent to my kindle account.

Review #9 done today. Hoping to get one more in before the month is out. With this one, I broke the 90% mark!!! I hoping to get to 100% before the end of the year. :)
