Nay (4ukcats) Great list, Leslie! There are a couple of your faves that I haven't even heard of, which is awesome! And, actually, I've only read two from the entire list.

And you picked It Ends with Us--yay!! That will be on mine too, and I'd also include Thoughtful, but I listened to it in 2015.

message 3: by Leslie (new)

Leslie | 2430 comments Thanks Nay! I hope you find some new good books from my list. With Thoughtful, it took me a loooooooong time to get up courage to read it. Going back into that world was bittersweet for me. I have also been putting off reading final book to another fave series of mine ( Some Kind of Perfect (Calloway Sisters, #4.5; Addicted, #3.5) by Krista Ritchie ) because I know I'm going to cry AND I just don't want it to end. There are just some characters that worm their way into our hearts and feel so real. Kellan....aaaahhh.

message 4: by Nay (new)

Nay (4ukcats) The Thoughtless series is simply my favorite for non-paranormal romance. I can't find another to top it (or another hero to top Kellan)! Then the Fever series (and Barrons) is my favorite of any paranormal, but I don't know if I could choose between the two!

I've only read the first 2 books of the Addicted series and haven't even made it to the spinoffs. I need to put that on my list of ones to go back to in 2017--a series that's been on my tbr for a while that I want to finish!

You're giving me such great ideas (because, of course, Mt. TBR needs more books added to it!) lol

message 5: by Leslie (new)

Leslie | 2430 comments Nay, I know, it's like we need to yell at each other "Stop reading so many good books, you're making my TBR explode!!"

When other people rave about books it makes my finger twitchy and I have to click it. Hee hee

NOTHING in the history of all romance writing will EVER top our beloved Kellan!!!!

The Addicted/Calloway Sisters series is FREAKING awesome!!! I know the first few books are a little odd (I mean a sex addict/alcoholic doesn't sound like an appealing storyline) but once you get through them and go on that journey with Lily/Lo...it is just amazing. Then all the other characters. You will fall in love with them all. But it is a big commitment as the series has lots of books. So you do need to be in mood for that.

I'm going to TRY to not keep adding too many to the TBR in 2017 and am def going to tackle some oldies. I will post my list of oldies I want read once I finish it. I'm hoping to recruit some buddy reads.

message 6: by Ela (new)

Ela | 4291 comments I figured I'd just copy the link to my 2016 reads...

https://www.goodreads.com/review/list...

message 7: by Leslie (last edited Dec 08, 2016 06:44AM) (new)

Leslie | 2430 comments Oooh, Ela....several of your faves are on my TBR. Now I can't wait to read them. Adding to my "must read in 2017" list:

Sparrow by L.J. Shen , F*ck Love by Tarryn Fisher , End of Day (Jack & Jill, #1) by Jewel E. Ann , Easy Virtue (Virtue, #1) by Mia Asher , First Touch (First and Last, #1) by Laurelin Paige , Bang (Black Lotus, #1) by E.K. Blair

message 8: by Ela (new)

Ela | 4291 comments Leslie....be careful with Bang because it's a series with a whacked ending in book 3...just a warning.

message 9: by Ela (new)

Ela | 4291 comments https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/3...

Now that looks creepy....any takers

message 10: by Lisa (new)

Lisa Aiello (lisaaiello) | 2460 comments Ela - YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS with Pretty Stolen Dolls. It's on my owned TBR, but it is a cliffie. Part 2 is out "Pretty Lost Dolls". You gonna read it? Wanna do a buddy read?

message 11: by Ela (new)

Ela | 4291 comments Next???????????? Let's do it since we are not really getting the "dark experience" we were scared for???!!!!!!!!!!

message 12: by Lisa (new)

Lisa Aiello (lisaaiello) | 2460 comments Dealio - Let me know when you want to start. I need today to finish up Whispers/Roars...and I'm also reading Full Tilt, but I can multitask!!

message 13: by Nay (new)

Nay (4ukcats) Oooh! Me too, me too!!

Let me see if I have it, lol (I one click so much, I forget what I have!)

message 14: by Nay (new)

Nay (4ukcats) I'm golden! Just borrowed it for free with KU. Now let me go read what it's about! lol

message 15: by Nay (new)

Nay (4ukcats) Now that sounds dark (and really creepy). Somehow I don't think we'd be able to get Amy to read it with us--did you see what she wrote about it? ROFL

Let me know when y'all start. I'm going to continue on with my other K. Webster book, Untimely You, until then. Hey, it's K. Webster week for me!

message 16: by Nay (new)

Nay (4ukcats) Leslie--I AM going to read that Jack and Jill series this year. It's going on my 'must read in 2017' shelf.

I borrowed the trilogy with Kindle Unlimited (for free, of course) back in February and it's still sitting there. And I don't want to return it, because now it's $5.99! Thank goodness we can borrow up to 10 books at a time!

message 17: by Lisa (new)

Lisa Aiello (lisaaiello) | 2460 comments I wanna do Jack & Jill tooooooooooooooo! I want to read everything ever written right now!!

I say we plan on starting Pretty Stolen Dolls tomorrow. Does that work for you, Renee and Ela? Will one of you open one of them discussion thingymabobbers here for us?

message 18: by Nay (new)

Nay (4ukcats) I'm up for it--tomorrow, yes!

And I was just thinking the same thing, Lisa--I also want to read everything ever written right now!!

I can't believe I went for 6 months and didn't read a page. I was in the hospital for a month and didn't read a word. Now I want to read five books at once! lol

I'll try to set up a Pretty Stolen Dolls thread if it hasn't already been done.

message 19: by Nay (new)

Nay (4ukcats) Sorry, Leslie! We accidentally hijacked your thread!!

message 20: by Ela (new)

Ela | 4291 comments I may start today, during the daylight just in case I can't take it at night.

What did Amy write about it????

message 21: by Nay (new)

Nay (4ukcats) OMG Ela! I want to read almost every book you've 5-starred! And it reminds me that another series I want to get back to and finish in 2017 is the Dartmoor series by Lauren Gilley, and I want to read the spin-off series. I haven't gotten very far in that other book yet, so I think I'm going to read my next Dartmoor book until we start the BR.

message 22: by Ela (new)

Ela | 4291 comments I absolutely LOVE Lauren Gilley!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

message 23: by Leslie (new)

Leslie | 2430 comments Ela wrote: "Leslie....be careful with Bang because it's a series with a whacked ending in book 3...just a warning."

Thanks! I appreciate the warning. I may need to re-read think that one. But sometimes knowing in advance lessens the blow.

message 24: by Nay (new)

Nay (4ukcats) It's Amy's 'review' on the GR book page, except it's not a review, it's a rant, and it's hilarious!

message 25: by Leslie (last edited Dec 08, 2016 10:01AM) (new)

Leslie | 2430 comments R. wrote: "Sorry, Leslie! We accidentally hijacked your thread!!"

Nay, Dont be silly!!! I love it!!

Lisa, you crack me up.

How about we plan on Jack & Jill buddy read sometime after Christmas??

message 26: by Nay (new)

Nay (4ukcats) That's great with me, Leslie. I'm putting it on my 'January 2017' shelf to remind me in case we don't get it started during the last week of the year.

message 27: by Leslie (new)

Leslie | 2430 comments *scurries off to look up Lauren Gilley*

message 28: by Robin (last edited Dec 08, 2016 10:08AM) (new)

Robin Hill (robinhill) | 1528 comments My top ten (in random order):
The Man I Love*
An Exaltation of Larks
Full Tilt
One True Loves
Maybe in Another Life*
Wolfsong
Hausfrau*
Never Stop Falling
Before We Were Strangers*
And most likely to be bumped for From Sand and Ash: It Ends with Us

I had 2 DNF's that weren't bad, I just couldn't get into them: The Debt and El Diablo, and I didn't like Surviving Raine* or The Ground Rules Undone. Broken Prince, A Thousand Boy Kisses, and Too Late were "meh," and #1 for biggest disappointment: Swear on This Life

message 29: by Lisa (new)

Lisa Aiello (lisaaiello) | 2460 comments Yes on Jack & Jill after Christmas...and don't you dare get too far ahead of me on Pretty Stolen Dolls, Ela!! Now I'm going back to finish Whispers....I am so sad for Bones. I already pre-miss him - I think I may have shed a tear.

message 30: by Ela (new)

Ela | 4291 comments FINISHED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'll try to be chill...and wait. I might go back to that mafia series I started.

message 31: by Leslie (new)

Leslie | 2430 comments Nice list Robin!!

I have wanted to read Before We Were Strangers by Renee Carlino for a long time.

I may even try a few other of your faves should I be brave enough. ;)

It's angsty, but you can definitely handle it!

message 33: by Ela (new)

Ela | 4291 comments Do it Leslie!

message 34: by Leslie (new)

Leslie | 2430 comments I gotta do Tristan & Danika *gasp* too!! I know that is major angst. This is gonna be one hella-long reading list for 2017!!

message 35: by Nay (new)

Nay (4ukcats) Yes, Leslie, Before We were Strangers was awesome! I just 5-starred it. I actually read it the week it came out, but that was when I had started tapering off from GR and is one of many that I haven't reviewed/rated yet.

OMG--You gotta start Tristan and Danika! If you loved Thoughtless, I think you'll love it almost as much!

message 36: by Ela (new)

Ela | 4291 comments Now that was a ride and IMHO it was better than fucking Killian and what's her name bimbo....still loved the story but that chick just sucked ass!

message 37: by Nay (new)

Nay (4ukcats) I thought she was a selfish, naive child, and a lot of readers hated her for what she did, and even though I didn't approve of the way she handled things, she was young and had no clue about love, so I kinda gave her a bit of a pass for that.

Eons ago when I was in college, I can remember people, male and female, who thought they were in love and then found their 'soulmate' but were too chickenshit to take care of ending their original relationship first. It sucks but a lot of people, especially young people, if my son's friends are any indication, handle stuff like that very poorly.

Also, the whole book, including the incredible, amazing angst, would have been completely different if she hadn't been written that way. She had to be stupid and selfish! lol

Love this thread, so so so much! And you MUST, you simply MUST read Tristan and Danika... they were on my last year's best of 2015 post... *nods* mmm, if I could only go back and read them again.

Hmmm, I haven't started my best of 2016 yet. I should get on that. LOL!

message 39: by Nay (new)

Nay (4ukcats) Me too! And thanks for the avi, grey!

message 40: by Leslie (new)

Leslie | 2430 comments I promise to read Tristan & Danika. Not sure when, but def soon. Jeesh...I just mention that series and EVERYONE goes nuts telling me to read it.

Grey, look forward to seeing your best and worst of 2016.

Fabi NEEDS Email Notifications | 872 comments My best book of 2016:. Wolfsong by T.J. Klune

My worst book of 2016: The Butterfly Garden by Dot Hutchison

There, I said it. And I don't feel guilty (much).

message 42: by Ela (new)

Ela | 4291 comments Oh geez Fabi, really THE WORST??? Booooooooooo

Fabi NEEDS Email Notifications | 872 comments Yeah. :-( Sorry Ela. No other book pissed me off quite as much as that one did last year. I guess I'm a feminist at heart.

message 44: by [deleted user] (last edited Jan 04, 2017 07:19AM) (new)

Maryse posted my best which leaves my worst books.
Eeep.
Im always a bit hesitant if im not in the moment of reading the book. I am kind of curious if I look over my list what will pop out at me.

message 45: by [deleted user] (new)

My worst..
The Highway Man. So much buzz around this book. Maybe my expectations were to high.
F*uck Love. Absolutely no character growth and took the easy route of trying to make the best friend unsympathetic.
How to Date a Douchebag. Just no, it was just so jumbled up.
Never Stop Falling. Not enough depth.

message 46: by Paula (new)

Paula White | 800 comments See I loved your bottom 3, so now I am wondering if I would like the highway man! Who's it by?

message 47: by Paula (new)

Paula White | 800 comments Looks like I DNF'd a couple - Slip of the tongue - shudder! Can't touch this - just awful! And Wrong Place Right Time - just boring!

message 48: by [deleted user] (new)

Lol, I love that Paula.
Kerrigan Byrne is the author.

message 49: by Paula (new)

Paula White | 800 comments Historical fiction - nope not my cup of tea lol

I love this thread!!! I agree Fabi. I didn't like your choice for worst book either, but I had a worse one...I gotta go look it up...
