I read the first two chapters of City of Glass this morning but I'm sick so I don't think I will read any more of it tonight. I'm off work tomorrow and hoping my new copy will come in the mail so I can use my super cute Simon bookmark =)

16% (view spoiler)[Oh Clary, soo stuuuupid! I just always dislike main characters these days. I like how Simon said to Jace to not lead Clary along. I think I quite like Sebastian too. I've heard some things about him. Alicante almost reminds me of a little English town somewhere, just more grand. Kinda like the Elvish city in Lord of the Rings. Pleased I made a big dent in it. Probably get back to reading some more now too.

I wonder what's happening with Aldertree too! And Simon? Clearl Aldertree's dodge af haha. But I hate how they changed his appearance in the show sooo much! I like my imagination's image of him better XD (hide spoiler)]
Is it just me that doesn't really take into account descriptions of clothes? Like when they keep describing what the characters are wearing, I just skip over it and it never sticks XD

Chapter 2 (view spoiler)[ Many many things wrong with this chapter. First of all, despite Jace's intentions, I don't think it's right that he wanted to forcibly stop Clary from going to Idris. She's a shadow hunter and it's her right to go Idris. But I was really disappointed in Clary on how she threw a tantrum about not being able to go. And poor Simon. He's just starting to get the hang of being a vampire and he's thrown into another shadow hunter issue. Oh and this may be a reach but what are the odds that Lake Lyn's the mirror? (hide spoiler)]

I think I have read chapters 1-7. I haven't gotten my book depository order and from some comments I've seen it could take over a month! My ebook is a box set version so I can't track by page or percentage =(

What I remember reading last was Clary spending time with Sebastian (I <3 Sebastian btw) and she's found out a certain tidbit about Simon. I'll wait for you guys to catch up since I'm currently reading Scythe as well.

As far as the early on stuff goes, Clary acted like such a freaking brat I wanted to smack her! I know a lot of people love her as a main character, but she was always so impulsive at the expense of others, and I don't think she's nearly as selfless as readers like to believe. And Jace is definitely quite the asshole in this book, too lol Perhaps their behavior was why I rated this one three stars the first time around...

I've put this one on pause. I have no idea when I'll get to it. Hopefully I'll finish my current read tomorrow, and then I'll make a huge dent in CoG, and hopefully finish it, because if I don't read it next I have no idea when I'll read it.

I'm just about exactly halfway done. I got my order from book depository but they sent the wrong covers for TMI so I have to return those books =( I remember what's about to happen at this part and I think I might put the book on pause, too, but only because I know I'll be depressed if I don't!

I left off at part 3, which is chapter 16 I believe. More than 150 pages to go, I do remember that. I forgot this is the second longest book of the series. I only rated the audiobook three stars, but I think I might bump it up to 4 because I am enjoying it a lot more! I finished my February books yesterday so I plan to hop back into it later on tonight.

It's cool that the battle of the books this month includes Clockwork Angel since I'm about to start it in a few days!

I really want to force myself to finish Scythe first, and I have a few other books I really really want to get to. Mostly Carve the Mark and Replica. But I tend to read multiple books at the same time anyway, and I like to take my time with rereads.

28% through (view spoiler)[Sebastian reminds me so much of Jem in TMI! All of the characters in the two series are basically replicas! You'll find out when we read Clockwork Angel next. It's so frustrating, like she doesn't see the point in differentiating her characters. (hide spoiler)]

Sorry I've been ill for the past two weeks. Finished City of Glass yesterday, I borrowed Clockwork Angel from the library so I'll be starting that soon.

Thoughts on COG: I enjoyed this one more that the first two.

Clary: (view spoiler)[ I understand that she needed to get to Alicante but I really wish she didn't throw a tantrum and disregard Luke's and Magnus's warning and open a portal. I'm really glad that she finally understood her rune creating powers. I really wished Cassandra Clare had explain her nightmares more though. I liked her a bit more in this book but even though she was raised as a mundane I feel like there were some things she should have been able to figure out. Her best moments were the Alliance rune and re-writing the circle for Valentine's summoning. (hide spoiler)]

Jace: (view spoiler)[ I felt like he overreacted more than usual in this book. Like his freak out at Clary for coming to Alicante was a bit unnecessary and his mope feast about having demon blood could have been handle more reasonably. Like dude, it has been 17 years if you were that evil you would have noticed by now. Of course he's a Herondale. So the inquisitor pretty much tortured her grandson. I knew Valentine was going to kill him. You have the upper hand and you're having a conversation really? (hide spoiler)]

Sebastian: (view spoiler)[ The moment he walked in I knew he had to be the real Johnathon. Demon Blood though? Like when has that ever worked out. He's a bit hypocritical though. He mocks Jaces for loving Clary yet he is a 100% sure she is his sister and he still kiss her. The fact that he kills an unarmed innocent child without remorse makes him worse than Valentine. At least Valentine thought he was fixing the world (in his own twisty insane way). Sebastian on the other hand just wants laugh as he watch it burns. There is no doubt that this psycho is not dead. Simon: (view spoiler)[ Poor kid literally keeps getting thrown in the middle of these messes. Like he went from almost dieing to being in prison to being sentence to death by Raphael to war. Now he has the Mark of Cain whatever that ends up leading to. At least he currently has two girls vying for his attention. (hide spoiler)]

Valentine: (view spoiler)[ I felt his death was perfect. Like you raised an army of demons, kill your own people, experiment on your family and tortured an angel and then you are going to call on the heavens for help. •_• Your wife loves your daughter more than you. Doesn't seem like a good enough reason to hate Clary. Would have made more sense if he had told her she was annoying. (hide spoiler)]

Luke: (view spoiler)[ I have to say Luke was pretty awesome in this one. The man leaves for a while and comes back with an army and finally confesses his love to Jocelyn (hide spoiler)]

Magnus: (view spoiler)[ I live for any scene that has Magnus in it. I hope we learn more about the Book of White, Sebastian's interested in it so it must be important. Lol. He's 500 years old!! He so happy that Alec finally acknowledges their relationship, he just wants to buy him nice things. Can we talk about that scene with Aldertree. "Luke, tell the man his wards are down." Clary annoyed the absolute shit out of me in this book! She acted like such a little brat and never gave a single thought to the consequences of her actions.

Sebastian: I actually love him (view spoiler)[ and I advise you not to look at the new book covers if you're concerned with any future surprises. I absolutely loved when he said this to Clary and Jace.

"You," he said to Jace, "every second you're not panting over your own sister, you're whining on and on about how your daddy didn't love you. Well, who could blame him? And you, you stupid bitch" --he turned to Clary-- "giving that priceless book away to a half-breed warlock; have you got a single brain cell in that tiny head of yours?"

I am glad she made three more books after this, because the ending to City of Glass didn't feel complete.

Haha Maddison, she is always a brat. But she was just so extra in this one. Mostly the beginning parts concerning the portals and stuff. It almost seems like Clare makes her do something incredibly dumb in the beginning and something really smart at the end, so I guess we're supposed to consider as character development? lol

Yeah that's what I'm finding! How she's so frustrated that she's not allowed so she goes anyway!?

Chapter 4-5: (view spoiler)[ I'm pretty mad about Clary and Jace at the moment. Look what both of negligence and decisions led to. I feel bad for both Luke and especially Simon. He was finally starting to come to terms with being a vampire and making friends Maia. But now he's back in trouble with Shadowhunters business and it's not even his fault. I can already see Clary in future chapters complaining how Luke left her. I'm disappointed that she hasn't eve acknowledged how much he's done for her and how much trouble he can get into for all of this and I'm sure he is going to get in trouble with the Clave further into the book. All because of Clary. (hide spoiler)]

Everything's always because of Clary. I have no idea how she can be so self-centered, and yet when people accuse her of it she just denies it and cries and expects everyone to just apologise.

Also after Jace and her slept in the same bed her nightmares kind of just went away.
