It does. He's at the stage where he's learning words so fast. Today's new ones were 'Dad-dad' - Granddad - and 'Aldi bags' - we were waiting outside while his dad bought some stuff for tea. Every time shoppers came out with their purchases he pointed and yelled, 'Aldi bags!'
Tomorrow I'm starting on the second draft of the latest space opera. So I'll not be counting additional words at all.
I did 1272 today, but none yesterday. Well, you can't win 'em all. Thinking it will probably fall by the wayside while I'm on holiday but dead chuffed with it and hoping I should be able to get it up and running again more quickly when I come home.Cheers

Yes, I'm First Draft. The exciting bit. I expect to add words at a slower rate when I go through for a first edit, as the story evolved so stuff needs adding earlier on.

I had to stop before the end of my current first draft as I realised the ending I was heading towards no longer matched the story I'd written up to then.
So I have to go back and rewrite the thing up towards the new ending.
Blimey, good going folks. I edited a bit this morning but didn’t do much. Might have another chance later though.
I've a meaty scene coming up that I'm really going to enjoy writing!Managed 15 mins today but only a few words. Still, I got my 10 mins in so I can chalk it up as a win! I have to stop and edit one, really as it's due in end of August and it does need a bit of a going over before then.
Cheers

Kath wrote: "2294 today. To give my brain a rest I'm off out to flower arranging!"Really doing well, Kath. Keep it up - I am green...
Shucks, thanks Kath! :-)The iPad is on charge in this morning. However, I have a short for an anthology printed out ready to edit so I’ll use the morning writing window to start on that.
Kath wrote: "Blooming well done, Mary. I consider a thousand a good day, any day."yes, a thousand is a good milestone, much more than that you can get into serious editing territory :-)
Thanks everyone, I did a whole load of editing in the car. Over my ten minutes again. Not many words, a couple of hundred? Three hundred? But spent the time and fixed a couple of significant niggles which was great.
Only about 30 words today as I've been out gadding about. Significant words, however, as they are the blurb for the WIP.
906 today but I've been visiting this morning and I'm off out to pick tomatoes now. total currently 60,650. :)

Jim wrote: "spent today weaving another thread through a story :-)"Ah! Fiction's rich tapestry. Or is it burberry?
Gingerlily - All kinds of everything! wrote: "Jim wrote: "ideally something more fractal :-)"A bit of Mandelbrot."
now there is a challenge. Normally people can describe some investigations as peeling an onion, you go down through the layers until you get to the answer
But with the Mandelbrot, the deeper you delve the more likely you are to find yourself scratching the surface of something apparently identical
Gingerlily - All kinds of everything! wrote: "Its turtles all the way down!!"I think Pratchett said something similar
Gingerlily - All kinds of everything! wrote: "Yes, but he wasn't the first!https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Turtles..."
actually an infinite column of turtles is inherently no more ridiculous than a big bang where all the matter in a universe appeared in an instant, from nowhere :-)
