Task 25.11 A Festivus For The Rest Of Us

Read two books from options in celebration of the glorious holiday of Festivus. Page count combined total must be 500+ pages

Option 1 The Characters

Read a book whose author bears the same initials as the original 1987 Festivus participants: Jerry Senfeld, George Costanza, Elaine Benes, Cosmo Kramer or Frank Constanza.

I chose Elaine Benes whose initials are E B.

The book I chose is THE BROKEN HEARTS CLUB by Ethan Black

The Broken Hearts Club

Page count 326 The book is set in New York City which is where the first Festivus took place and I think Elaine would be pretty ticked off about this book but might consider it as a possibility except with men instead of women as victims. :)

Option 2 The Festivus Pole
Read a book that celebrates the ceremonial Festivus Pole with a likeness on its cover.

I chose AGATHA RAISIN AND THE TERRIBLE TOURIST by M C Beaton. Page count 182

Agatha Raisin and the Terrible Tourist by M.C. Beaton

Please Note: This is a difficult cover to match as some editions do not show the poles and this one is the closest to my personal copy. Wayne did approve it in the Help Thread but he had trouble seeing it too. The poles are on the extreme right and can barely be seen because the background of the blue sky is so dark. There are two wooden poles with pointed tips that after reading the book I decided were representative of the knitting needles in the story. On my copy the sky is lighter and I can see the poles clearly. As an aside, I believe Elaine Benes would approve of this pole and want to use it in regard to the subject matter of the first book. :)
