Well, I'm working all of Monday, so maybe Tuesday would be better to start, if that's cool with you?

Yeah I was craving a change. And I figured that the slogan would work better if it was in the header image so it could be bigger and more readable.

Thanks! I'm so indecisive about fonts sometimes haha
Oh, unrelatedly, I wanted to ask if you wanted to do something with Gray and Emi? Since isn't she supposed to be pregnant now or something?

I mean yes and no. Hahah. I feel like Silver should have had Nina ages ago but I'm so behind....
We could say she is or wait a bit. I think either would be good.
I also posted in the magic classroom.

In theory, they should have. But where's the fun in that?
Right right, I'm so behind and mentally out of it. I'll get to it in a bit.

So should we go ahead with it. Or should we do some RP's with them before we say she's pregnant?

I think that we should revisit the idea of the house olympics, but I think we should be a bit more thoughtful about how it's going to go before we let it go live. For that reason, I have a list of things we ought to think about.
- What the different games should be.
- How many of them do we actually want.
- Should we stagger the starting dates but have them happen simultaneously.
- Consider a way to keep the roleplays from being mosh pits (meaning split up the different parts or teams so that not everyone is RPing in one thread. It gets chaotic and I never feel like dealing with it.)
- Write out the rules for each game beforehand, and detail on the scoring system.

I think maybe there should be gaps in the RP kinda like the Olympics so people can have thje chance to tune in to any of them instead of picking.
Not sure how we'd go about posting short of a strict order...

No. The first line is in response to "- Should we stagger the starting dates but have them happen simultaneously." and the second line is me saying I don't know how we should structure posting order to keep them from being mosh pits.

I'm saying that instead of having all the events going on at once in universe at least, have gaps between them like in the Olympics.
So that way if penguin sledding and elemental dodgeball were things Ching would want to watch or participate in, she would have have to choose one because they happened at the same time. One could happen one day, the other a different day.
That's of course, just an example and is not expected to actually happen

They wouldn't actually be happening at the same time, just being RPed at the same time. And there's not really going to be a spectator thing to RP anyway.

Penguin sledding sounds fun lol.
I liked the events we came up with before but we will definitely need to fine tune them beforw, as sera said

We were able to recover my hard-drive so I have a working computer.
However, I have yet to get access to the files in my old hard drive. Fingers crossed I can get them all back.

I like the events other than Gymnastics. I feel like we could do something more creative than that.
My Ideas (for the Olympics)
➳What the different games should be.
I was thinking it could be something like the Triwizard tournament from Harry Potter where they have to battle a dragon, then go to the lake, and so on.
Not exactly like it, but the idea of a tournament that requires you to get something in order to move on. etc.
Like a scavenger hunt/ relay race
➳How many of them do we actually want.
I think 3-4 would be reasonable.
➳Should we stagger the starting dates but have them happen simultaneously.
The tournament/ Olympics could go on for a period of months for the actual characters but each event be RP'd for 2 weeks or so. That way we could maybe add the RP into character plot lines, if desired. Even characters that aren't directly involved could be affected - i.e. rooting for their friends, placing bets, hoping their house wins, etc.
➳Consider a way to keep the roleplays from being mosh pits (meaning split up the different parts or teams so that not everyone is RPing in one thread. It gets chaotic and I never feel like dealing with it.)
Create multiple threads -or- make it so that a character has to base what their character does based on a specified post from the MODS ie what hits they take and such, how many enemies, difficulty.
Character responses could be ordered picked from a spinner thingy (can't remember what it's called) and then each person's response reflects off the previous post.
I can see it in my head but it might be a bit hard to understand from this description. Sorry.
➳Write out the rules for each game beforehand, and detail on the scoring system.
Definitely a good idea.

I think that your idea of the relay race sort of thing should probably go in place of whatever magical tournament we had already decided upon since that would be hard to regulate. I imagine it almost like how we did that strategy class after people had been kidnapped.
Personally I think we should shoot for 4-5 games just so that we have room for a little more variety.
In terms of how you think the timeline should go, I honestly believe it should be the opposite. Things like the Olympics don't span months. Each event takes just a couple of days to complete and while that happens, another one has already started. However, our RP of it can take literal months rather than trying to restrict it to two or so weeks when, lets face it, some of us participants can be gone for a couple days and miss chunks of that time frame. While I see the desire to have other characters rooting for their friends and whatnot, I don't think needing to drag out the time frame for the games is necessary.
Actually, the point of my question was to inquire whether we wanted to start RPing all the events at once or start one, wait a few days, and then start another.
I think the best way is to split the events into subthreads rather than trying to create any sort of order to post. I honestly think using a randomized spinner creates even more chaos which is what we're trying to avoid. The only way it won't be a mosh pit is by splitting into smaller threads. The real question is how to do that in games where it's not a specific team completing the event together.

Well the toward tournament went for the entire year.
I feel like having them all at the same time wouldn't make sense if it was a relay. You would need to finish one before you move onto the next.

Do you mean to have the whole thing be the relay? But I thought this whole thing was supposed to be modeled after the Olympics. That's where the idea came from in the first place.
My main idea was to make it so that the students but complete the task and find the object in order to move forward.
Then points could be by first second third etc
It could be a mix between both, based on talent per house but over all a task leading up to the big one. Or something.
It would be 4-5 characters per house. One for each task/ event.

Unless you want to do something that isnt based on houses and is based on individual characters, in which case an olymics idea might work better. I can't think of way to give points equally since each house has its own strengths as far as talents go.

That sounds like a type of event for another time. I like it, but this was supposed to be based on the Olympics.
The point of it is that each house has different strengths. We want the diversity of events so that every house has their chance to win some of them. It's still based on Houses and having representatives just as countries have representatives in the Olympics.
How the points will work we will have to decide separately. But I'm imagining that each event will have a different scoring system that will all turn into placements (first, second, etc.) which will give points to the house's overall score. Kind of like a medal count?
