Thank you for posting your last review, Chrys.

Garfield,
I have to remind you once more not to apply any kind of pressure to other members of the Review Group. You do not seem to recognise the saying about "sauce for the goose and sauce for the gander".

There is no coercion involved here because Chrys is merely honouring his commitment to read and review a fellow author's book. Your comments are personal and unacceptable.

To respond to Chrys's review the way you have in message 103 is (as I stated in my introduction) both unseemly and unprofessional. This would not happen, I hope, if the review was posted on Amazon by one of their customers. It risks being banned from the group. Please delete your comments in message 103. Thank you.
G.J. (Group Moderator)

Hi GJ.....with due respect to you as moderator, I simply gave my honest opinion to what is an honest review by Chrys. I made specific reference to the last sentence in the review which I said was scathing (in my opinion) there is nothing unprofessional about my opinion and that is not putting pressure on any reviewer. I COULD HAVE GONE FURTHER AND SAY THAT THE LAST SENTENCE OF THE REVIEW WAS AN ATTACK ON MY COUNTRY. YES ITS A THIRD WORLD COUNTRY BUT I HAVE A LOT OF RESPECT FOR JAMAICA.

What i find unprofessional is that from I reviewed your book you have been very uncharitable to me both here and when you send me PM to the point where the moderator who was acting for Emma had to intervene. You seem to jump at any opportunity to pick at me. With that history between us, how objective can you be where i am concerned? Furthermore if my opinion was unprofessional I think it would be more prudent for Chrys to be the one to say so.

I said that i do not think a 3 rating is bad my only issue was the section that i said was scathing...my honest opinion to an honest review. I have fulfilled my obligations to group 116 and you are the only person who has constantly attacked me. My life doesnt depend on group 116, I have full life and law office to run.

Let peace rein!

Hi Garfield

Since you have asked for my comment...

I do consider it unprofessional for a writer to send an email to a reviewer regarding a review left about his book. Please do not email me again.

I stand by my review, and this will be my last comment on this matter.

Emma Jaye | 3693 comments Folks, I am in hospital and didn't expect this sort of argument to disturb my recovery from a second emergency surgery in a week. I'm on morphine so forgive if I'm a bit vague, but the rules on this matter are clear.

Rules state that the ONLY reply to a review on this thread is 'thank you', or 'I'm glad you like it' if it was a positive review.
If you think a review is a personal attack on you, take it to the moderator, or goodreads.

I read the review, there is nothing regarding the author in there. So the book didn't inspire the reader, the reviewer is entitled to their opinion, it might even help your sales Garfield as it will steer people away from your book who might not enjoy it, who might think it was a descriptive peice about your country, which I'm sure is beautiful. I for one, would love to visit one day if I ever get the chance,

Chrys, I would be disappointed in you if you bowed to this sort of uncalled for pressure.

Garfield you have been warned, this sort of behaviour is likely to prejudice your chances of joining another reading round.

Hi Emma,

1. I am sorry you are sick, I pray God's healing for you (soon)

2. At no time I asked for the sentence that I spoke about to be edited and so I dont see how my honest opinion about the sentence could be viewed as pressure that deserved you saying -"Chrys, I would be disappointed in you if you bowed to this sort of uncalled for pressure." I expressed an opinion, it was not a question nor a request nor a threat. I merely said too that it would be better if the reply came from Chrys but that still wasnt a question to Chrys either.

3. Dialogue can be good, I have not insulted anyone in the process. I think people are getting carried away and using a hammer to kill an ant, just because I expressed an opinion by saying I think the last sentence was scathing and you say you dont think so, well fine i am not going to insult you because you dont think it was scathing, you have a right to your opinion and thats fine and life goes on.

So anyone who has finished this round, kindly do check G131. Thanks. Sorry for bumping in like this!

Hi, Noorilhuda, It's very nice to hear from you again. Seems like a good idea to me. So, if anyone in this group would like to join another similar one you can mosey along to G131 by the sound of things or message Noorilhuda for the link.

Season's greetings to all!

If there are no objections this group will be closed very soon as there are no outstanding reviews to come. It has been one of the more "interesting" review groups that I've moderated :-) Best wishes to everyone for the new year and thanks for the experience - and keep on writing.
