StellaBlue (thatgingertho) | 574 comments "That's awesome," said Bree, smiling still. "I've been a bookworm all my life, too. If you knew me ever as a kid, I always had my nose in one."

message 252: by Ema (new)

Ema (gee-fiera) Arlin nodded. "Me too. You couldn't get me away from books. I took one everywhere, you know?"

message 253: by StellaBlue (new)

StellaBlue (thatgingertho) | 574 comments "Same here," said Bree, remembering the nickname her mom had given her when she was around eleven. "Brookworm". She'd never really understood it, but the memory was nice anyways. "Favorite book as a kid?" she asked Arlington.

message 254: by Ema (new)

Ema (gee-fiera) "I loved Magic Tree House," Arlin admitted. "I read all of them, I had a whole collection. It was kind of dorky, to be honest."

message 255: by StellaBlue (new)

StellaBlue (thatgingertho) | 574 comments "I liked Junie B. Jones," Bree laughed, shaking her head. "I promise Magic Tree House isn't the dorkiest book out there. I thought those books were the coolest, to be honest."

message 256: by Ema (new)

Ema (gee-fiera) "I think all kids did. That's what they were meant for, after all." Arlington shrugged, "I still am dorky, though."

message 257: by StellaBlue (new)

StellaBlue (thatgingertho) | 574 comments "That's okay," Bree laughed, "I am, too. That might be why we hit it off so easily." Bree started playing with the sand underneath her swing with her toes.

message 258: by Ema (new)

Ema (gee-fiera) Arlin nodded in agreement. "Yeah, that must be it." She twisted from side to side, the swing moving with her. "Anything else you want to do, or do you want to stay here?"

message 259: by StellaBlue (new)

StellaBlue (thatgingertho) | 574 comments Bree shrugged, face turning red in embarrassment. "I don't know," she admitted. "I guess I didn't really think this through... I'm sorry."

message 260: by Ema (new)

Ema (gee-fiera) "Hey, it's okay!" Arlin said. She started to swing again, though she didn't allow herself to get very high before she jumped off, landing on the ground two or three feet away. "You want to go to the mall or something? That's what other kids do, right?"

message 261: by StellaBlue (new)

StellaBlue (thatgingertho) | 574 comments Bree couldn't help but smile at Arlington. "Of course," she said, hopping down from the swing herself and walking over, taking her keys out of her pocket. "Let's go." Bree tried to ignore how pretty Arlin looked at the moment, walking over to the car slowly while waiting for Arlin to follow.

message 262: by Ema (new)

Ema (gee-fiera) "Great!" Arlington practically skipped along next to Bree, unable to stop grinning. This was what she would like every day to be like: spending it with a pretty girl who she most definitely has a crush on now.

message 263: by StellaBlue (new)

StellaBlue (thatgingertho) | 574 comments Bree laughed as Arlington skipped. "That's cute," she teased as she unlocked her car and got in the front seat. "You should try out professionally." She couldn't help but watch as Arlington's hair bounced as she skipped.

message 264: by Ema (new)

Ema (gee-fiera) "Professional skipping?" Arlin pretended to think about it. "That sounds like something I can do." She hopped up into the car, closing the door behind her.

message 265: by StellaBlue (new)

StellaBlue (thatgingertho) | 574 comments Bree laughed yet again, enjoying every moment she was spending with Arlington.

((Do you want to time skip to the mall?))

message 266: by Ema (new)

Ema (gee-fiera) ((yeah, sure! Anywhere in particular you think they should go?))

message 267: by StellaBlue (new)

StellaBlue (thatgingertho) | 574 comments ((I don't really know xP They could just stroll around and point out stores they like and we can make them up as we go xP))

message 268: by Ema (new)

Ema (gee-fiera) ((Gahhh I'm so sorry!!))

Arlin jumped out of the car once they'd arrived at the mall, bouncing a little. She would be honest, she loved the mall. She didn't come often, since her parents didn't see much of a point in going, but she loved it. "Come on, Bree, let's go!"

message 269: by StellaBlue (new)

StellaBlue (thatgingertho) | 574 comments ((It's fine xD I do that sometimes too))

Bree got out o the car and locked it behind her, laughing at Arlin's reaction. "Y'know, I can't tell if you like the mall or not," she joked, pretending to rub her chin in thought. "I think you might hate it, actually."

message 270: by Ema (new)

Ema (gee-fiera) Arlin smacked Bree lightly on the arm, laughing. "Oh, hush." She said, a joking tone in her voice. "It's not my fault it's fun!" She bounced a little.

message 271: by StellaBlue (new)

StellaBlue (thatgingertho) | 574 comments Bree bumped Arlin's hip with her own. "What do you say we be stereotypical teenage girls and go to some cute clothing store?" she said, grinning.

message 272: by Ema (new)

Ema (gee-fiera) Arlin nodded. "Sounds great to me!" she said, looking around to see where one of those was. She spotted one within seconds and pointed it out. "Ready to be stereotypical?"

message 273: by StellaBlue (new)

StellaBlue (thatgingertho) | 574 comments "Absolutely," Bree said, linking her arm into Arlington's and walking into the store, resisting the silly urge to skip again. Instantly she spotted a cute tee and rushed over. "Oh my god that's cute." she gushed.

message 274: by Ema (new)

Ema (gee-fiera) Arlin trailed Bree over, looking at the shirt herself. "Oooh, it is cute," she agreed, reaching for the price tag. She wasn't planning on buying anything, but you never knew. "And it's thirty bucks more than I have." She said with a laugh.

message 275: by StellaBlue (new)

StellaBlue (thatgingertho) | 574 comments Bree looked at the price tag, shocked. "Jeez," she muttered, shaking her head amusingly. Despite the numbers on the white piece of paper, she still took it off the hanger and held it up to her body. "How do I look?" she asked, pretending to pose like a model.

message 276: by Ema (new)

Ema (gee-fiera) Arlin crossed her arms, tapping her chin with one hand. "Hmm...." she pretended to think. "It's fabulous," she declared, before dropping the act. "You should try it, though, just for fun."

message 277: by StellaBlue (new)

StellaBlue (thatgingertho) | 574 comments Bree grinned, arms falling to a normal position. "You think so?" she asked, biting her lip. She glanced back to the fitting rooms, watching as clusters of teenage girls walked in and out.

message 278: by Ema (new)

Ema (gee-fiera) Arlin nodded. "Yeah, go for it!" She said. "It's just for fun." She grinned, turning to look at the racks around them for something she liked.

message 279: by StellaBlue (new)

StellaBlue (thatgingertho) | 574 comments Bree grinned and ran off without another word, sliding into a fitting room and locking the door behind her. She slipped off the shirt she was wearing and put it on a little bench, putting on the one she'd brought. She happily opened the door and walked back out to Arlin, showing off. "What do you think? Be honest." she said, doing a tiny twirl.

message 280: by Ema (new)

Ema (gee-fiera) Arlin had grabbed a couple things for herself, and was looking at a skirt when Bree called out. She turned and looked, smiling. "You look gorgeous!" She called, putting on a fake accent. Truthfully, Bree really did look good in it.

message 281: by StellaBlue (new)

StellaBlue (thatgingertho) | 574 comments Bree smiled at the outfit she saw Arlin holding. "Your turn," she said, pointing to the fitting rooms. "Go in the one with my shirt in it." she laughed.

message 282: by Ema (new)

Ema (gee-fiera) Arlin laughed too, going into the room with an "okay, okay!" She changed quickly, pulling on the shirt and skirt. She popped out of the door, posing. "What do you think?"

message 283: by StellaBlue (new)

StellaBlue (thatgingertho) | 574 comments Bree felt her heart flutter seeing how pretty Arlin looked. "Gorgeous," she said instantly, corners of her lips turning up slightly. "How much is it?"

message 284: by Ema (new)

Ema (gee-fiera) It took Arlin a minute to find the tags. "Well, she skirt's cheaper than the shirt." She said with a shrug. "Is it worth it?"

message 285: by StellaBlue (new)

StellaBlue (thatgingertho) | 574 comments Bree grinned. "It looks beautiful on you. I'd get it." she said, shrugging as if it weren't a big deal when secretly she hoped Arlin would get it.

message 286: by Ema (new)

Ema (gee-fiera) Arlin turned to the mirror in the dressing room, twirling around in front of it. "Well, why not?" She said. "I think I will." She closed the door and quickly changed back into her regular clothes, leaving the door open when she stepped out.

message 287: by StellaBlue (new)

StellaBlue (thatgingertho) | 574 comments Bree slid past Arlin and into the dressing room, changing back into her shirt. She came back out and hung the other shirt back up, waking with Arlin to the cash register. "If you don't have enough, I'll chip in." She said as they approached.

message 288: by Ema (new)

Ema (gee-fiera) Arlin smiled at her. "Thanks," she said, "I think I have enough, though." They stepped into the incredibly long line, Arlin bouncing on her toes in impatience.

message 289: by StellaBlue (new)

StellaBlue (thatgingertho) | 574 comments Seeing Arlin's boredom, Bree took out her phone and switched in the camera, holding it out in front of her and Arlin. "Say cheese!" She laughed, smiling.

message 290: by Ema (new)

Ema (gee-fiera) Arlington jumped, looking around at Bree in surprise. She easily understood what the other girl wanted, and struck a ridiculous pose.

message 291: by StellaBlue (new)

StellaBlue (thatgingertho) | 574 comments Bree laughed at Arlin, clicking the camera shutter a few times. She put her phone back in her pocket. "That was cute." She teased.

message 292: by Ema (new)

Ema (gee-fiera) Arlin nudged Bree with her elbow, grinning. "Oh, wasn't it?" She asked, tossing her hair over her shoulder. She stepped forward with the rest of the line. "I hate lines."

message 293: by StellaBlue (new)

StellaBlue (thatgingertho) | 574 comments Bree groaned in agreement. "Same," she said, standing on tip-toes to see the rest of the line. Not too long now. "I hate being 5"5..." she muttered.

message 294: by Ema (new)

Ema (gee-fiera) Arlin nodded, brushing her hair out of her face. "Being short stinks," she said. "I think the line's moving again." She said, and was proven right as they inched forward once more.

message 295: by StellaBlue (new)

StellaBlue (thatgingertho) | 574 comments Bree took a small step forward, not at all satisfied. "Well. This is nightmarish." she said, trying to put humor into the situation. "Want me to go buy us some drinks from a different store while you're waiting?" she asked, pointing down the hall outside the store they were already in.

message 296: by Ema (new)

Ema (gee-fiera) Arlin cranes her neck to see outside before nodding. "If you think you can get back quick enough," she said with a laugh.

message 297: by StellaBlue (new)

StellaBlue (thatgingertho) | 574 comments Bree looked at the line and laughed. "I think that won't be a problem." she said, turning and jogging out of the store, towards a smoothie place in the food court.

message 298: by Ema (new)

Ema (gee-fiera) "Me either," Arlin said with a laugh, waving as Bree left the store. And she waited.

message 299: by StellaBlue (new)

StellaBlue (thatgingertho) | 574 comments Bree came back three minutes later with two orange cream smoothies, glad to see that Arlin was next in line. "Here," she said, handing Arlin her smoothie. "I wasn't sure what you wanted."

message 300: by Ema (new)

Ema (gee-fiera) Arlin's face lit up as she saw Bree approaching. "Thanks!" She said, "Its a good thing I like these." She took a sip. She'd moved closer to the front in the time that Bree had been gone, thankfully.
