PtP - Thunder Ducks
I haven't yet, and I have been hearing really great things about it (for awhile now). I love action, too! I should bump that one up to the top of my list.
I was shocked at how much I liked that one too Jane. When you try and tell someone about it you sound like a crazy person. Yeah, see, there was this spaceship that crashed and this armor system latched onto this guy trying to run from his ex mafia boyfriend but the military is looking for him.....lol
LOL - it is a ridiculous premise - but the author pulls it off SO well! I love that all the characters, including the military, have a bit of mongrel in them. No-one is right or wrong; although the military do stuff up big time. But you can't 100% hate them...And I LOVE McClane - the 'desperate to live' alien...
Have you guys read Ball & Chain yet? Did you like it? Should I be saving it for the gold I'm hoping it is?
Katie wrote: "Have you guys read Ball & Chain yet? Did you like it? Should I be saving it for the gold I'm hoping it is?"No - not yet. Haven't even bought it yet :) I'm always about 6 months behind new releases for some reason...
I haven't read it yet. I'm still behind. I've been trying to wait for them to come out on audio but Riptide is taking their sweet time with producing them! LOL
Katie wrote: "Yeah, I haven't bought it either. Are the audio books good, Sassafrass?"I've really enjoyed the audiobooks, Katie. but, they only go up to book #5. I broke down and read book 6, but I really want them on audio dammit. When the publisher switched form dreamspinners to riptide, they stopped the audio. :(
Ohhh...yeah. DSP is pretty good about having an audio copy of books available. I've never been able to really get into audio books. Do you guys have specific narrators you like to listen to? I know Jane listens to a lot of books, too. This could be for m/m or m/f. I know I listened to Timing and it was terrible. The narrator was Sean Crisden.
Sassafrass wrote: "I haven't read it yet. I'm still behind. I've been trying to wait for them to come out on audio but Riptide is taking their sweet time with producing them! LOL"It'll take years to get the books after Armed & Dangerous onto Audible/Riptide! Good luck Sass :)
Paul Morey is generally good - probably the best in MM; although Sean Crisden CAN be good, but he was a shocker with Timing unfortunately...Paul's page on Audible - http://www.audible.com/search/ref=a_h...
I've listened to Matter of Time (Vol 1&2), Tigers & Devil and most of the Home series...
Basically, the MM narrators are nowhere near as good as some of the MF narrators IMHO.
In m/f - there is actually a topic where there's been a bit of discussion here lately : https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
I just read Ball & Chain and I like it because it involved other people but most die hard Ty & Zane fans were pissed about that part. I don't know that I'd save it for anything special but it moved pretty fast and the secondary characters were fun.
Thanks, Shannon. I suspect I'll like it, but might be disappointed in it as the end to the series. I'm still looking forward to it, though. :)
Shannon wrote: "I think there's one more isn't there? I thought I read that somewhere."I thought there might have been as well... but there are only the 8 listed in the series on GR :( I guess we move on to Sidewinder...

Dang, Jane! LMAO, just destroy a girl's hopes!
Shannon wrote: "I think there's one more isn't there? I thought I read that somewhere."I have no idea. I think this might be it, but I don't read blogs or anything, so she certainly may have said something about another book.
Shannon wrote: "I think there's one more isn't there? I thought I read that somewhere."In the FAQs on Abigail Roux's website, it says nine books are planned. I have no idea how long ago this was posted or if it is still accurate though. Probably where you saw it Shannon.
Yes, I just had to jump in here and say something - couldn't help myself!

That's great! I've heard such conflicted things about this one, and I'm glad there will be another one to possibly make up for this one. I haven't read it, though! Maybe I won't think there's anything to make up for. :)

That's my impression anyway. Not sure if they are bugging them for the next books or not...

Fall Hard by JL Merrow 6/7/14 ★★★More of a 3.5 stars but the book was so focused on old Icelandic mythology and lore that it felt like the love portion faded into the background. Great mystery involving Alex and Sven and where did Viggo play into the whole thing? Page turner for sure. Fun read!
Week 1:Read the first book in a new (to you) sires.Book:

Rieview: So for the first real book that I have finished in awhile I was a little disappointed. Our main characters are set off on an adventure paired up with two of their "enemies". The names escape me at the moment and I can't go look to add them because I'm typing this up on my phone. The city has been under attack and the main character was chosen to be the weilder of ancient map and it is up to him to lead the way. The thing is he just a young lad who is untrained with his fire element, why the gods chose him is yet to be reviled. Will I find our why I don't know. This book was a freebie and depending on cost of book 2 I may not find out.

Week 2: The Sweetest Thing4 stars
This is a really cute series that I'm really enjoying. Tara wasn't my favorite character, but she definitely grew on me throughout the book. Ford and Logan were hilarious...does Logan get his own book? Looking forward to reading about Chloe and Sawyer.
Nice Katie. I tell ya, many more of these stinkers that I've been reading and I may join you in the realm of m/f. :p
Lol, I've been hearing that more than I expected.I'm worried I've gotten to most of the good m/m stories already and this is what I'm left with.

I think book two was my favorite of the series. I definitely didn't like her in book 1 but grew to love her by then end of book 2.

Animal Magnetism 320 pages per GR by Jill Shalvis 5 STARS, Completed 6/8/14 LOVED THIS! How could you not love Brady and his brothers Dell and Adam. I was so glad that Brady was able to get over his abandonment issues to get with Lilah. She was exactly what he needed in his life. And sprinkles the dog, how perfect!!! LOL
Yet ANOTHER series I'm going to be continuing.

Lol! Well, that doesn't bode well for the next 10. :P
Don't get me wrong, Katie, I love the series. I've enjoyed each book, but there was something about Tara that I loved. Maybe it was because I didn't like her at first.

Tangled Threads by Jennifer Estep
finished 6/9/2014, ★★★
Fourth installment in the Elemental Assassin series, which was a good addition.
The first part had me really irritated, since the author retold whatever happened to the previous three books. The second part had quite the action, with Gin Blanco facing another assassin hired by Mab, La Fleur. I hope Gin gets her revenge soon! The narrator, Lauren Fortgang delivered once more.
Hey sorry took so long to respond for second one … I will add it in my next post. Just reading it now

Sassafrass -- You just let us know whenever you want a rec. :)
Lisa -- I'm shooting for the 14th. Maybe earlier, if I can get it set up in time."
Katie - have you read Bone Rider? Just finished that one, and loved it :) But I love action...
