I'll leave this another 24 hours, but if no one is able to lead The Unfinished Clue I'll have to strike it from the nominations & put up a poll with the other 3. Sorry but I've never read this title & I don't have a copy. :(

I think I'm glad about this. Penhallow is so very out-of-the-ordinary for Heyer that it's hard to assess it in comparison with her other work. But I think that if you were to read it without knowing her other work, it would stand as quite a remarkable novel.
I've never read it so I'm looking forward to it.
Looks like the duplicate post bug is back, so I just deleted Doris & Teresa's second posts.I'm hoping to have a much improved opinion of this novel.

It's 46 & super windy in Idaho. Spring has NOT sprung here & we're beginning to wonder where it went...
Here in Ireland we've had some lovely balmy days. Then the last week has been freezing. Literally. Temps suppose to be going up again over the weekend. Fingers crossed.

I was just going to tell you all about this amazing book my daughter sent home with me after our trip last week, and then I realized I should head over to Royal Escape from the Topic thread...
& time to consider our July read.I would like to do a poll of The Masqueraders, The Convenient Marriage & Beauvallet. If there is any interest I could include The Great Roxhythe as well.
2018 we start reading the regencies in order - which means if we don't read these titles this year, then we won't do a grop read of them till 2020.
Thoughts everyone? :)
Everything you've mentioned sounds good to me. The Great Roxhynthe is a rare GH I've never read so I'd say it should be on the poll.
Also I love grop reads. Especially romances. ;)

My choices would be between two of my all time favorites--'Masqueraders' and 'Beauvallet'. As I have little patience with a very young heroine that keeps getting into scrapes. 'Convenient Marriage' is not high on my list. I believe that 'Great Roxhythe' should remain buried, as GH wished.

Gropes all round! I know the heroine was always getting into trouble as Barb says, but I remembered liking Convenient Marriage; having said that, I can always re-read on my own to see if it holds up for me after so many years, I've never read Masqueraders or Beauvallet, so I'd be pleased with either of those for July!
I'll vote for either The Masqueraders or Convenient Marriage.
I want to read all of them so I will abstain from voting and just be excited about what everyone else picks.

Perfect! I voted Beauvallet since I'm quite in the mood for a swashbuckler. But I'm putting The Great Roxhythe on my TBR list--my amazing library system has copies.
Masqueraders is one of my favorites. Lots of humor and a neat plot twist. Sir Anthony is another large gentleman with more brains than first demonstrated!

You’re right, Jacquie, about Anthony! I guess I must have a type, because The Masqueraders was my favorite Heyer when I was younger, before I abandoned Anthony for Hugo in The Unknown Ajax.
