Jack Talent was everything I hoped he would be and more. I was intrigued by him during book 2. I was heartbroken for him in book 3. In this one I fell in love with him.
What I loved about this book: (not counting Jack of course) the mystery was very interesting. The sensuality was first rate. When an author can dedicate two entire pages on the introduction of a kiss and make it awesome she has mad writing skills(you'll have to read it to get my meaning).Mary, who I wasn't completely sold on after the last book, made me a fan.
What I didn't like. It seemed at times the book could have ended earlier. Don't get me wrong, what kept coming up later was worth the 420 odd pages but sometimes it felt a little on the longish side. Also, as with the epiloguein book 3 I could have done without it. Since it had nothing to do with Mary or Jack it felt unnecessary except to peek the reader's interest for the next book. Which is probably the point but it annoys me.

So overall a wonderful spectacular awesome sauce of an addition to a fabulous paranormal romance series

Fab! Thanks, I had been looking for some good Werewolf tales to get stuck into and between these and Amanda Carlson's I am a happy girl :)

Wow I really liked this one! I love zombie books where the characters are constantly on the run and fighting for their lives every minute. This one was action packed and the romance was sweet (even though it wasn't a huge part). It ends with a minor cliffhanger so I'll be reading book ASAP!

I totally love zombie books. I'm definitely going to move this up my tbr! You read that fast too! I haven't started yet because once again my internet decided to be wonky so I couldn't download either books from my cloud. Fixed that tonight (went to a wifi hotspot) so I can start them. I'm going to start with Her Perfect Mate (do you think that is enough yellow to qualify?) I didn't think to ask because I got approval for the orangey color of my Ashes book.

Everything that Katie writes should carry a warning label, READER BEWARE: THIS BOOK WILL MAKE YOU LAUGH OUT LOUD AND CAUSE POTENTIALLY EMBARRASSING BEHAVIOR!!! If I ever need a pick me up, I re-read one of Katie's books. Highly recommend this book and any of her other books.

A decent enough introduction to this author's writing style. I found the action to be top notch and the plot not bad. However, several factors were problematic for me. These were the characters, the sex/romance and the world building. Yikes! That pretty much rules out everything that makes a good book. To tell the truth there were spots that had me taking away a star and spots that had me putting one back. I think if Tyler can develop some sort of world building (where this book had virtually none) to include some rules regarding her shifter world, some actual romance to offset the numerous action sequences (which will reign in that insta-love issue) and create a consistent strong woman who won't dissolve into tears and whining when she makes a mistake, I do think this series could be outstanding. As it stands, this is an average read. Not a terrible waste of time (the action and fighting scenes were great).

Sandra, I'm in the minority with this one. Most reviews here, amazon and shelfari are 4-5 stars. There aren't very many 3 or less ones. I hope you enjoy it more than I did.

Review:

Interesting world and many original ideas, including some pretty useful skills like teleporting things or even people and a cat that can communicate with its owner.

The focus of the story is the romance, told mostly from the male's point of view. T'Ash is pretty traumatized, having lived through a pretty tough childhood and is hoping that things will change now that he's found his HeartMate. That may have been the case had the woman in question not been obstinate and pretty cowardly. Danith has a chip on her shoulder and I found myself mostly annoyed with her throughout the story.

The series continues in Heart Thief with Ruis Elder's story, the Null that caused some trouble for T'Ash when he (view spoiler).

message 137: by Michelle (new)

Michelle (michelle_mc) | 2158 comments She's ok, was just up and down all night until her fever broke. It was her pre-school boosters, so the last ones thankfully! My boys are doing well. Caleb is planning for his 6th birthday party, he wants a superhero & villain fancy dress party, joy? Thankfully the costume he picked for me isn't too bad and colour me shocked but Finlay said if I make him a Hawkeye outfit he'll wear it. Which is huge, cause costumes are one of his little "I can't cope with that" things. It's the last few weeks of school so lots going on too. I need a holiday!

message 138: by Sandra, Kindle Operator Licence Required (new)

I have started it and should finish tonight, my review will likely go up tomorrow though as it's already 9pm. Sorry for the delay!

I can't speak for everyone but at this point in the game reading fast isn't necessary so you're doing great especially with a sick one and party planning!

When it comes to crunch time I'm hoping I can maintain my reading speed. I generally only read 1-2 books a week so sometimes it could take me the entire week to finish one book. While doing my team challenges I've cut out almost all my Netflix time so I have to read more. I'm getting antsy though...Sam and Dean Winchester miss me (I'm watching Supernatural all the way through again for the second time LOL.)

message 142: by Michelle (new)

Michelle (michelle_mc) | 2158 comments Lol Christina, they are worth a watch through. I know it's ok to not be quick at this point cause no-one can win anyway but I still would rather finish it. I managed to get 79% into it before I fell asleep. The kids are going to my Mum's tonight so we can celebrate our wedding anniversary, which was on Thursday. I hope to get my review up before we go out, the book is getting to my favourite part :)

I'm leaning towards Black Wings (Black Wings, #1) by Christina Henry as long it's accepted because her wings are only shadowed on the cover (she's an angel of death). The other books I'm thinking of are... Scent of Darkness (Darkness Chosen, #1) by Christina Dodd Heart of the Wolf (Heart of the Wolf, #1) by Terry Spear or Sleeping with the Fishes (Fred the Mermaid, #1) by MaryJanice Davidson ...UGH! I just don't know!

Too Hot to Hold (Hold Trilogy, #2) by Stephanie Tyler

Read: 7/6/14
Rated: 4 Stars

My Review: I really enjoyed this part of the trilogy, mainly because it's when we really start to get to know Chris and there is just something I love about that guy! This has everything that I have came to expect from Steph's books - Lots of action and suspense merged with romance, sex and an overall sense of loyalty and friendship.
