This was a "Read Now" from NetGalley: Blooming in Winter: The Story of a Remarkable Twentieth-Century Woman
. Lovely title and cover; I didn't love the book, except for the sketches and photos.https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
At two weeks prior to publication, I can now post my review for The Bohemians
by Jasmin Darznik. This mainly covers two years in the early career of a woman photographer (who later becomes famous as an American documentary photographer and photojournalist.). It largely covers 1918-1920. The novel is biographical historical fiction, not non-fiction. However, I learned a lot and even read more about Dorothea Lange online.

I loved Trent Dalton's first book (Boy Swallows Universe), which was largely autobiographical. There's no question he can write. All Our Shimmering Skies is good, but I was spoiled by what I know he is capable of.

The Vanishing Children, by a favourite author of mine, Graham Brack, is another Master Mercurius mystery set in the Netherlands in the 17th century. I'm very fond of this gentle, witty cleric whom William of Orange keeps dragging away from his comfortable university post to work for him.
