Love a Little Sideways by Shannon Stacey. i love listening to 'can't help falling in love with you'while reading the book..so most probably this..
or...
Falling Awake by Jayne Ann Krentz
My favorite songs:Always on my Mind
Are you Lonesome Tonight
Love me Tender
Possible options from TBR:
We Have Always Lived in the Castle
F*ck Love
The History of Love
A Spy in the House of Love
Of Love and Shadows
Me Before You
It was hard to pick but here are the 3 songs I chose as my favorites.Hound Dog
All Shook Up
Viva Las Vegas
*Ha, I just can't resist, hehehe. This is the book i'll be reading for this challenge
All Shook Up looks much better than the "matching" title I found, Love Me Tender, which appears to be a romance in which "Elmer Presley" acts as a fairy godfather.
What's funny is the three songs I chose all have books with the exact same name. But alas, I decided on All Shook Up because of what the book is about.
This seems like it might be interesting! My Top Three:
Hound Dog
Can't Help Falling in Love
Suspicious Minds
After reading the spoiler and gophering...
(view spoiler)
That's hilarious about the matching names. Welcome to the group, Jennifer. I hope you enjoy your first challenge.
I think the existence of books with names that match Elvis songs is a testament to how well known those titles are.
My 3 faves are: Can't help falling in love
Viva Las Vegas
In the ghetto.
I'm not sure if I'll get tot the challenge this month or not - I seem to be in a bit of a reading slump and still want to get the yearly challenge completed. But I thought I'd prepare just in case :-)
My favorite songs are:Can't Help Falling in Love
All Shook Up
Hound Dog

I'm going to have to add more books to my tbr shelf, I need more options!

Maybe Casciel's book will get you over your slump, Amanda. :0)
If you're interested Amanda, Amazon will sell you a used copy for one cent (plus 3.99 shipping, of course). Who knows, your local library may have it. . . unless someone has burned their copy or something.
I'm another one who isn't a big Elvis fan, but Can't Help Falling in Love is my favorite of his songs. I also like Love Me Tender and Are You Lonesome Tonight, but will use the first song as my inspiration.Possible books: (view spoiler)
Casceil wrote: "I think the existence of books with names that match Elvis songs is a testament to how well known those titles are."The matching names discussion sent my gophering and I found Are You Lonesome Tonight? which sounds so bizarre and unlike my usual stuff that I may just read it.
Or I may stay true to my boring self and read an annotated version of The Return of the Native that I just found. I actually enjoy reading footnotes and commentary :\
Casceil wrote: "Good choices. One of them [spoilers removed] is what I would be reading if I had picked differently."Thanks. They are on my to read list, and I think I own them (one I have out from the library right now but haven't started yet). The benefits of having an enormous to read list is that you can find something to fit almost any criterion on it.
Cherie wrote: "Yowzer! I just looked at the cover!"LOL! That's when ebooks come in handy. If you're in public, nobody can see the cover. :
I finally made a decision. I'm going to read The Devil You Know for my selection. It's being downloaded as I type.
Can't say I have a favorite but the ones I know are Don't Be CruelHound Dog
Viva Las Vegas
(view spoiler)
My 3 favorite songs are:Heartbreak Hotel
Are you lonesome tonight?
Can't help falling in love
Off to read the spoiler...
EDIT...So I'm going to go with (view spoiler) for the song Can't help falling in love.

Unfortunately the book you chose for Love Me Tender won't work because it's in the sub-title. Sorry.
Well, this sounds intriguing! Based on your list, my favourite Elvis songs would be:One Night
King Creole
Stuck On You
Janice wrote: "Lots of options with those songs, CanadAnn"I see a trip to the library in my future! Not one of my unread books at home qualifies!!

Gah, I must get around to picking my three songs!I know this is going to be sacrilege to a lot of you, but I've never really been a fan of Elvis so choosing 3 favourite songs is actually quite hard! lol

maybe you could pick the songs you know (I knew less than half ) or the ones you dislike the least ; )
I must admit, some of his songs are a bit toe-curling for me too, but there are some I quite like.
Found some Elvis mysteries whilst gophering. Two examples here:
Blue Suede Clues
Kill Me TenderI don't think I could bring myself to read them... not really an Elvis fan. I find the titles so corny... but maybe someone else would like to give them a try?
Not a fan of Elvis the pop star? Try a google search for young Elvis Gospel; his singing on those songs is quite different. He was famous for "Peace in The Valley ". You might be able to persuade the moderator.

I figured that while not everyone was a fan of Elvis, everyone knew who he was and are aware of his songs. So use the titles you are most aware of and call them your favourites.
