She stayed on the couch almost all day. She cried a little, just because she was frustrated and in pain.
When it was finally time for his break, he went out back to some water.
She went out on her balcony and smoked two full cigarettes.
At some point, he wandered out of the shop and towards his aunt's to see Amelia.
Natalia made herself lunch and made a few phone calls regarding her show.
When he came back an hour later, it was to two people yelling at him. One was an appointment he kept missing and the other was a mother. He'd tattooed her daughter a week back and she was yelling at him for it even though her daughter was 18 already. He mostly just sat there and let them yell at him before he left again and started wandering around.
Natalia dressed and made lunch for Elian. She went to his shop. "Hey is Elian around?" He asked the first person she saw.
Branden, one of the tattoo artists, said, "he came back from his break but then left again after some women yelled at him." He shrugged.
She sighed. "Where can I find him?"
"We never know where he goes when he leaves, anymore," Brandon said.
"I'll try to find him." She sighed. "Thanks." She said, then left, walking down the street.
She tried calling him as she walked around.
Elian picked up after the second ring. "Hello?" He asked tiredly.
"Hey where are you? I have lunch." She said.
"Sitting here,"Elian said and looked around. "I don't know where here is."
She sighed deeply. "Well what's around you? I'll come get you."
When she sighed like that, Elian quieted. "It's okay. You don't have to," he said, suddenly remembering his illness and feeling like a burden. "Goodbye," he said and hung up. He stood up to wander around again.
"Oh for fuck sakes!" She shouted. She tried calling him again.
Elian picked up again as if she hadn't just called him and spoken. "Hello," he answered.
"Hi where are you? I have food." She said
He looked around, "I don't know. I think I'm lost." He said to her.
"What's around you?" She asked gently.
Elian lowered the phone and just stopped responding, forgetting she was even on the line.
"Elian." She said. "Elian?" She yelled.
Elian looked down at the phone and lifted the phone up to his ear again. "Hi, Natalia. I think I called by accident. I'm sorry." He said.
"No, baby; I called you. I'm trying to find you. Can you tell me what building you see?' She asked nicely.
Elian looked around, "There are houses.... a lot of houses..." he said. "And trees... and-and people," he told her.
"Okay that's good; what about Street names?" She asked.
"Um," he said and looked around. "Fairwood road," Elian answered. "I think.
She realized she was just around the corner from that street. "Oh good! Okay I'm coming to you. Please don't move alright?"
"Okay," Elian said tiredly and laid down on the bench.
She jogged to where he was, despite her bad hurting. "Hey." She said once she got to him.
"Come on," she held out her hand. "Lets go home."
She pulled him up. "I heard what happened; are you okay?" She asked gently.
"I'm okay," He nodded and stood up with her.
She nodded. "Did you want to go back to work or come home?"
"Okay." She nodded. She led him towards home. Her back was blessing.
Elian walked quietly to her apartment and when they were close, he gasped, "Natalia, you're bleeding." He said.
She looked over her shoulder. "Yeah I know; the scab came off." She said.
"Others I can heal whenever." She said
