I read this book in the 1990's. It is about time travel and kids. They go from place to place. Their food is in the form of "pie" that is different flavors. I think it also centers around a war. It is not a Wrinkle in Time.

Joa, how many kids are time travelers? Are they boys and girls, sisters and brothers?
Where are some of the places and times they travel to? When does the war take place?
Was causes them to travel in time - eating this "pie"?
