Finished Chapter 1
(view spoiler)[ That was probably the longest introduction chapter/prologue I've ever come across. Ever. But it set stuff up really nicely. Jess is an interesting character. His brother seems interesting as well. As for the other library prospects, I like the feel of Khalila, and Thomas seems like a really nice kid. I have a bad feeling that won't last though. xD (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[Dang! I can't believe Guillaume's death was so sudden! And on purpose! Was he really a burner spy? That's crazy.

Also was sad to see Izumi fail. She seemed interesting, and I wanted to know more about her.

I really don't think I trust Morgan. She's got more going on than we know.

I really want to know more about Wolfe's character. It's obvious he's not on good terms with the leaders of the library, so why was he put in charge of the class? (hide spoiler)]

I'm wondering how the heck Jess didn't notice he had been stabbed until afterwards, but whatever. Not happy that Portero died, but I'm glad it wasn't Thomas or Dario. (hide spoiler)]

I feel like I was reading really slow until I hit chapter 10 or 11. Almost done now.

Chapter 14
(view spoiler)[So is it bad that I still don't like Morgan. I don't know. She's just a meh character, and I agree with the Archivist that it's pretty odd that Jess fell in love with someone he barely even know. Though I don't like the Archivist. While I didn't like Morgan, I'm not sure how I felt about her being sent to the Tower.

I worry about Thomas. He's too much of a free thinker, and that's going to get him in trouble. His invention is amazing, but it sounds very similar to some issues The Library had with Wolfe. (hide spoiler)]

Prologue + Ch 1-3:
(view spoiler)[Prologue itself was quite confusing for me since I haven't read summary and I was thrown into new fantasy world without warning.

On the other hand, I caught up quickly in chapter 1 and I started to enjoy this book. It's quite slow for my taste and I don't really like Jess yet (I have problem with his name - it's name for a girl in this form and it confuses hella lot out of me). I get similar feeling from this book as from Red Rising - this prestigeous academy with tough professors and stuff. I love setting in Alexandria though -

(view spoiler)[Whoa. Suspense intesifies! I really like direction this book takes. I still have same feeling like when I read Red Rising -
and that's a good sign! I am not sure if I like Morgan yet, but she'll definitely be a wild card in a unavoidable conflict. My new favourite character? Wolfe. He seems cruel but I have this feeling he is hidden rebel or something. We'll see...

I was quite shaken from the last part where they travelled to Oxford. Oh god, first dead there. Poor Danton... I am surprised no one else died though. I am sure they will.... soon. (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[I was right. More dead... Oh well. I'm not disappointed but I enjoyed parts from the training more than this... war. Yes, it's action packed and blah blah blah but... I don't want anyone else dead. I hope Wolfe survives that. Probably not... Nothing more to say about this part. It's all about fighting. I started listening to soundtrack while reading and it's perfect. (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[This is going to end very badly, I can feel it... Two students dead, most of them injured... eh. I love it though. All of it. Most of all Wolfe and his boyfriend. I like the minimalistic way it's described.
I'd never guessed Santi was the boyfriend though.

And we got love story too. At first I thought Jess would end up with Chalila but I was wrong. I guess they are perfect for each other but... it was heartbreaking to see what Jess had to do.
But well... she'll forgive him, right? The Library is not as good as everyone thinks... and everyone is after Wolfe. Please, survive...

Chapters 1 - 4: (view spoiler)[I love the setting of this. It’s so refreshing to see a dystopian book set outside the US. The politics in this are quite interesting, too! I like the characters, especially Khalila, but I don’t feel attached to them yet. So far, the story is interesting. Can’t wait to see where it goes.
