I think we have a book for Markhor also... as the name is derived from "snake" and "eater" and we have a book with a snake on the cover...
----------------
Wiki: The colloquial name is thought by some to be derived from the Persian word mar, meaning snake, and khor, meaning "eater", which is sometimes interpreted to either represent the species' ability to kill snakes, or as a reference to its corkscrewing horns, which are somewhat reminiscent of coiling snakes

Perfect !
Wouldn't have thought that Markhors would somehow link to snakes - the animals are so very different - but hey it works!
I'm thinking one of my banked books could work for the bottles one...when I see that picture I think of chemical beakers...in
, one of the characters is fighting cancer with chemotherapy...thus chemicals in his body...what do you think?
I think that sounds like it fits! We have been lucky with our banked books this card. I think this makes the 11th book we could use.
You don't happen to have a photographer in one of your banked books by chance? :)
I just finished
(thanks Karen!) and it has scenes with photographers (when she comes out of a court case and after winning the Kentucky Derby)...And a photograph is sent as a chilling reminder...
Sooo....all matter is made up of atoms...so any of our banked books are about atoms (in a philosophical and scientific sense)...???Take our banked book with the most pages?
K~Terror wrote: "Where is our Abbie??? She usually checks in at night!"I am here! Had too much to do after work, trying to read through all this mess!
I actually finished two books today that I hadnt loged yet, so let me see what is still open to see if they work anywhere.
If the captains accept the 3 banked books (atoms, bottles, photograph)...it only leaves 3 open spots!I might be sitting out this round ;)

If you have a Z book, feel free to take my spot. I still have a book to finish before I can start it.

Same here - I'm working on a "BLOOD" book so if you want the "BORN" book, have at it! I snagged that one first and then forgot what I took and started the other one by mistake... :(
ST - I'm totally there with you on the photograph and the bottles! Atoms.... Hmmm.....
Actually - your bottles scenario sounds like it's more supportive of chemistry... atoms... lol!
Abbie wrote: "I actually finished two books today that I hadnt loged yet, so let me see what is still open to see if they work anywhere."We found one of your books and 2 of LaurLa's books that were in the bank that we've used on this grid if that helps?! :)
Oh, if you do that...maybe Abbie's Sherlock Holmes book could be used for bottles...isn't he always tinkering with chemistryAbbie, does he do any tinkering in that book?
Or we could use Tamika's Empty Net...because in order to play hockey you need ice...which is taking water from a liquid to solid state...atoms...

Thanks Karen, but I actually just found a book with Magic in it...so I'm going to take the magic spot.
Here's a run down of what we didn't have a banked book for on this grid:1. Title contains Magic | ST
2. Bottles | Maybe open...
3. Cat | OPEN
4. Title contains Born | OPEN
5. N | V Nerd
6. Title contains Blood | KT reading now
7. Fancy Shoes | V Nerd
8. Title contains Flame | Karen
9. Title Starts With Z | Karen is offering if anyone wants it
10. Draco Lizards | V Nerd
11. Dog | Tamika | Offering up if anyone wants it
12. Lion | Tamika | Offering up if anyone wants it
13. Title contains Dragon | E plans to read a shortie tomorrow
I can read His Majesty, the Prince of Toads for the 'photography' spot since it's frogs/toads in the picture and well, the title. And my kindle edition even has a picture of a toad on it.
If we still need a book for the atom, in my banked book Isle of Lies, the h is actually somewhat of a scientest... at least as far as one could be in the early 1500s. But she actually studied and did experiments to learn how things work. She even studied 'alchemy.' I guess this could work for the bottles too since they sort of look like beakers.

Too much paperwork.. lol! Thanks LaurLa!
ST - I had to update your squares with yellow text. I had a hard time telling the difference between your spots & Alex's spots.
Scientist/Alechemist for atom is much better than a chemistry interpretation, in my opinion.
Nice work on the banked books, ladies! That clears out a lot of them :-)
