Such a fun age....Can't even imagine going to school in a castle, near a castle.... I bet he is excited!
That is an AWESOME school!!!
What castle is that by the way?
*sigh* makes me want to go back to school as well.
To be quite honest, the way the buildings looked was a big part of my decisions on where to go to school.
My high school was an old abbey:

(the whole thing from above, with Basilica attached of course)
And my university.. well... the pics speak for themselves ;-)

ETA: That is University of Aberdeen, btw.

Yes he is bless him, I keep telling him he's going to be in Gryffindore and he's fed up wit it now, he just shouts MUM I AM NOT HARRY POTTER haha. The coolest thing ever is that at the end of this month there is a guinnes world record attempt at the castle for the most "Harry Potters" in one place, you can't get in unless you're dressed as him lol.

That looks fantastic, LaurLa!! Wow.
I really need to make some time to take a trip through the UK and just visit all those beautiful castles. How long do you think it would take?? ;-)

It was kinda cool. It was the start of my junior year in college. I thought it was way cool they had a 'pub' in the basement. And I was legal there - hee hee!
I went to school to be a teacher so got to spend one day a week for several weeks in a classroom there. Equal to 2 or 3rd grade here, which would be 8 or 9 year olds I guess. I don't remember what it was called there, though. But it was very interesting to see the difference between school there and here.
I also took the opportunity to travel to London, Nottingham (of course), and Edinburgh, took a long weekend to Ireland and one to Florence, Italy with a side trip to Venice.
It was an awesome opportunity and I wish now I appreciated it more at the time than I did.
Speaking of castles...I went to Hogwarts today (Universal Studios Orlando)!I don't know how you parents do this, I'm an adult and I was fussy at about 2:00 from going on the rides and walking around in the sun. But I still had fun, it was a blast seeing how excited all the kids were :)
Not sure if I have another day in me!

That is awesome!!
Getting fussy after a while, yeah, I understand that hehe.
Did you go to Hogsmeade? The one you went to is the "park" with the reproduction of the village, right?

LaurLa, that sounds absolutely awesome!
I could imagine those kids being of the extremely spoiled brat variety haha, from the looks of the place.
And yay, you went to Edinburgh! And so many other nice places. It's nice to be able to take advantage of an extended stay like that :-)

Made it through the surgery, hoping the doctor wil let me go home tomorrow. I haven't gotten any books read because I doze off from the pain meds. But I have started Let It Snow
Glad you have it behind you & that it went well. Sounds like they have you on some excellent drugs. :).
So glad to hear everything went well Karen! Wishing you a speedy recovery :)I finished ACOMAF (I'll update read thread and bookshelf as soon as I can get to my computer). I can't even handle my emotions right now!!! That book left me with so many feels...
Lol Jessica, welcome to the club!
I went back a couple of days later and reread the last couple of chapters just because I wanted to be sure that I had really read what I'd read, and then I went through all the emotions yet again haha. SO GOOD!

K-Terror, could you put Stone Cold onto your Wobble shelf, please? Thanks!
Also Tamika, Midwinter Night's Dream could be used for Book Into the Distance - Read a book for short distance: page count up to 250p. Sound good? Or would you rather keep it in the bank?

Finished Book into the Distance bonus round....https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...I changed the book so updated the spreadsheet.
Unfortunately that one won't work for arm on cover :-(
You can't see the girl's shoulder, and the shoulder is unfortunately a requirement for it to be considered a full arm, not just the arm itself and the fingers.
Sorry!
There doesn't seem to be another spot open where it'll fit so it'll have to be banked.
