T, can you put A Second Harvest on your wobble shelf, please? Thanks! :-)

message 1502: by Ghost in the Stacks (new)

Ghost in the Stacks What really sucks, is that I started a Game of Thrones with my face to face group, and had the start date the first day of this challenge so that I could use it latter on...and now we cannot bank books for next games....sigh...
Oh well!
We are slowly going through it, so we still have a few more weeks until we are done.

Jockeys and Jewels (Racetrack Romance, #3) by Bev Pettersen

Reading for romance next

You might be able to count books started after Wobble started in a later challenge, but just not for Olympic Games.

Since that challenge plays according to a specific set of rules, books need to be started on or after July 2nd.

But we don't know yet how strict rules are going to be for the other coming challenges.

K~Terror (k-terror) | 5600 comments Yesterday turned into a good reading day since there were technical issues with working.. I was able to finish 5 of the shorter books I had lined up for these last days of battleship.. (Classic, YA x 2, Romance, Fantasy/paranormal-forget which)

Today hoping to finish up a fantasy (Oddfits) and maybe a SciFi (Between the Lives).

message 1506: by Ghost in the Stacks (new)

Ghost in the Stacks ...you didn't happen to pull on those loose wires on the main frame...did you???

...hmmmm, idea is forming.....

message 1507: by Ghost in the Stacks (new)

Ghost in the Stacks My SF will be done today, I know I will get close to finishing my HF, As I read that on my breaks and lunch, while I listen to audio during my "working" hours.
I think I may finally get to do that Mystery bonus!

Glad You all took care of those Romance HITS...I think ever one of you hit that one....but me.

I feel like it's slow going with my books, but I am moving forward at least.

I'll finish my two books for sure, and maaaaaaaybe, just maybe, I'll manage to squeeze in a quickie romance or something.

message 1510: by Ghost in the Stacks (new)

Ghost in the Stacks Enjoy your quickie ;)

message 1511: by Jessica (new)

Jessica | 296 comments Completed Salt to the Sea for historical H2

If anyone ever needs to read a historical fiction, this one was amazing! I think it was even better than The Nightingale.

message 1512: by K~Terror (new)

K~Terror (k-terror) | 5600 comments Good to know - thanks Jessica! I added it. Maybe if I have time for a historical I'll try this one. The other one I was contemplating was "The Girls" by Emma Cline.

Not sure if anyone's read that one yet but it looks interesting?

LOL! I like the way you think.... The bummer is that it is making today much less enjoyable with all the catch-up.

message 1514: by Eldarwen (new)

Eldarwen | 13735 comments Mod
Not read any of those books you two just mentioned, no, and I've only heard of Nightingale, and keep hearing good things about it.

message 1515: by Jessica (new)

Jessica | 296 comments I think I messed up.

In my completed post for Ender's Game I didn't list it as working for D8 (science fiction - tagged by 11,997 readers). I think that is the book that was intended for that spot. Should I change the completed post? Currently it is being used as a bonus book for E1 (YA).

We can leave it there and I can pick up my copy of Lord of the Flies for D8. It is a quick read and will take me no time to finish (it is only 182 pages).

message 1516: by Eldarwen (new)

Eldarwen | 13735 comments Mod
Eurgh, sorry, unfortunately once it's logged in the spreadsheet, we can't change it around anymore. I was wondering about it but figured it was fine - maybe next time I'll ask haha.

If you want to read Lord of the Flies, you can! Completely up to you!
We currently have Abbie and Tamika down for science fiction so we shouldn't have any problems finishing up those primary books.

Tamika!

Could you please check the page numbers for Sweet Dreams (Colorado Mountain, #2) by Kristen Ashley ? The number you wrote down don't correspond with the edition you shelved.
While you're at it, could you also please check if The Gamble (Colorado Mountain, #1) by Kristen Ashley is the correct edition?

Thanks! :-)

Ghost in the Stacks I think the spreadsheet is broken...all that and we are still in 4th....

Going to grab a Fantasy book for bonus today.

message 1542: by Ghost in the Stacks (new)

Ghost in the Stacks Is there anything posted about Olympic games, besides the basic info on the All about WOBBLE page? I was just trying to see the nature of the game.
Either I am missing it, or they haven't posted anything....

IMPORTANT NOTICE

Mainly because you've probably all wondered about it:

◈ Olympics rules should go up on Thursday, some time.
◈ Olympics will require team work, more so than Battleship did. So please make sure you check in Thursday, Friday, Saturday because we will need to get coordinated.

◈ Books started during Battleship but finished either
- during the 12h downtime between Battleship and Olympics
- during the first part of Olympics (maybe throughout the whole challenge)
- after Olympics, that is to say, during Wheel-a-Ton
can all be used for Wheel-a-Ton.

Feel free to hit me over the head if something is unclear ;-)

I am hoping to get at least 2 more done for battleship. I downloaded a Fantasy and Classic.
..why is it that all these fantasy books theses days are YA or Romance???
Cant a werewolf run around eating small children in the forest, without a pretty, smart and lonely girl falling in love with him?

message 1548: by Eldarwen (new)

Eldarwen | 13735 comments Mod
Hahah, good question, Abbie!
But yes, it seems like everything needs to be YA or romance, and everything needs to come in trilogies at least. How about a good stand-alone novel for a change?

message 1549: by VNerdbooks (new)

VNerdbooks (v_nerdbooks) | 5104 comments Yes!! What happened to the goo old stand alone??
