I've only read The Da Vinci Code and Angels & Demons actually. Either my mum or I have the other books sitting on our shelves and she's read all of them I think, but I still haven't. Some day... ;-)

Oh K, Night Broken is SO good!
I still need to read the latest one but the paperback price doesn't want to drop :-( And that is a series I'm buying.

VNerdbooks (v_nerdbooks) | 5104 comments I haven't read The Lost Symbol yet, didn't like the movie if the Da Vinci Code, or Angels and Demons for that matter lol
Tom Hanks is NOT the person I saw in my head, he was older, like a Harrison Ford in Indiana Jones, or Sean Connery

I'm so glad we didn't scare you off!
You don't have to apologize for not being chatty ~ it's totally ok!

Lol, yes, Tom Hanks wouldn't have been my idea of the MC either. And I hated that they deviated quite a bit from the book towards the end.
What I liked about The Da Vinci Code though was the music.

Chevaliers de Sangreal is a lovely piece of music.

It's fine!!

I keep forgetting that everyone isn't as chatty as most of us.

Yeah, I didn't see him either.

But Harrison Ford was to old in my head.

Put it with the latest fantasy task so we can get the two primaries done as quickly as possible :-)

You're a much speedier reader than I thought, LaurLa! :-)

Alexandria | 149 comments The Ring and the Crown (The Ring and the Crown, #1) by Melissa de la Cruz
it's alright, but a little boring. It's the same author as
Witches of East End (The Beauchamp Family, #1) by Melissa de la Cruz
and I LOVED that series. So I'm a little disappointed.

I might have stayed up until 2, er, 3:30 reading last night. So had just a bit left this afternoon....

I don't feel speedy. I can read a book a day, but anything over 400 pages prolly not unless I have ALL day. I can do multiples if there average size and easy reads. I just can't blow through those doorstoppers like some. I have tried to read faster, more skimming, but I always end up bogged down again. I guess I just enjoy the books too much...

Right ladies, I wish you all a lovely evening and start into the weekend.

I'm going to take my Anita Blake book now and head to bed.

G'night!

message 1283: by Jessica (new)

Jessica | 296 comments Sorry I've been MIA for the past 2 days. I have been incapacitated by a truly gnarly case of Poison Ivy :( The allergy meds they have me on zonk me out completely! So, I haven't read in 2 days. But after 2 doctors visits, 2 shots, and multiple prescriptions, I think I am on the mend (and the kiddos were taken away by grandma for the night... WIN!!!).

Water for Elephants by Sara Gruen is a audio (old school CD style from the library... hehehe) I was listening to at work so I won't be able to pick that one back up until Monday (bummer since I planned to have it finished by today)

I started:

Ender's Game (The Ender Quintet, #1) by Orson Scott Card (audio) which will work for E1, E3, B2, and D5

Strong Signal (Cyberlove, #1) by Megan Erickson (Kindle) which will work for F1 and A7

And OMG!!! I am completely in LOVE with Kai and Garrett!! You ladies were right, great recommendation, I will be finished with this one by tonight!

message 1284: by K~Terror (new)

K~Terror (k-terror) | 5600 comments Oh no Jessica - poison ivy sounds miserable! I'm glad you're feeling better.

Yes, I do enjoy that part of my job...and it balances my non working hours...by the time I get home, take a shower, make dinner, clean up...I am done for the night! I try to read, I get a bit done before my daughter desides she wants to watch TV together...and then I fall asleep in the middle of the show!

Good choice!"

Lol, well "narrow down" might not be the word I choose haha. I read a few chapters of my two other books before I picked this one to read in bed - and then obviously I fell asleep over the second page already haha. So basically I'm still at 0% in the Anita Blake ;-)

I think I'm just going to leave it be until I'm finished with Broken Juliet, which is hopefully going to be today. Though I have to clean the flat - like spotless - because my parents are coming over for dinner (I'm being a good daughter hehe).

Not sure where you want to put it E

I'm reading another YA now so it might fit one one of the others, was going to finish the GR author Miss spot but wasn't sure if you wanted to use it for something else?

message 1297: by Eldarwen (new)

Eldarwen | 13731 comments Mod
Snowtulip picked up a book for the GR task, so we can use yours for something else.

I had this one slotted for a YA task anyway, so let's just use it for that. That way, you still can read your current YA and have mystery/contemporary open for after that.

message 1298: by Eldarwen (new)

Eldarwen | 13731 comments Mod
Ah wow, I just noticed the time as well haha. I got a little lost in angsty Ethan, oops ;-)
100 pages left to read! But first I need to clean! And then I can finish it.

I'm going to pick up Othello by William Shakespeare for historical tomorrow and will have it done in a few hours.

But yes, cleaning now, which means I need loud music ;-)

message 1299: by VNerdbooks (new)

message 1300: by Eldarwen (new)

Eldarwen | 13731 comments Mod
Well, yes, but usually hoovering and the bathroom fan are just too loud to properly concentrate on an audio, so loud music it is :-)

Audio is good for kitchen cleaning and the like because then I can just put it on the laptop as well. I'm having an aversion to headphones lately, which annoys me not just a little.
