VNerdbooks (v_nerdbooks) | 5098 comments You could both read it for F1 and then it would be all set for bonus books ;o)

K~Terror (k-terror) | 5600 comments I started The Shining today which could be used for either E3-Fantasy/bonus book or H8-Paranormal/new task.

It's like 600+ pages.

Is that seriously tagged as paranormal?! Wow, wouldn't have thought haha.

And yes, V, we could actually read it for the romance task as well, but, if anyone else is quicker than me.. I'm not allowed to read bonus yet :-( hehe.
Or ST reads for romance and I'll read for something else.. We'll see :-)

EDA: On second thought, Shining as paranormal makes total sense. I was just thinking PNR for some reason and that would have been inappropriate.

Yeeeeep, because of you that I'm reading, and omg, I just wanted to see what it starts out like - why do I read stuff like this at work?! It's so hard to conceal when I'm trying to laugh out loud :-p

Aaand now I need to continue of course. Sorry ST, getting a bit of a head-start, but you're much quicker than me anyway hehe.

Ghost in the Stacks I got G8! No problem for me!

Hehe figured as much, Abbie! :-)

Ghost in the Stacks Infact I can do both Spots if you all need me too

message 859: by Eldarwen (new)

Eldarwen | 13730 comments Mod
You can only do one per task unfortunately.
But I'm sure someone will want to pick up the second book, since historical romance works too and there are some among us who read those, including me :-)

Ghost in the Stacks :(
I forgot About that.

FYI... the romance i read over the weekend is small, only 250 pages. I know I (and probably others) can very quickly read a longer romance book. Let me know if you want me to do that...

message 862: by LaurLa (last edited Jun 20, 2016 04:30AM) (new)

LaurLa | 2383 comments I can read for E4, F1, F3, F7, F9.

We can also use Claimed for D3 or for any of the hits instead of as a bonus book for the last set of hits. It's 353 pp so if someone has longer books for the hits, we may not want to do that. Not sure that matters.

message 863: by Eldarwen (new)

Eldarwen | 13730 comments Mod
It doesn't really matter if the primary book has less pages than bonus books.

And it doesn't really matter whether we use No Romance Required for a hit or a miss (i.e. Romance or another task), it won't change anything points-wise. Using it as a primary for romance just opens the path quicker for the bonus books on that task to be read.

Just of course, since we used your book for romance, you won't be able to read another romance book since one of your books has already been used for the task.

Might be a good idea to use it as a primary for one of the new hits, that way we have more options for bonus books to read for everyone, since the bonus books can be read whenever.

Hahaha, thanks ;-)

I put Claimed to the paranormal task. Since K is already reading one as well, those bonus books should be opened up very soon then :-)

message 868: by VNerdbooks (new)

VNerdbooks (v_nerdbooks) | 5098 comments The one I am reading now was going to be used for F6 but I used my other one, so that can now be used for a romance if you like OR one of the other ones.

When I've finished it shall I just put what it will work for and you can take your pick?

I was holding off the last chapter, so will finish sometime this morning when I can officially take a break at work. Okay, maybe that would be lunch...

Yes, please put the various options V, just in case we're going to spontaneously switch things around before putting the books on the spreadsheet.

Buuuut, using it for romance does sound like a plan - then the rest of us will have open season on the bonus books for romance hehe.

Great! I managed to get quite a few more pages read in ACoMaF during my lunch break. And the hour leading up to my lunch break was fairly quiet so I also got in a handful of pages in my newest read.
I'm in a very reading mood at the moment, so hopefully I'll be able to take advantage of that tonight.

message 872: by VNerdbooks (last edited Jun 20, 2016 05:31AM) (new)

VNerdbooks (v_nerdbooks) | 5098 comments Will do ;o)

Ps did you find out about the sub genres?

Edit... ignore me, helps if I read the rules lol

- for genre tasks, book needs to be tagged (shelved) at least by 10 people. It can be subcategory or part of the shelf (for example, science fiction fantasy works for both SF and fantasy)

message 873: by Eldarwen (new)

Eldarwen | 13730 comments Mod
Haha, if it's any consolation, I did have to hunt for that tidbit as well as I was looking at the wrong rules ;-)

message 874: by Jessica (new)

Jessica | 296 comments WOW! I had a lot to catch up on... shame on me for not logging in this weekend :(

But..... I did get quite a bite of reading done. I will have Illuminae finished tonight (599 pages; E1, E3, F8, and F3) and American Gods finished by tomorrow (635 pages; E3, and H8) - not sure where this should be used. Maybe as a H8 bonus?

message 875: by Eldarwen (new)

Eldarwen | 13730 comments Mod
Haha no worries, Jessica! It IS a lot of reading when you don't log on for a couple of days (we are a rather chatty bunch) ;-)

Hooray on Illuminae almost being done!
As for American Gods, could be bonus for either E3 or H8, it won't make a difference as far as points are concerned, so I'll just say: let's put it as a bonus book for E3, just in case the two H8 books aren't done by the time you finish up your book.

I think my e-reader is concerned I might be caught while reading smut scenes at work. It keeps turning itself off and then losing the page I was on...

Tamika♥RBF MOOD♥ | 1422 comments Wow a lot was said. Lol.

F1 I'm going to read Love Lessons (Love Lessons, #1) by Heidi Cullinan

message 878: by Karen ♐ (new)

Karen ♐ (kmk1214) | 1866 comments I'll read Discovering You (Whiskey Creek, #10) by Brenda Novak for F1
and
I'll read The Wedding Dress by Rachel Hauck for G8

message 879: by LaurLa (new)

LaurLa | 2383 comments I've finished Claimed!! woohoo!!

I'm going to read Gingerbread Man by Maggie Shayne next.
It works for F9 - Read a book with an average goodreads rating of between 3.51 and 3.99 or it can be saved to see if it fits tasks for next set of questions.

Hehe...maybe it can sense when your boss is near ;)

I can't wait to see what you think of ACoMF...I'm kind of hardcore in book boyfriend love with Rhysand right now!

No worries on starting Pucked, I'll probably start it mid week.

I love this series V, I think you'll like it for the long haul...a few books are not as good, but overall it's really good. I have the newest one waiting for me to read it...I'll probably use it for paranormal bonus.

VNerdbooks (v_nerdbooks) | 5098 comments I'm pleasantly surprised, I don't think if I had read it a year ago I would have enjoyed it, maybe IAD has changed my perception of pnr ??
There was another one no 2 I tried and hated, one was the BDB (hated that) and another one about a sex doctor or something, not sure what that was either but I know most people love it, so I'll try them again.

Who knew Cat & Bones would lead me astray haha

Tamika♥RBF MOOD♥ | 1422 comments I liked book one of the Psy Chanegling Series, but book two bored me and I haven't read another.

Karen ♐ (kmk1214) | 1866 comments Do I have this right and that all Battleship books need to be finished by June 30?

Tamika♥RBF MOOD♥ | 1422 comments My next book fits F3, F8, and H9.
Kiss of Midnight (Midnight Breed, #1) by Lara Adrian .

It's 434 pages.

Tamika♥RBF MOOD♥ | 1422 comments I can find a book for G8. Mine aren't long but I'm clocking more books so I should be fine.

I'm kinda burned out in big books right now, maybe in a few weeks I'll be back to normal.

Karen ♐ wrote: "Do I have this right and that all Battleship books need to be finished by June 30?"

Either June 30th, or July 1st. It isn't quite clear yet. But it would definitely be better to calculate with the 30th. That way we can be sure all our books are done before the Olympic Games start.

Lol, not so good on the sleeping though haha.

For your next book, you can choose whichever task you like, except for YA since you've already done that, but preferably one of our hit tasks :-)

I feel you on the big books!
But indeed, you're reading a lot, so it won't make much of a difference especially since bonus books give us an extra point each.
