We have them all in the bank!! :-D

All the correct way, with one plural for "pinpricks" (a word I think I always see used in plural?) but plurals have always been accepted for these kinds of things in previous events for this challenge, so I'm going to go add it all to the spreadsheet now and request a new bonus.

Jessica | 296 comments I also have:

Nevernight (The Nevernight Chronicle, #1) by Jay Kristoff

Page 306: "Lemon and salt rubbed into a fresh and bleeding wound, torn in four ragged strips across her back and peeling her lips back from her teeth in a silent scream."

If we need it :)

BONUS LABOR 33

Athena, ever the champion of heroes, wishes to offer you a boon. But alas, nothing can be given for free. You must complete this task fit for the Goddess of Wisdom. Here's her caveat, it's tricky be warned: the first book must be from a self published author

Read 5 linked books (i.e. Title Relay).

◈ Read 1st Book
◈ Read 2nd Book
◈ Read 3rd Book
◈ Read 4th Book
◈ Read 5th Book

Points: 60

That leaves only 7 books in the bank! Awesome!!

message 6158: by Eldarwen (new)

We have a self-published author in the bank (well self-published pseudonym of a published author) but it's a one word title unfortunately.

If someone is interested in reading Flat-Out Love (Flat-Out Love, #1) by Jessica Park , it's cute and self-published.

Ghost in the Stacks What the FUDGE!!!

What was the verdict on The non-Fiction Relay? I should be able to get started soon.
.However We do have a meeting with the new BIG boss here, so I don't know how long I will be stuck there...However 4 day week for me!!!

Also, since we are at the end here, how do the points work? Do we need to complete an entire Labour to get the points, or are we getting points for what ever is submitted?

Just wanted to know for my 4 day reading spree.

Can't let you know about relay books until I get home tonight, but I can usually take whatever.

Ah we haven't really gotten far with a build-up for non-fiction, but I'm pretty sure that if you go with "Girl in the Dark", we'll be able to figure something out.

I'd say go for "You too can have a body like mine" first because that is the relay most people are reading for at the moment, so we can get that one done as soon as possible. Nevermiiiiind ;-)

Also, if you have something with a rope on the cover? K has an option but if you have something and can read that one before she starts hers, that might give you another option to fill up your reading time?

message 6164: by Eldarwen (new)

Eldarwen | 13742 comments Mod
As for the points and finished/unfinished tasks in the bonus labors... I think I read something somewhere in the captains' group but now I can't find it.

Give me a bit to dig a little deeper and hopefully I'll find something. If not, I'll ask and then I'll get back to you as soon as I have a reply.

message 6165: by Ghost in the Stacks (new)

Ghost in the Stacks You can have a body like mine is done!

Let me see what needs to be filled

message 6166: by Eldarwen (new)

There is that other relay, you know... ;-)

And the rope on cover.

Everything else is basically relay or spoken for.

message 6167: by Ghost in the Stacks (new)

Ghost in the Stacks I can start rope tonight.

message 6168: by Ghost in the Stacks (new)

Ghost in the Stacks Lol
..which relay now....I have totally lost track of those dang things.

I need audio now, So I am going to Start My non-Fiction, here at work, and then work on the rope when I get home

message 6169: by LaurLa (new)

LaurLa | 2383 comments So I am getting ready to go to a retreat for the weekend. I won't be able to read (well, maybe for like an hour a day) nor will I be able to do much on GR. I may pop in just to see what's happening but probably no posting.

I am finishing up a book here in a little bit that I will bank, but I won't be claiming anything new until Sunday evening :-( Hopefully my few banked books will help for any upcoming labours....

Everyone have a beautiful weekend!!!

I can't believe it either! It seemed so far away. Actually I saw my gastroenterologist and he put me on a medication that slows down the release of bile since I no longer have a gall bladder. *fingers crossed*. It seems to be working. He's diagnosed me with IBS. I've been on this new med for almost 2 weeks and it seems to be working well.

Oh, wedding time already, Karen! Enjoy!!

LaurLa, have a lovely weekend! A retreat sounds great!

And no worries about the reading/books/tasks ladies! Most of the banked books have been used in the meantime, which is awesome, and whatever else you're reading and banking, we'll make sure to make them fit somewhere, somehow.

Sunday (11pm London time, if I calculated the time correctly from the countdown) will be the start of the last event for the Wobble challenge, called "Emerge the Victor".

Yup, finishing time has been pushed back a little, which I think is quite good! Gives us the Saturday to read as well, which is a better day for reading for some people than during the work week.

Glad to hear you're feeling better and the meds are working, Karen! :-)

I don't gabs the energy to really read and just been feeling tired all day long. I'm home now, but my eyes are drooping. I'm going to attempt to get this historic book read.

Could you set a read date please? Otherwise the spreadsheet won't pick it up from your shelf.

Thanks!

Hm, I just noticed that Imperfect Chemistry (Imperfect, #1) by Mary Frame seems to be self-published. In the book description it says that the book has been published by the author (published by Mary Frame), so I'm guessing that means it's self-published.

Do we have possibilities to build off of that? I'm reading the book one way or another for a different challenge.

BONUS LABOR 34

You’ve been walking for hours and the ground at your feet is beginning to look exactly like the swamp you just left. You keep walking and yes, you recognize that stump and that tree over there. Maybe it’s time to start bringing a map on these quests.

◈ Read a book that has a map in its pages

Points: 10

K~Terror (k-terror) | 5600 comments I have a couple possibilities for map book but they are not terribly short...
The Kiss of Deception (The Remnant Chronicles, #1) by Mary E. Pearson Across the Universe (Across the Universe, #1) by Beth Revis

Currently working on two books - 1 for RITA award (Him) and then the other for Bonus Relay #25 (You Were Here)...

and a shorty lined up for Bonus Relay #31 (nonfiction) if we can get the last 2 books lined up

No worries, ladies!

The rest of us will remain behind and read a little hehe.

With so many of you having lovely plans this weekend (I'm starting to be jealous haha), it seems like a good thing that the end of Labors has been postponed for a week. No rushing for new rules, new tasks etc.

So you can all go off this weekend, enjoy your real life events and not worry about a thing! :-)
