BONUS LABOR 4

You entered a time warp. Woah Deja Vu.

Liesel has just finished the last page of her favorite book. She looks around frantically to find the next one but can't! She runs up to you and asks for your help in finding her next book.

◈ Visit a Library - Read a book with a book on the cover.
◈ Stop the Book Burning - Read a book where something catches on fire.
◈ Hide your Stash - Read a book that has at least 5 different covers.
◈ Learn to Read - Read a book under 150 pages.
◈ "Borrow" a book - Read a book where a main character is a thief.

Points: 60

Tamika♥RBF MOOD♥ | 1422 comments We can use Alex book for Set in London. Harry potter and the cursed child if we are close. I'm 60% into Apprentice in death and to read The Soldier's Scoundrel for London if not.

K~Terror (k-terror) | 5600 comments Thanks T!

One of our new bonus book task is for a book with 5+ covers.. I bet your Apprentice in Death would fit there nicely as I used an In Death book for that last time... Tons of covers usually!

Tamika♥RBF MOOD♥ | 1422 comments Well I was reading it for 10 plus in a series. It's still open according to the SS.

Little note on the book under 150 pages - remember that it still needs to fit into the general Wobble guidelines, i.e. it needs to be 100 pages or more.

From the Bank

Karen's Lethal works for 5+ covers.

Book with less than 150 pages - LaurLa's Interlude in Death. It's 100 pages long. And her Tales from Mysteria Falls works as well with 123 pages.

Maybe from the books in the bank we can find a book where something catches on fire?
Maybe there's a thief somewhere in one of those books?

Since we have other options for the bonus tasks, I used yours to complete Labor 4, as was initially intended :-)

message 5611: by LaurLa (new)

LaurLa | 2386 comments There is an explosion in Interlude in Death and Roarke's coat catches on fire. If we use Tales from Mysteria Falls for under 150 pages, then we can use Interlude for catches fire.

It's crazy like that all over our town. We have people with Avon addresses going to Brownsburg and vice versa. School districts are weirdly drawn sometimes!!

LaurLa | 2386 comments I am not going to get to my last claimed task (Read a book with a musical instrument on the cover) until later next week - probably Wed or so. If someone else has a book with a musical instrument, feel free to take the task.

VNerdbooks (v_nerdbooks) | 5107 comments Guys the mods have asked us to answer a few questions about the challenge, see below.

We'd like to hear from you!

We're looking for information like:
1) Are things too hard?
2) Are things too easy?
3) Is your team getting bored?
4) Is your team really enjoying something?
5) Any suggestions for improvement.

Karen ♐ (kmk1214) | 1866 comments Finished my "medal on cover" book. Updated ss.

Tamika♥RBF MOOD♥ | 1422 comments Honestly, I'm tired! I wish this was the last challenge.

Good Lord, I knew it was long but once your playing it's different.

I don't think it's hard at all.

I'm enjoying myself but I'd like a mini break.

message 5621: by Karen ♐ (new)

Karen ♐ (kmk1214) | 1866 comments I don't think it's too hard.
I've enjoyed every part but have to agree a bit with Tamika. It's pretty long...

message 5622: by LaurLa (last edited Sep 17, 2016 09:49AM) (new)

LaurLa | 2386 comments Agree with T and Karen... maybe have it only have lasted through September. Wheel-a-thon was pretty long. And Bingo seemed really short, although Bingo was a lot harder than most of the other challenges, I thought.

Mostly I think it's a great challenge and would do it again. We had some pretty awesome leadership, though, so I know that is a big part of why it was enjoyable and not so overwhelming!

message 5623: by Ghost in the Stacks (new)

Ghost in the Stacks Its fun, but long.
Breaks in between would have helped...maybe two weeks in between each game. But during that time, no books can be banked....since banking would still mean your playing.

message 5624: by VNerdbooks (new)

VNerdbooks (v_nerdbooks) | 5107 comments I'm enjoying it, it is really long but I would have been doing other challenges anyway so apart from me putting my other ones on the back burner while I'm playing this I haven't done anything differently.

message 5625: by VNerdbooks (new)

VNerdbooks (v_nerdbooks) | 5107 comments Is there anything that you think me, K Terror and E should or should not be doing for you guys?

Is the team SS okay for you guys, are the colours helping much?

I have been pants in adding the stuff to the main SS in the last couple of weeks as I can't get onto a computer at my new job, and my home laptop is so old it's practically steam powered lol

Karen ♐ (kmk1214) | 1866 comments I think you, E, and K Terror have done a fantastic job. I can only imagine how much work this all was (and is).

message 5627: by Eldarwen (new)

Eldarwen | 13759 comments Mod
Hmmm, I especially thought that WaT was long and that it kind of took the wind out of the sails because it was a little more "whatever" without specific tasks to be completed etc.

Agreed on the no banking, Abbie. Breaks in between events should not have banking going on - if breaks were to be added in a possible future Wobble challenge.

Thanks LaurLa! Much appreciated :-)

message 5628: by Karen ♐ (new)

Karen ♐ (kmk1214) | 1866 comments I agree, E. WaT did seem really long and I like the tasks in this one.

Snowtulip | 4679 comments I agree with what's been said, no banking of books so those mini breaks really are mini breaks. I'm enjoying this labor round.

I'm fine with the length, only because I no longer know how to choose books on my own, so I need a challenge ;)

Captains are absolutely awesome :D So is the team!

K~Terror (k-terror) | 5600 comments I missed a lot this morning! I second a lot of that's been said - no banking is a great idea.. We have an awesome team! I love V's s/s! Definitely helps keeping us organized!

I do think the spreadsheet they provided has required less time to maintain than some of the past challenges. It's been pretty simple to add completed books to our tasks ~ which has been awesome!

message 5638: by K~Terror (new)

Snowtulip | 4679 comments Whoo hoo, Tamika's book means we get another bonus, right?

I think...

Can you tell hubby is gone this weekend and I have a lot of reading time ;)

Tamika♥RBF MOOD♥ | 1422 comments Fudge!! I dislike Title Relay!!!

Let's see what in store for me this week.

message 5641: by K~Terror (new)

K~Terror (k-terror) | 5600 comments I'm not a fan of title relays either, T!
Another team had a 10-book title relay for their bonus so I did do a little *whew!* that ours was only 5!

Oh, and now that I look closer at the first one - I don't think the first one is a romance?

Tamika♥RBF MOOD♥ | 1422 comments Can more then one person do a book in this relay?

BONUS LABOR 5

King Eurystheus has another task for you, but he can’t focus with so many important things on his mind. Before he gives you another task, he has one burning question:
“Why IS a raven like a writing desk?”
You scratch your head, hemming and hawing. Finally you decide to ask someone wiser than you.

◈ Read a book with characters who are known for their intelligence.

I just finished one that I think would fit - Some Kind of Perfect. Connor is like some sort of genius.

message 5648: by Snowtulip (new)

Snowtulip | 4679 comments The book I'm currently reading
Good Morning, Midnight by Lily Brooks-Dalton

The summary says "Augustine, a brilliant, aging astronomer, is consumed by the stars."

Sounds like he's known for his intelligence...

Both your books sound like they would work, K-Terror and Snowtulip.

"Genius" and "brilliant" - sounds like intelligence to me!
