I have under an hour til I'm finished with The Halloween Tree (for skeleton on the cover). The only spot not claimed is read a book that is >800 pages. I can get A Game of Thrones - it is a 34 hr audio so it might take me close to a week to finish. What do you gals think? I've been wanting to read it...

Good find Jessica! I love the long books, but I don't have any available...I have a few on library hold, but there are people ahead of me :(

I'll read Lord book while I sit waiting when I get my hair done, have to wait for those highlight chemicals to work ;)

For some reason I have been intimidated to read AGOT. It isn't the length that gets me, it is the character index in the back of the book. My husband has the book at home and when I saw that I got a twinge of anxiety. I think I'm over it now :)

Jessica, it's not that hard to keep up with the characters once you get to know them a bit.

You are not alone! I tried to read the first book once, but I just couldn't get through it. (I've heard the second book is better) So I just never watched the show either. My husband loves it though and he keeps telling me to give it another chance.

I actually watched the first GoT episode when I was a couple of chapters into the book. And that helped a lot with the characters because I had a visual.

But I agree with Abbie, it isn't all that hard to keep up with who is who once you start reading. A lot of characters are very memorable in their own way which helps a lot with the amount of characters there are.

I do have the first season on Dvd now though so I'll probably launch into watching that soon. After I'm done with all the Gilmore Girls and One Tree Hill seasons that I have lying around.

I haven't started that book yet. I'm going to read it next one way or another but it'll fit other spaces as well once I'm done with my current two reads.

My hubby and and I are almost done with the 6th season of GoT! I remember the first season was a bit hard for me to figure out who was who - so I ended up reading the first episode and THEN we re-starting S1 and it worked out well!

I haven't read the 2nd book yet but I may have to check it out...

I had a hard time with the first part of the book... I felt like I couldn't remember anything from the earlier books!

Monon became my favorite part of the story.... She was very interesting in this one.

Every season is more addictive than the last! Just beware watching it with kiddos around... One minute you think you're watching a normal show, the next minute you have naked people doing it everywhere... (We were not warned!) LOL!

Need to finish Ruthless People tonight, I've not been able to get so much done with work being so close now lol, I can get about 1.5 hours done in the morning and about another 20 minutes on the way home, time for one of my epic baths tomorrow morning I think !!

There is an author called Laura Silverman, she has a book coming out in 2017, only a few arc's give out, but apparently she said a few nasty things about Trump on the Jimmy Fallon show, and now her book is being trolled by people pasting swastikas over her reviews and trolling it with 1☆ reviews.

Never heard of the woman or the book, and it may be brilliant *or* pants, but there is no need for that.

Is he a young player, LaurLa? I remember those days. When everyone was leaving because it was sleeting or snowing -- and we were so far ahead, my hubby & I would be one of the few remaining parents watching the game because their kid finally go to go out and play!
