Alexandria | 149 comments This challenge is very creative. I love it! Now I'm off to lure the troll with fish. ;)

Also I just finished The Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins but I didn't see any open spots to fit it. So I guess I'll just bank it until I finish 2 others and we can use it on a bonus later on? Unless I'm missing something.

VNerdbooks (v_nerdbooks) | 5108 comments Alex take my mystery spot, I've only just started mine and I've got 2 spots anyway so I'll use it for something else :•)

Karen ♐ (kmk1214) | 1866 comments I just finished The Surgeon (Rizzoli & Isles, #1) by Tess Gerritsen . I would think it would fit for Labor 6 / Someone mentally unbalanced. Agree?

VNerdbooks (v_nerdbooks) | 5108 comments so it looks like everyone except ST have claimed at least 2 spots for their tasks, once those 2 have Ben completed you can either start on the bonuses or carry on reading for the tasks.

We need to let ST claim her spots though before we steal them all lol

VNerdbooks (v_nerdbooks) | 5108 comments *been

Stupid fat fingers!

message 5314: by K~Terror (new)

K~Terror (k-terror) | 5600 comments I think ST posted the books she took with her this weekend so I'll see if those can fit anywhere as soon as I can get back on line.

My husband turned off some of our power while he's installing some switch out back.

VNerdbooks (v_nerdbooks) | 5108 comments ohh man vs electricity = bad!!

My hubby blew the breaker in our house lol

message 5316: by VNerdbooks (new)

VNerdbooks (v_nerdbooks) | 5108 comments There are loads of 9/11 documentaries on tonight, I can't believe it was 15 years ago, it seems like yesterday!
Even now watching them makes me cry

K~Terror (k-terror) | 5600 comments Ya, it makes me nervous too!

I

message 5318: by K~Terror (new)

K~Terror (k-terror) | 5600 comments I know it! My daughter was just born about 6 weeks before 9/11 so I was home on maternity leave - along with my 5 year old who was addicted to Dora the Explorer at the time.

It was a weird time bc maternity leave is like a bubble and then everyone started calling me to tell me about it. Freaked me out - devastating!
I kept running upstairs to watch what was going on on the tv so I didn't have to turn on Dora...

Doesn't really feel that long ago in some ways but in other ways it does.. Weird.

message 5319: by VNerdbooks (new)

VNerdbooks (v_nerdbooks) | 5108 comments I was at work at the time as we are 5/6 hours ahead and I remember our manager running down the office after receiving a fax about it, I was working at RCI on the phones at the time booking flights etc so as you can imagine the calls that were coming in were awful.
After that I went home and tuned on CNN and was glued to the TV all night, it was like watching a movie, I couldn't believe it was real.

message 5320: by K~Terror (new)

K~Terror (k-terror) | 5600 comments It still seems unreal sometimes....

message 5321: by Karen ♐ (new)

Karen ♐ (kmk1214) | 1866 comments Since I've always been a late riser, I was just getting ready for work. I had 2 employees already at work so I drove downtown (Chicago) to pick them up...Very scary.

Tamika♥RBF MOOD♥ | 1422 comments I was 14, and in Spanish class when we heard about it. Everyone in class was glued to the tv then.

message 5323: by VNerdbooks (new)

VNerdbooks (v_nerdbooks) | 5108 comments It still doesn't look real watching this, how the hell did it make the buildings fall down??
I mean I'd understand if the top collapsed to the middle, but the whole thing crumbled like a biscuit !!

message 5324: by K~Terror (new)

K~Terror (k-terror) | 5600 comments As a side note - I found spots for 2 of ST's books if you guys think this works:

Treasure Hunter: Because she's on the hunt for a word key
Empire of Storms (Throne of Glass, #5) by Sarah J. Maas

Title in the Title (Mr, Mrs, Lord, etc.)
Golden Son (Red Rising, #2) by Pierce Brown

message 5328: by VNerdbooks (new)

VNerdbooks (v_nerdbooks) | 5108 comments ooh but isn't that one set in space? or on Mars, does that count.......need to check

message 5329: by VNerdbooks (new)

VNerdbooks (v_nerdbooks) | 5108 comments okay just checked q&a and a different planet works so if that spot is clear we can use it for that

message 5330: by K~Terror (new)

K~Terror (k-terror) | 5600 comments I wasn't sure about "son" either... I guess it's more of a designation.

OK -cool! Thanks V!

Welcome back! We just slotted a couple of the books you were taking with you in the tasks. Feel free to move/add/delete as needed on the planning s/s. Hope it was a great weekend!

message 5333: by Snowtulip (new)

Snowtulip | 4679 comments Thanks for saving me some spots :D It was an awesome weekend, the first time we've been camping this summer that we weren't rained on!

So, I also took a spot for handsome man on cover...finished that on the car ride home...so since I finished 2 books, I'm allowed to read for any open tasks (including the bonus tasks) or just the bonus tasks?

You Rock!!! Glad it was such a great sunny weekend!

Yep, you can read for any of the open tasks if you've completed 2 of the regulars! YAY!

message 5335: by Snowtulip (new)

Snowtulip | 4679 comments I used to use Shelfari a lot to help me with how many parts or chapters a book has...now I've been trying to use google books, but not very consistent!

Any recommendations on other sites to use?

message 5336: by K~Terror (new)

K~Terror (k-terror) | 5600 comments I miss shelfari too!

Maybe stalk s/s for ideas? I keep feeling like I'll come across one with 100 chapters... I tried looking on Amazon but that was a bust as most of the books are just samples.

message 5337: by K~Terror (new)

K~Terror (k-terror) | 5600 comments Have you started Empire of Storms? I think there may have been parts..

message 5338: by K~Terror (new)

K~Terror (k-terror) | 5600 comments Grr.. Only 2 parts and only 75 chapters.

message 5339: by Snowtulip (last edited Sep 11, 2016 08:38PM) (new)

Snowtulip | 4679 comments I found a 3 part book, so I added it to spreadsheet...but can't find 100 chapters. Thought GoT would have at least 100 chapters, but most are around 78 chapters!

message 5340: by Berit☀️✨ (new)

Berit☀️✨ (berittalksbooks) Hey girls, James Patterson books always have a lot of chapters, I'd say most of them have over 100 chapters, not sure if you're up for that, but that was what I was probably going to read if I needed to do that particular task :-)

message 5341: by K~Terror (new)

K~Terror (k-terror) | 5600 comments Thanks Berit! I JUST found a 3 part book too but no luck on the 100 chapters so we'll have to check out Mr Patterson!

message 5342: by Jessica (new)

Jessica | 296 comments Life of Pi has 100 chapters. I could pick it up from the library tomorrow :)

message 5343: by K~Terror (new)

K~Terror (k-terror) | 5600 comments Oh ya - that would be awesome Jessica!

message 5344: by K~Terror (new)

K~Terror (k-terror) | 5600 comments I just reread and it says over 100 chapters...
Grr....

message 5345: by Jessica (new)

I'll keep looking :)

message 5346: by Jessica (new)

I should have a 100+ chapter book. (As reserve if necessary - bonus tasks and all, you never know.)

Chris Carter always goes crazy with the chapters, and I remember one with 140+ chapters. I haven't actually opened the latest book yet and it's at home (and I'm at work) but I can check when I get home tonight. It should work.

Snowtulip - just fyi, When We Collided CAN be used, even if it was started before Bingo ended. It's the finish date that counts.

And there you go, ladies!

Our second set of bonus tasks! :-)

We'll be able to request more once we have at least 3 labors fully completed - and we're well on the way already! Keep it up!
