Lory wrote: "If it's still available, I could claim the topiary spot. It's wonderful to know we have an option on deck, though! :)

Bonus Labors
If you have completed at least two books for the main labors you can work on bonus labors. They are a little less pointsy, though, so I'll put them under a spoiler.

oh yea I loved the book! I had the smythe-smith series on my tbr shelf ever since i read the bridgerton series but most of all i wanted to read this one so I started with this and I'm going backwards lol. if i had to start in order i just wouldn't be able to enjoy the first 3 until i reached this one. great read!
Oooo, we're one task away from finishing our first labor! It's:Labor 3C ◈ Read a book with a musical instrument on the cover
Ehhh that's a little hard, let me see if I have anything for this.Kazen wrote: "Oooo, we're one task away from finishing our first labor! It's:

Pragya wrote: "Ehhh that's a little hard, let me see if I have anything for this."My books have way more medical instruments than musical instruments! Who knew~
~goes back to entering words into her flashcard program: epididymis, Sertoli cells, meiosis...~
the series im currently reading- smythe-smith are all about the tone-deaf musicians' family but they don't have any musical instruments on the cover except for one book- which has a violin in the uk edition (so not available to me)
OK, I do have
, which has a cello on the cover but I'm not really in the mood to read it. I've seen the movie so know what happens. Either way, I'll take the spot if no one else has a book with a musical instrument on the cover.
I don't have anything with a musical instrument, but if anyone has a Kindle or Kindle Unlimited I saw 2 with guitars on the front if you search "music novels" but they are both romance and I just can not do that genre, sorry.
However for my next slot I would like to claim Labor 7C - read a book set in outer space, I have the book Half Way HomeThanks!
Oh and Kazen, Blue Sun is really good so far! I may power through it today . Nice to have 2 days off in a row (even if now I have to work the weekend.)
Kazen wrote: "Caly wrote: "Finished -
H is for Hawk by Helen MacDonald
300 pages
for Labor 1C - bird on the cover.
This has been on my mental TBR for a while now but every time I look at it I think, "this is going to be good, but a downer" :( Time to treat yourself to a happy historical fiction, maybe? ;)
..."
Your right it is a bit of a downer, though fascinating and worth the read someday.
And thank you for the Confetti LOL
Hugh Howey is pretty great! Did you read the Silo series? *love* I haven't got around to this on yet, let me know if you like it. Caly wrote: "However for my next slot I would like to claim Labor 7C - read a book set in outer space, I have the book Half Way Home"

I have not read that series yet but I just put the Wool Omnibus on my "to read" list. I did read The Shell Collector which I really enjoyed.
Not sure if I can claim a third. But can I claim the topiary spot, 6D. I'll finish my book tonight abs can start that for the weekend!
Finished!
Blue Sun by Tracy Abrey
360 pages
For Labor 11B read a book with a color in the title
Obviously an easy read LOL. Not the best but not the worst I have read.
Starting
and claiming 7C - read a book set in outer space.
After that I am going to look for a very adult Historical Fiction 8-)
but for now its off to the stars....
I thought The Shell Collector was a bit contrived in the romance area and needed more sci-fi (it was the future after all), but it was okay. Howey himself said it was really his first foray into romance, so perhaps he'll get better. Wool is AMAZING though. The world-building.. so epic. :DCaly wrote: "I have not read that series yet but I just put the Wool Omnibus on my "to read" list. I did read The Shell Collector which I really enjoyed. "

Will let you know about Half Way Home. Thanks for the kudos about Wool, definitely looking forward to it!
Finished:
A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms by George R.R. Martin
9/15
355 pages
8D- Main character is a knight
ALTHOUGH PS- If it's a harder task, this also works for 10E, 3 parts
May I please claim 4E also? - read a mystery bookI am dying to read a Historical Fiction after this current sci-fi and I have The Miniaturist which is listed as a mystery on the main page (4th one down) and no one has mentioned any other mysteries yet. 8-)
Thanks!
So... Captains... have you heard from Kate or Brianna? It's been a month since Kate's posted a book and over 2 weeks for Brianna. :( Are we losing some more people? If so, does that mean we'll get more Travel Agent books?
Finished
My edition has a shadow on the cover (bonus). I don't think it fits for any of the other goals
I've been looking for something to fill in the 'instrument on cover' spot for like fifteen minutes and can't find anything. Does anyone have ideas on this? It's the last spot for that group!
Bethany wrote: "I've been looking for something to fill in the 'instrument on cover' spot for like fifteen minutes and can't find anything. Does anyone have ideas on this? (eta: it's erotica, fyi... my review has info. Don't anyone read it if it's not your thing!)
Hi everyone!I only have a few minutes before a looooong day at the hospital so I'm going to hold off on spreadsheeting until I get home. I'm going to do some quick replies to non-spreadsheet stuff though, I think I have enough brain for that.
...hopefully. Consider yourself warned. ;)

Hehe, dibs - enjoy! I'll update the top post once I get home, too butterfingers on my phone ;)
Completion!
Labor 12B - read a book with more than 100 chapters
436 pages
I know we were sticking with 2 books, but I'll start
Which will hopefully work for multiple spots.
Trying to decide what else to read next, as I usually have a compulsive need to have two books going at the same time...I could do
For 8B, as the cover is 77% yellow.
OR
For 10B, as the MC is a vampire
OR
For 2B, book from a quartet
OR
Probably for 1B, I *think* the main setting is on the water
OR
For 11A, book is set in England
OR
For 11D, MC is a musician (I believe)
What's hardest? Please send help; I am paralyzed by indecision!
You have 6 options....roll a D6!!ETA: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=54VJWHL2K3I
