Tammie | 4553 comments Long shot....I see 2 TA books that would work for a chain:
1. Watership Down
2. Down Under

message 5256: by Ray (user2637) (new)

Ray (user2637) (hugpete) | 1521 comments Hehe, I've been working on this for a bit this morning. It's not great. Watership Down doesn't qualify for either of the Relay tasks (not paranormal, rating not 3-4 stars) and nothing coherent chains to Watership. There are a few completely incoherent books on Amazon that end in "Watership". It's hilarious actually, trying to read the "Look Inside" previews -- clearly translated from another language, poorly. :)

Ray (user2637) (hugpete) | 1521 comments Question: If I want to read a book, but the version I have doesn't have page numbers (Wild One) and the only version with page numbers has a different name (Wild One: 3), how does that work? I have the book without the "3" at the end, and also want to use that version of the book for a possible chain. :/

Ray (user2637) (hugpete) | 1521 comments We have 2 Title Relays: #42 needs first book paranormal and #32 needs first book between 3-4 stars. :)

They're linked on the book page and are obviously not a different language or anything, so I would use the kindle page numbers, no problem.

Marrying Winterborne by Lisa Kleypas

Not my favorite Kleypas... the conflict was boring and the couple was too perfect. The fun secondary characters helped but it was still a slog. :/

BONUS LABOR 43

Athena, ever the champion of heroes, wishes to offer you a boon. But alas, nothing can be given for free. You must complete this task fit for the Goddess of Wisdom. Here's her caveat, it's tricky be warned: the first book must be Main Page genre Paranormal

Read 5 linked books (i.e. Title Relay).

◈ Read 1st Book
◈ Read 2nd Book
◈ Read 3rd Book
◈ Read 4th Book
◈ Read 5th Book

Points: 60

message 5286: by Kazen (new)

So hear me now, universe - big puzzles, no whammies!!

BONUS LABOR 44

Hermes has informed Bookules that Classics is having trouble locating one of its most popular editions. Bookules balks because Hermes showed up while he was finally sitting down to a nice little bowl of gruel, as he hadn't eaten in days while he'd been fixing the mess in the library, but the "Please, sir, I want some more" did not go over very well .... Hurry up and help Bookules find his lost pages. Nobody likes cold gruel!

◈ Read a book where there is a housekeeper/maid
◈ Read a book with a character who is an undertaker or works in a funeral home
◈ Read a book where the main character is an orphan
◈ Read a book with a "gang of thieves" in the text
◈ Read a book with a character or author's name is Charles

I love the super short audiobooks that are like 4 hours on normal speed, but only 2 hours if you can listen to them on 2x speed. That's like, the perfect amount of time to get most of the laundry, dishes, and a grocery shopping trip done!
