There are 4 standard badges and then every so often there will be others (like I have a "challenge participant one" for when they did a challenge)

1. Professional Reader - Every member starts with this badge, to acknowledge your contributions in helping books succeed!

2. 80% - Members who provide feedback for 80% (or more) of their approved titles will receive this badge. In order to qualify for this badge, members must have been approved for 20 titles (or more).

3. Top Reviewer - Members will receive this badge when 3 or more of their reviews have been added to any NetGalley title details page by a publisher. (To see which reviews have been added just go to your Shelf, then under Feedback Sent you will see a little icon next to the titles where your review now appears on its Title Details page.)

4. Frequently Auto-Approved - Members will earn this badge when they are auto-approved by 4 or more publishers. (To see which publishers have auto-approved you, look at the bottom of your Dashboard for the list.)

Kristie | 3595 comments Thanks, Karen! I think it will be a long time before I get the auto approval badge. I don't think I have any auto approval publishers yet. Maybe I should favorite some.

I got approved for one very early on, but none since! haha. I do have lots of publishers as "favourites" based purely on location because otherwise most of the books I look at in a general search are for US readers only.
The publisher that auto approved me is a small Canadian one, so maybe small publishers are more likely to do auto approvals? It is Dundurn.
Anyone else have auto approvals and who are the publishers? Maybe I should try and get that badge :o

message 106: by [deleted user] (new)

Yeah I was also wondering about how auto-approval works and how to get one. Thanks for explaining Karen.

Ravishing Ruby by Lavinia Kent - 6/23/16 ♥♥♥♥
Ravishing Ruby (Bound and Determined, #3) by Lavinia Kent - Ravishing Ruby Review

I'm happy to have finished another review, but I cannot tell a lie: I downloaded another 9 books this month! 9! It's those darn emails and "read-now" books that tempt me......There. I feel better now that I've confessed. *sigh*

message 111: by Lara (new)

Lara | 676 comments This has been a slow reviewing month for me. I have added more than I've reviewed and need to step it up! So far, I've only read and reviewed 5 books, though I've started a 6th and hope to get to a couple cookbooks in the next week.

message 112: by [deleted user] (new)

Yeah Lara, I've had that exact same experience I'm ashamed to say. A lot of books that I've read this month were review copies, although they weren't fulfilled through NetGalley so I didn't really gain any percentages. Hopefully next month will prove more fruitful for me!

message 113: by Kazen (new)

Kazen It's been a slow reading month for me - a NetGalley book put me in a reading slump, boo!

Iron Cast by Destiny Soria - abandonded review

message 114: by Kristie (new)

Kristie | 3595 comments That stinks, Kazen! Boo!! Hope your next book is better and pulls you right out of the slump.

message 115: by Kazen (new)

Kazen Thank you Kristie! My next book comes highly recommended by (seemingly) my entire Wobble team so I feel like I'm in good hands. :)

Which book is it? (just curious for recommendations ;)

Hehe. It's Darkfever, the beginning of a long urban fantasy series by Karen Marie Moning. I don't know if I would put it with my all-time favorites just yet but it's doing a great job of breaking my slump. :)

I'm auto approved for Chock Lit & Blue Moon Publishers. Just requested on from Dundurn ...

message 119: by Lara (new)

Lara | 676 comments I just finished Ecstasy Unbound (The Guardians of the Realms, #1) by Setta Jay and didn't care for it at all. While the sex scenes were well written, the world building was weak (she tried, but it just didn't really make sense), there were too many characters, and I didn't start to feel like there was any meaningful action until the second half of the book. Until then it was all description and explanation, but I didn't feel like I was really in the characters' heads.

This challenge is spurring many of us on to improving our percentages. Good for you! And, of course, I had to add this book to Mt. TBR!

Congrats, Karen. Yeah, I had no idea I had earned that badge too, with 4 featured reviews. Who knew?

Kristie | 3595 comments I was just approved for another book. Her Darkest Nightmare (The Evelyn Talbot Chronicles, #1) by Brenda Novak This brings my ratio down to 79%, but I read the prequel and enjoyed it, so I'm looking forward to this one. Also, I'm almost done with All the Missing Girls, so hopefully I can get my ratio back over 80% before the end of the month.

message 126: by Lara (new)

Lara | 676 comments I was up to 80% a few days ago, and have since been approved for 2 books and also picked up a Read Now book. Silly me. Fortunately I have a couple of cookbook reviews to do in the next week and am hoping to finish another book I'm 60% through.

I'm hoping to finish All the Missing Girls today and start fresh next month. I didn't read all of the books I planned (I missed one), but I still had a good month. If I finish my book tonight, I'll be back to my 80% goal.
